Chapter 46
No matter how hard she thought, she couldn't figure out what exactly Danzō's scheme was. Naruto's head ached with frustration, and he cursed out loud in irritation:
"Damn that fucking idiot Danzō! One day I'm definitely going to torture him to death!"
He was still too young. Even counting his previous life, at best he was just someone with a high starting point.
In his past life, he was an ordinary person through and through. He'd never studied military tactics, schemes, or conspiracies—even chess, he'd barely played a few times.
When it came to playing tricks and schemes, the straightforward Naruto was still no match for a veteran like Danzō.
Right now, Naruto didn't want to think about anything.
He just wanted to take Sakyo back to camp, then grab Hinata and Sakura, leave the competition site, and go straight to Kakashi.

In the dense forest, outside Naruto's camp.
Yūgao Uzuki's face was ugly as she spoke to the Root ninja blocking her path:
"I'm warning you—I'm here under the Hokage's direct orders to guard Uzumaki Naruto!"
"If you stop me, you won't be able to bear the consequences later!"
Just moments ago, she had discovered that Naruto and Sakyo had disappeared, and at the same time she herself was suddenly blocked by Root.
This made Yūgao extremely anxious. Root belonged to Danzō—they wouldn't listen to the Third Hokage at all.
And Danzō was an old schemer—who knew what other dirty tricks he still had up his sleeve.
By blocking her from going to find Naruto, Danzō definitely had some move planned.
Yūgao looked into the distance—toward the competition entrance, where Kakashi was located.
If it was Kakashi, he could definitely break through Root's blockade and save Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sakyo.
Unfortunately, Yūgao would never know the outcome.

"Lightning Cutter!"
"Wind Blade!"
In the battlefield, Kakashi and Maki fought together against a large number of Root ninjas.
Maki said with a headache: "I won't end up being blamed for breaking the treaty because of this, right?"
Kakashi ignored Maki's complaints. Right now, he only wanted to get into the forest and check on Naruto's condition.
Naruto was the student of his teacher (Minato). Usually Kakashi was too busy with missions to look after him, and even during this mission he still couldn't ensure Naruto's safety.
This left Kakashi feeling powerless. The strain on his Sharingan also made him feel uneasy.
But it seemed Danzō had made up his mind this time. So many Root ninjas—it looked like they intended to kill both Maki and Kakashi…
Perhaps even wipe out all the academy students in the entire forest.
All so Danzō could have an opportunity to twist the facts.

Naruto's speed was bizarrely fast. The group of Root ninjas couldn't keep up at all.
The Root captain cursed in frustration: "What kind of monster is this! Is he really human?"
"Quick—send word to the other teams. Tell them to block the jinchūriki!"
One of them immediately stopped, pulled out communication gear, and began contacting everyone.
Every single… Root member who had entered the forest.
Ahead, Naruto looked back smugly at the chasing Root ninjas and taunted:
"I thought you were somebody special. Turns out you're just trash—you can't even catch up to me. Are you useless? What can you even do?"
"I'm carrying a person, and you still can't keep up. At your age, with only this much strength—how do you even have the face to keep living?"
Naruto kept mocking them relentlessly, nearly making the Root captain choke on his own anger…
