Chapter 80 - Pottery Tycoon

After she filled hers, the amount of soup in the pot visibly dropped.

The others immediately protested.

"Hey hey hey, leave some for us too!"

The sub-werebeast hugged her bowl and grinned happily.

Hayoon somehow felt like she was looking at an adorable fluffy puppy.

"This soup is so delicious. Adding starch really makes a difference. At first I thought that after weaving hemp cloth, the first thing I would make would definitely be clothes. But now I have decided to use it for filtering starch instead!"

Everyone burst into laughter and started teasing her.

"What did you say earlier? That starch was too troublesome and unnecessary for cooking! And now for food, you are even willing to delay making clothes? Hahaha!"

"How was I supposed to know it would taste this good? Besides, I still want clothes. I will just make them later!"

Another wave of laughter spread around them.

The people from the Ur-Shet Tribe were already used to this kind of sudden change of opinion.

After all, they had already tasted things like fried mushrooms and mochi before, so when eating this new tomato fish soup dish, they were not as crazily shocked.

At least on the surface, they still looked fairly calm.

Meanwhile, the Voz-Karr Tribe people behaved like they had never seen such food before, which filled the Ur-Shet Tribe members with pride and superiority.

From time to time, everyone glanced toward Hayoon.

The delicate young girl sat there holding a steamed root vegetable, eating slowly and calmly.

She listened to everyone's praise with a smiling expression, neither arrogant nor overly modest, making people feel naturally fond of her.

No wonder Chorong kept trying to get close to her.

He was probably hoping to recruit her into the Voz-Karr Tribe.

Hah. Dream on.

The Ur-Shet Tribe members had already privately told Minho to keep a close eye on Hayoon and absolutely not let Chorong succeed.

Before long, everyone began discussing the shredded cold meat dish again.

"I really love this dish. It is so appetizing. I ate way more root vegetables than usual."

"Same! I cannot even eat other meat now."

"Looking at all of you, it is like you have not eaten for three days. Good thing we prepared enough food today. Hahaha."

"Do not just talk about us. Your mouth is covered in soup too."

"I think the most special flavor is that numbing crisp taste! Is it because of the Spelon Berry? That thing can actually be used as seasoning?"

Immo naturally joined the conversation. "Yes. Whether used raw or stir-fried, it tastes wonderful."

"Good, good! Next time we will gather Spelon Berry too! Can you tell us more dishes that use it?"

Immo replied, "You can add it when making fried mushrooms."

"Hm? Fried mushrooms? How do you fry them?"

As everyone cleaned up after the meal, they continued chatting.

Immo briefly explained how to make fried mushrooms and naturally brought up mushroom hotpot as well.

As the people of the Voz-Karr Tribe listened, they gradually felt that even the Kudzu root in their hands no longer smelled appetizing.

They asked with envy and jealousy, "You people eat this well in your tribe?"

Immo smiled faintly and did not deny it. "Hayoon taught us all of it."

Ahri suddenly cried out several times, "Ahhh!"

Everyone immediately turned toward her and asked, "What is wrong?"

While holding her chopsticks tightly, Ahri said resentfully, "I suddenly find all of you a little unpleasant to look at."

She turned toward Chorong. "Chief, can you not do something about this?"

Chorong burst out laughing and spread his hands helplessly.

Everyone else knew Ahri did not truly mean any harm, and honestly, even the Ur-Shet Tribe people felt they had been showing off quite a bit, so the entire group laughed together.

Ahri kept a straight face and signaled at Chorong with her eyes.

Hayoon is this capable. Are you not going to think of a way to recruit her?

Chorong's expression practically replied:

You think I do not want to? The people of the Ur-Shet Tribe guard against me like I am some kind of thief!

Ahri looked even more annoyed.

Chorong gave her a calming look.

It is fine.

There is still plenty of time left together.

You all should work harder too.

Ahri nodded extremely seriously.

After finishing the delicious meal, everyone washed the bowls and pots clean.

They rested for a while before heading toward the pottery kiln.

This was Hayoon's first time personally watching people fire pottery in a kiln, and she could hardly contain her excitement.

Not to mention, Chorong had promised that any pottery pieces they shaped themselves could be taken home after firing!

...

The pottery quality of the Voz-Karr Tribe was excellent.

Once they brought this batch back, the pottery cauldron in Hayoon's storage would no longer need to be treated like some family heirloom.

Hayoon rubbed her hands together eagerly, fully prepared to make something impressive.

But the moment she actually started shaping pottery clay herself, she finally understood just how wide the gap between imagination and reality truly was.

Without proper tools and relying only on her hands, she could barely shape anything properly even after struggling for half the day.

And even when she finally managed to form something, the thickness was uneven everywhere.

If it went into the kiln, it would probably crack immediately during firing.

Hayoon stared at her hands covered in clay and sighed gloomily.

Why was it that her brain understood perfectly, but her hands absolutely did not?

Hayoon figured she probably would not be able to take much advantage of the Voz-Karr Tribe's generosity after all.

"How is your pottery shaping going?" Minho asked from not far away as he looked up.

Hayoon pressed down on the pottery blank in her hands and answered a little awkwardly, "Not bad."

Minho's gaze swept over her pottery blank before he pointed toward several clay jars he had made himself. "Are these sizes suitable?"
