Chapter 77 - Tomato Harvest

Ahri waved her hand, telling her not to be so polite.

Since the Ur-Shet Tribe and the Voz-Karr Tribe were close to each other, Ahri figured that birds carrying seeds around would definitely spread tomatoes into the Ur-Shet territory as well.

Rather than making Hayoon struggle to search for them after returning home, she might as well do her a favor now.

It could also count as thanks for the beautiful clothing design Hayoon had just shared.

However, Hayoon felt that the climates and terrain of the two tribes were still quite different.

Even someone as experienced as Immo had rarely seen tomatoes in the Ur-Shet territory, so it would probably be even harder for Hayoon to find them herself.

So she silently remembered the kindness from the Voz-Karr Tribe.

The animals and fruits in this beast world were generally much larger than normal, yet the tomatoes were only about half the size of a fist, proving that their natural yield in the wild was not high.

Hayoon quietly began planning how she could cultivate and plant them after returning home.

Together with the others, she carefully searched through the entire patch of tomato vines.

In the end, each person gathered about half a basket of tomatoes, both ripe and unripe.

Afterward, the people from the Voz-Karr Tribe led them deeper into the mountains.

Amid chatting and laughter, the entire morning passed quickly, and everyone returned with full baskets.

The cave Hayoon was currently borrowing did not have a place for making fire, so after everyone distributed the gathered supplies, she discussed it with Immo and went together to the outside of Chorong's cave to borrow his stone stove.

Since they were guests, they did not need to hand over the gathered food to the Voz-Karr Tribe, so both of their baskets were packed completely full.

Ahri arrived carrying food prepared for Minho and the others together with two other sub-werebeast.

Not long after they arrived, Chorong returned with Minho and the others.

Every werebeast carried portions of fresh meat across their backs.

Fresh blood dripped down one drop at a time and the scent of raw meat spread through the wind.

The two groups greeted each other.

Jinsan naturally walked over to Immo's side, while Minho headed straight toward Hayoon and lifted what he was holding.

"Is this... long-eye fish?" Hayoon instantly smiled as she reached out to take the string of fish tied together with grass.

Minho smiled as well. "Mm. After hunting, there was still time left, so everyone went to catch fish in the river for a while. This was my share."

The long-eye fish were not very large, but the meat was tender, had few bones, and barely carried any fishy smell.

Hayoon liked eating them very much.

Hayoon had only eaten this kind of fish twice before during the time she stayed at Minho's cave, because there were not many of them in the rivers near the Ur-Shet Tribe.

This time, however, she counted carefully and realized Minho had brought back eight whole fish.

Each one weighed around three pounds and was still flapping its tail wildly.

"That is enough, that is enough! With this many fish, we can make several huge pots of food!"

Chorong set down his prey and washed his hands.

As he tied up his red hair, he walked over with a smile. "I already knew Beom and the others were good at catching fish, but I did not expect Minho to be even faster. He caught the most out of everyone."

A sense of pride immediately rose in Hayoon's heart. "Minho really is amazing at hunting."

Minho asked, "How was gathering today?"

Hayoon said excitedly, "It was great! We even found a food called tomato berry!"

Chorong nodded. "Tomato berry, huh? It tastes really good stir-fried with bird eggs."

Hayoon grinned. "That was my original plan too, but now I decided to make something else instead."

Not only Chorong, but everyone else also became curious.

"What is it?"

Hayoon smiled mysteriously. "Want to know? Then come help me prepare the fish first."

Ahri walked over immediately. "Alright, leave it to me."

After thinking for a moment, Chorong said, "Everyone should just eat here tonight. We can treat it like a feast. After dinner, we will head to the pottery kiln."

Everyone immediately agreed with the suggestion.

Whether from the Ur-Shet Tribe or the Voz-Karr Tribe, everyone loved the lively atmosphere of group meals.

Some people started the fire while others prepared ingredients.

Even though there were many people, everything remained orderly.

Without needing any discussion at all, everyone naturally left the role of "head cook" to Hayoon.

Hayoon smiled and accepted without refusing.

She first checked all the ingredients carefully, then assigned tasks to everyone before getting busy herself.

"Hayoon! The fish are cleaned already! What do we do next?" Ahri shouted from beside the water.

"Do you have a knife?"

"I have a bone knife."

"Then slice the fish into thin pieces and place them in a basin first."

"Got it!"

On the other side, Chorong who was plucking bird feathers looked up and said, "How about we switch? I have a blacksilver knife."

Ahri smiled at him. "You just do not have the patience to deal with bird feathers, right?"

Caught red-handed, Chorong did not look embarrassed at all. "These feathers are tiny and annoying. Plucking them is driving me crazy."

"Fine then, we will switch. Remember to slice the fish evenly."

"I know." He was looking forward to Hayoon's new dish, so how could he not work carefully?

Hayoon had no objections to their exchange.

What truly caught her attention was the blacksilver knife Chorong mentioned.

She watched as the tall werebeast walked to the water's edge.

With a flip of his hand, a small knife slightly longer than his palm appeared in it.

The blade had a dark silver color tinged with yellow, with several black spots scattered across it.

As Chorong moved, the knife reflected a clear metallic sheen.
