In previous instances, we were wary of him, but we would play some tricks on him when he was running the instance, such as increasing the difficulty for him. This time, however, we actually separated him from other players.
Yin Xiu sensed something was wrong. After thinking it over, he realized that the key figure in this instance was a small black octopus that looked very similar to Li Mo. It was Li Mo who had deliberately placed him in a separate space.
That felt a bit off... and Li Mo, who promised to come directly to him, still hadn't shown up.
Yin Xiu silently darkened his eyes and turned to look at the sky above the school.
From the moment he entered, the sky was completely black, and there was no light on any side. Only the pale lights of the teaching building shone in the night-like environment, creating an eerie atmosphere.
The playground downstairs, the stairwells, and the dormitories not far away all emitted eerie lights in the dark environment. It was so dark that you couldn't see the school's surroundings. The ground of the entire school shook slightly, and the night wind blew incessantly. It didn't feel like an environment on the ground at all.
Yin Xiu looked again at the one or two barnacles that had fallen on the ceiling.
He reasonably suspected that the school was floating on the sea, or even once hidden deep in the sea, otherwise the barnacles could not have grown at such a high position.
A cool breeze swept through the stairwell where Yin Xiu was all alone. A faint smell of blood wafted in the air. He was very sensitive to this smell and almost instantly looked in the direction from which it came.
Turning his head, he saw the huge red monster he had seen on the playground earlier now crammed into the narrow stairwell. Layers of sticky flesh were piled up on the stairs, and a huge eye was staring intently at Yin Xiu, its pupil reflecting his figure standing under the pale light.
Yin Xiu stared coldly at the monster's crimson eyes and its restless state, and said in a calm voice, "I came out with the teacher's permission."
The monster's attack stance gradually decreased as Yin Xiu spoke. It stared intently at him, its scarlet mouth widening again, and it uttered a commanding voice, "Go back to the classroom."
"But I have my teacher's permission to go to the infirmary." Yin Xiu stood still, unmoved.
The monster stared at him. "You can only go to the infirmary after class."
Yin Xiu raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
The monster didn't answer him, but blocked the stairwell to prevent him from leaving the school building. Yin Xiu stood under its gaze for a long time, and after confirming that it wouldn't leave, he had no choice but to slowly turn back to the classroom.
Until he left the corridor, the monster's eyes were still fixed on him, as if it were sizing him up.
When Yin Xiu returned to the classroom, the lecture had already stopped. The teacher stood on the podium, her slender figure hunched over, her two-meter-long body leaning out from the podium, constantly stretching out, scanning the students in the front row, watching them write.
When Yin Xiu returned, the teacher looked up at him and said, "Go back to your seat and recite what was just explained."
Yin Xiu silently sat down in his previous spot, then lay down and went to sleep.
If you can't listen to or pay attention but still have to attend class, then you might as well just sleep. Anyway, you can't understand their writing, and you can't possibly memorize it.
He had barely slumped down when the teacher slowly peeked over from the podium, landing beside Yin Xiu's desk and staring at him. "Why are you sleeping in class?"
Yin Xiu answered calmly without opening his eyes, "Because I'm not feeling well, as I mentioned before."
The teacher didn't say anything, but just stared at him, making him feel extremely uneasy.
The classroom was quiet, with only the scratching of pens and paper from the students. No one paid attention to Yin Xiu, who was sleeping, nor did anyone notice the teacher who was watching him.
The comments section watched as a long body bent over, its neck passing over everyone in the classroom and landing on Yin Xiu's desk, its head staring at him. But Yin Xiu remained unmoved, closing his eyes and sleeping calmly.
The scene was both bizarre and terrifying.
"Brother Xiu really dares to sleep there, there's a head right next to him."
"How can I sleep when someone is watching me? I wouldn't dare open my eyes either."
"But the teachers here seem much gentler, don't they? Is it just my imagination?"
"No, just now one of Boss Ye's students tried to sleep through the lecture, but the teacher swallowed him up..."
"Ah... I see... Her originally slender body suddenly became wider... because someone was squeezed in."
"Hiss... I didn't see it, thank goodness I didn't see it."
"In short, it was extremely terrifying. It was so scary that the other players didn't dare to move."
"Let alone the players inside, even I, watching from behind the screen, dare not move."
"But what's going on with Brother Xiu...? The teacher was just staring at him, not swallowing him?"
"I don't know."
On the other side, Ye Tianxuan was wiping the blackboard while watching the messages scrolling by in the live chat.
He's finished class now, the players and monsters have all left, and he's all alone again. Yin Xiu still hasn't appeared.
Based on the enthusiastic reactions from the chat, he was now fairly certain that Yin Xiu's time was slightly later than his, and that he was the only player there, with no other players present.
However, the situation is the same throughout the entire instance.
For example, everyone has to attend classes at set times, with the same teacher and the same group of students, and even the course content is the same.
So, in order to verify the differences between their two spaces, whether they are connected, and whether they influence each other, he had to conduct an experiment.
While I was wiping the blackboard, a dark figure walked straight through the light and past the classroom.
He walked past for less than two seconds, then turned back and stood at the doorway.
As soon as Ye Tianxuan turned his head, he caught a glimpse of the dark man who seemed to blend into the dark sky outside the teaching building. He stood under the bright white light at the door, a strange smile curving his refined and handsome face. A quick glance at him was no less terrifying than that of the students in the classroom earlier.
"Oh, you're here again?" Ye Tianxuan turned around, calmly continuing to erase the blackboard, removing the distorted pattern the teacher had drawn.
"Where is Yin Xiu?" Li Mo asked the important question right away.
He came in looking for Yin Xiu, entering the instance the moment it started. But strangely, he couldn't find Yin Xiu anywhere in the entire instance, even though Yin Xiu was right there and his scent was there.
"How come even you can't find Yin Xiu?" Ye Tianxuan glanced at him indifferently. "It seems this instance has really gone to great lengths to kill him."
Li Mo's smile froze. He strode into the classroom, grabbed the chalk box Ye Tianxuan was trying to take, stared at him intently, and then uttered a common human word that he had just learned.
"Explain in detail."
