Chapter 82 - Unexpected Customers

Although it was called sulfur soap, it was actually made from leftover scraps from the previous batch she had produced.

She had not wanted to waste the remaining pieces, so she pressed them together into one block.

Originally, she and Minho had already agreed to go collect sulfur ore together, but the pottery kiln matter had delayed everything.

After being neutralized with beast fat and alkali, the sulfur smell was no longer as harsh, though it still carried a faint unpleasant scent.

Hayoon was carefully scrubbing herself while wondering when she would finally get the chance to visit the hot springs when she suddenly noticed Ahri swimming over beside her.

Ahri stared at the sulfur soap in her hand and asked curiously, "Hayoon, what is that? I saw you and Immo both using it."

Her expression looked slightly strange, probably because she felt too embarrassed to directly ask why they were rubbing something that smelled like rotten eggs all over themselves.

Hayoon smiled. "It is something used for cleaning the body. It is called sulfur soap."

She naturally moved it closer so Ahri could see it more clearly.

"I see. Your tribe really pays attention to these things," Ahri said.

Hayoon laughed. "Not really. Someone in our tribe had lice before, so I made this for washing hair. There were some leftover scraps, so I kept them."

Hearing that, everyone immediately became interested.

Aside from Immo, the others all swam over curiously and stared at the sulfur soap.

"Something this small can kill lice?"

Hayoon nodded. "Yes. It can deal with some other small bugs too."

"You only need to wash with it? Will it damage the skin while killing bugs?"

"No. Quite a few people in our tribe have already used it."

"It sounds like a really useful thing! Do you still have more? I want to trade for one," Ahri said immediately.

Hayoon thought to herself that nobody had even asked whether it would be expensive.

The people of the Voz-Karr Tribe truly were not lacking in wealth.

Even Chorong owned his own metal knife.

"I already used up the materials for making sulfur soap, and I have not had time to gather more yet."

"Ah..." Ahri immediately looked disappointed. "Then when will you be able to make more? I want to reserve a piece."

"Me too, me too! You have no idea how annoying bugs are when they appear on your body. Especially for sub-werebeast like us who cannot transform into beast form. Sometimes we can only shave our hair off, and it looks terrible."

"Exactly! I want to reserve one for my cub too."

Hayoon had never expected that simply taking a bath would attract this much business.

Their enthusiasm was so overwhelming that she almost wanted to sink underwater to hide.

Fortunately, Immo swam over and helped rescue her.

"Everyone, do not rush. Quite a few people in our tribe have already reserved sulfur soap from Hayoon as well. If there is any left over, we will have the patrol werebeast send word to your tribe."

The moment the sub-werebeast heard this, they became even more anxious.

"So sulfur soap is actually this popular! Hayoon, you absolutely must make more!"

"Right, right! We will prepare supplies for trading!"

"I want to reserve two pieces. No, three!"

Hayoon exchanged a glance with Immo.

Immo wore a gentle and refined smile, but somehow Hayoon felt that she had done this on purpose.

Hayoon finally spoke up. "I will see how many materials I can gather when the time comes. As long as I can make them, I will definitely prepare your share too."

"Oh right, I am also planning to make a batch of ordinary soap without sulfur. It will not kill bugs, but it still cleans well and will be harder than the sulfur soap I am using now."

As she spoke, she handed the sulfur soap in her hand over to Ahri and the others.

"You can try it and see how it feels."

Ahri and the others carefully held the sulfur soap like a treasure.

They felt too embarrassed to use it directly on their bodies, so they only rubbed a little onto their hands.

After washing off the foam in the river, they carefully examined their palms under the moonlight.

"Heavens, my hands feel so clean and fresh! This sulfur soap works amazingly well!"

"I rarely get bugs anyway. I want ordinary soap! I can use it for bathing and washing my hands!"

"I want to reserve three pieces of ordinary soap too!"

Hayoon's eyes curved into crescents as she smiled.

"Alright. There should be enough ordinary soap for everyone. The supplies I ask for in exchange will also be cheaper than sulfur soap."

Everyone's eyes turned red with excitement when they heard that a single bar of regular soap could be exchanged for just half a beast hide, a large chunk of meat, or a piece of cloth.

They all rushed to give Hayoon deposits on the spot.

Ash water was easy to make, and collecting brine from the salt river only took time.

As for animal fat, that was not difficult to obtain either.

A small bar of soap in exchange for so many supplies made Hayoon incredibly happy.

The people of the Voz-Karr Tribe were equally excited.

After climbing ashore and getting dressed, they continued enthusiastically discussing soap with Hayoon.

When they reunited with Minho and the other werebeast, Chorong learned about the matter and immediately slapped his thigh excitedly. "Hayoon, why did you not bring out something this good earlier? I want some too! I want ten bars!"

The other werebeast of the Voz-Karr Tribe saw even their chief reacting this way and immediately became competitive.

"I want ten bars too! I heard you are planning to build that thing called... a house, right? Do you need timber? I have some dried wood stored away."

Hayoon's eyes lit up at once. "Yes, yes, I do!"

Wood was an excellent resource.
