Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Siegfried Kaslana

In the bar, only the captain of the Divine Authority Squad and the dark-brown-haired Valkyrie from the Former Intelligence Department remained, locked in a silent stare.

The A-rank Valkyrie, dressed as a waitress, had a dazed expression, her thoughts muddled as she mumbled incoherently:

"Did I just hear someone call Overseer Otto 'Dad'?"

"Did I just get promoted to some top-secret unit?"

"Did I just hear about a new S-rank Valkyrie being promoted...?"

"...Knowing all this, am I, Simon Lailey, about to be silenced?"

"Hehehe, snap out of it, A-rank Valkyrie Simon Lailey! You're under my command now!"

"Now, pour me a glass of Château Latour 1988, the one you've been clutching since the beginning—"

Snow waved her hand in front of the woman's face, jolting the Valkyrie's consciousness back to reality.

"Absolutely not! Minors are forbidden from drinking alcohol! That goes for S-rank Valkyries, my own captain, Overseer Otto's daughter, and even Schicksal's future heir! This is a matter of professional integrity for me as a bartender!"

Snapping back to reality, Miss Simon Lailey paused briefly before vehemently rejecting her current superior's request, firmly reminding her of her unwavering professional ethics and principles.

"Tch—how boring," the blonde girl muttered.

"Now then, explain the current situation, my intelligence officer," she said with a pout, accepting the sparkling water Simon Lailey handed her.

"After the explosions earlier tonight, the Singapore Government severed all communication with Schicksal. The police have begun hunting you down... Ah, I mean, us now?"

"They've also issued an arrest warrant for Fu Hua, another A-rank Valkyrie from the Far East Branch..."

"Looks like that vixen from Anti-Entropy really offered the Singapore Government some irresistible deal..."

The blonde girl propped her chin in her interlaced hands, leaning against the table as she pondered. Soon, she initiated a communication request.

"Hey, Snow, what's up? I've already reached the Administrative District."

"The Singapore Government has sided with Anti-Entropy's radical faction..."

"Go make them repent! Houraiji Kyuusyou—"

Pfft! The sound of a purple-haired girl spitting out water came through the comms.

"Ahem, ahem... Are you seriously ill today, or are you planning to rename the Divine Authority Squad 'Dark Angels'?"

"...Just do as I say."

"Alright, alright... I'll make them remember the exact age they first wet the bed—my little darling."

The final response to Snow wasn't Kyuusyou's usual energetic voice, but a bizarrely flirtatious tone.

The connection was abruptly cut.

"What's with that expression?" Snow asked, turning to Simon Lailey, whose face screamed, Have I wandered into a demon's lair?!

"My dearest current boss, are you sure the members under your command..."

"...are all normal people?"

"...Probably?" The Valkyrie paused, her gaze drifting toward the door.

"Look me in the eye when you speak!"

-

Houraiji Kyuusyou, dressed in the uniform of a Singapore Government official, walked confidently toward the city's core, a document pouch tucked under her arm and a faint smile playing on her lips.

The young woman strode steadily toward the heart of the Administrative District. As she rounded a corner in a corridor, a middle-aged man with white hair reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"My beautiful lady, care to join me for a stroll...?" The man leaned in casually, his smile spreading across his face.

"..." Contrary to the man's expectation of panic, the purple-haired girl merely gave him a calm, appraising look.

"Siegfried Kaslana," she said calmly, "if you move your hand any closer to my ass, I guarantee Schicksal will raise your wanted level several priority tiers—and I'll make sure your daughter Kiana hears about it too."

"Uh... You're a Schicksal Valkyrie?" Siegfried's smile froze, cold sweat beading on his forehead.

"Let me guess: Einstein and that Lobster-head Doctor sent you to Singapore on a quest?" The pair continued walking toward the district's core.

"Wait... How did you know that? Does Anti-Entropy really have spies within Schicksal?" The man turned to stare at the girl beside him, his face filled with shock.

"Hiss... Schicksal Valkyrie, I don't know why you haven't attacked me yet, but hear me out first—"

"Cocolia, the radical leader of Anti-Entropy, plans to trigger the Fourth Honkai Eruption in Singapore, using it to create and capture a Herrscher for research."

"She deceived the Singapore Government, making them believe it was just an ordinary experiment, and diverted their attention with massive financial investments."

"We already knew all this when we came here. If that's all you have to say, Siegfried, you may leave," Kyuusyou said, glancing at the anxious man.

"So you're just going to ignore it?!" The middle-aged man stared in shock at the girl before him.

"Do you really think Cocolia's pathetic scheme will succeed?" Kyuusyou scoffed.

"Their forces guarding the Gem of Serenity are about to be slaughtered like sheep by an A-rank Valkyrie specializing in assassination."

"And if you're worried about Cocolia's trump card—the clone of the First Herrscher—there's no need to be." Kyuusyou scoffed.

"During tonight's explosion, he lost his tongue and was knocked unconscious."

"Now, hand it over," Kyuusyou said, turning to Siegfried beside her.

"What?" The middle-aged man with white hair paused, startled.

"The container for the Gem of Serenity, of course," Kyuusyou said, raising an eyebrow. "We're not like Cocolia. We actually came to Singapore on vacation."

"While we have plenty of ways to smuggle in armor and weapons, specialized equipment like the neutralization device for the Gem of Serenity requires official approval. There's no way we could get our hands on it while on vacation."

Kyuusyou shrugged, casting a mischievous glance at the man beside her. "But you came here specifically for this, didn't you, Uncle?"

The purple-haired girl extended her hand in a demanding gesture.

"I'm sorry, I already have..." Siegfried began, but the girl cut him off.

"You already have someone you like?"

"Yes, I already have someone I like... spit spit spit I already have a suitable candidate!" Siegfried corrected himself, narrowly averting the trap.

"Whatever. I already know who you're talking about anyway. So, Uncle, what exactly did you come here for?" Kyuusyou asked, studying the man curiously.

"I want to warn key figures in the Singapore Government about Cocolia's conspiracy."

"Then you can go back now."

"Huh?" Siegfried looked utterly bewildered.

"The Singapore Government has severed all ties with Schicksal and even issued an arrest warrant for your favorite candidate for the Schicksal Valkyrie."

"As for me—I received orders from the captain to beat them until they confess the age of their first bedwetting, making them regret this decision for the rest of their lives."

"Don't worry, I won't kill them—at most, they'll suffer lifelong psychological trauma. So, Uncle Siegfried, are you going to try and stop me?"

Kyuusyou began rubbing her knuckles, her expression eager and ready for action.

"Forget it. If they've gone this far, I doubt I can talk them out of it. I'll just go find that Valkyrie from the Far East Branch directly."

"Do you even know where she is right now?"

"Don't underestimate adults, you brat! I may not know where she is, but I know where she's going."

"Then good luck~"

Kyuusyou waved goodbye to Siegfried as he turned to leave and headed toward the conference room.

"Esteemed officials of Singapore, I bring you greetings from Schicksal—"

"Repent, fools!"

Screams erupted from the conference room, spreading like dominoes throughout the Administrative District.

No one was spared—not the guards who rushed to investigate, nor the ordinary staff who reveled in the chaos.
