Chapter 6 - ~06

It was about 6 o'clock in the morning once I made my way to the library. I barely slept any.

I was too anxious for sleep.

This girl intrigued me, and I wanted to learn everything about her. Not only that, but I had already decided last night that this place wasn't safe for her.

With the politics being so hostile among neighboring territories, it was just too dangerous to keep her here.

especially since i've gotten word that there may be a mole among us.

Integrating her into my world somewhere more secluded would be more comfortable for her.

We leave today.

If there's any information about what exactly Esmira is, it would have to be here in this bibliotheca.

Information has been passed down to this library throughout my family's generations.

After hours of searching through the shelves. I had finally put together 4 titles, that I was sure I could use to gather information about Esmira.

I nearly gave up my search, but the thought of having Esmira here made me a paranoid.

If anyone found out their Luna was here, chaos would run rampant in the city. They would want to meet her and that just wouldn't work at the moment. I don't have time explaining this to the people. I barely understand her my damn self.

Even though nothing has been confirmed yet, I understand that my people aren't stupid. They know that I wouldn't give a random girl her own private suite. People speculate, that's what they do.

However, the soldiers and staff are usually good with keeping secrets. It's part of the oath they took to serve.

I reminded myself of this and took a deep breath. I trust the news won't escape this building.

I sat down in the middle of the huge library. It was empty. I'm not sure people even still used this place.

After flicking through the first three books, I found that there wasn't much that I could use. Some easter eggs here and there, but nothing in detail like I was looking for. The last book I picked up however, looked the most promising.

This book was very old. It wasn't as thick as I expected it to be, which was a bit disappointing, but there was something about it that made it different from the previous three.

I opened the book and gently paged through them. The pages were so delicate. I knew that it was old based off the writing. It was a first edition book, handwritten in blotchy ink. I wonder what year this was written in?

I began reading...

ANGEL ENCOUNTER 1832

A strange creature was stumbled upon by a group of young children. A human like figure , with wings- or what you would call an 'Angel' was found in a small providence near Iquitos, Peru- near the Amazon Rainforest .

He went by the name of Edris. The male was extremely sick. Stricken with infection from a severe injury to his head.

He was described to be of dark complexion with silverish grey eyes. The eyewitnesses described him to be taller than usual than the men who resided there- around 6'5.

The enormous wings that emerged from his back were an off-white color with silver reflective tips.

Witnesses say that they were able to have a short conversation with this being shortly before he passed.

The creature's personality was described as moody and dark, but he did have a moral compass. This mix of Evil and Righteousness made everyone who came across the creature curious. Some of the people even felt bad for the creature.

A small funeral that consisted of 10 people was held and he was buried in a shallow grave on the outskirts of the Amazon River.

Rumor has it that Edris faked his death. In attempts to avoid further harassment from the people of Iquitos, he allowed the people who resided there at the time to bury him.

Escaping from his grave hours later, he fled from the area, never to be seen again.

Shortly after, when people attempted to pay their respects to the strange creature, all evidence of Edris was gone.

The headstone, the casket he was buried in and even the shallow grave its self. All gone, refilled with no trace that there was ever anyone buried there.

The only information that was extracted from the creature is the following:

- Reaches maturity at the age of 21

- Wings are retractable

-Angels have guardians. These guardians are similar to a werewolf's 2nd subconscious, except that they are separate from their human and extremely possessive.

- Guardians are with an angel from birth -Diet: Fruit, nuts, and legumes

-Origins: UNKNOWN

-Population: UNKNOWN

-Life expectancy: UNKNOWN -Mortality: UNKNOWN

I closed the book and sighed. This book is very outdated.

I feel like I know more than what's in the book based off the little time I've known Emily.

Although it was an interesting story, I'm not getting anywhere.

All I really know that if I wanted to keep her a secret, we were going to have to leave the kingdom right now.

Esmira POV

The next morning, I was drowning in my thoughts.

I was completely caught off guard by the King entering my room last night. I could barely sleep any after that.

Goosebumps still prickled all over my body as I think about how his strong silhouette loomed over me while I was asleep.

How long had he been watching me? I thought.

'Zo, did you know that we had a mate?' I mind linked.

"Well of course, but I would have assumed he would be of our own species. I would have prepared you for something like this. It doesn't happen often, but I've never seen anything like this. I wouldn't have thought that it could be possible being mated to someone outside of our species."

This whole situation is just insane. How could I be mated with a monster?

Plus he is a King!

What would that mean for me? Would I still be able to run wild and free? It's not fair that this is happening to me.

Just thinking about the possibility of having to give my freedom up, made my stomach churn.

"I know your scared Esmira , but know that is is a good thing…

I was under the impression that we were alone , that we would never have a soul mate. Sure , he's not an Angel, but at the very least you won't have to die alone…

You just have to trust me, Esmira. Although he has a harsh nature, he will love us. Don't you want that? Someone to love you?

He is an Alpha King!

Understand that he can protect us better than I can.

Don't you want to roam this world free without caution?" She asked.

'But you love me Zamora. Your enough! He's so scary! How can I love someone who truly terrifies me? I cant, I wont!' I finished.

She ignored me. I guess she wants me to find out for myself.

Deep down I do want what he explained to me. What she described sounded lovely. I'm sure anyone would want that.

Its just- The energy that comes off that man. It's dark. And the people in his basement?

Like, am I supposed to just look over that?

About two hours had passed before I heard a light knock on the door. It was him. I could recognize his dark woodsy scent even through the door. A few seconds passed before he let himself in.

With an all-black sundress in his hand, he looked at me curiously.

"Come put this on, it's time to go now." He spoke.

His tone seemed final – like there were no room for arguments.

My anxiety shot through the sky. My eyes instantly became glued to the floor, and I began to wonder if I had free will with this man.

If I tried to escape, would he try to stop me?

Would he hurt me?

My heart began to pound in my chest. My breathing became shallow.

When I didn't come to him like he asked the first time, he sighed in frustration and closed the door behind him.

My fear did nothing but rise.

"Your mine Emily. I'll chain you to my bed if I have to. Even if you did manage to get away from me, I have your scent now. Your 'escape' wouldn't last long. I'll track you down to every end of the earth. I have waited decades for you, and if you think your bigger than my program, I guess I have no choice but to force you into submission."

His words made me tremble in my spot.

He walked closer towards me with fire in his eyes. He was close, so close...

His presence felt threatening.

Each breath I took in his presence felt like a breath that he allowed me to take.

He bent down, and whispered in my ear...

"Will you accept your fate by my side, or will I have to fuck you into submission?" A tear slid down my cheek as I realized he wasn't giving me a choice.

He offered the dress out for me to grab.

I took it out of his hand out of pure fear and proceeded to change in the bathroom.

"Where do you think you're going?" He growled.

I stopped dead in my tracks and sighed heavily.

"Change here." He commanded.

More tears formed in my eyes. Taking me away from the only world I've ever known wasn't enough, he has to humiliate me as well.

There was no fighting him over this. He over powers me in so many ways so easy.

I kept my back turned away from him and shed out of the robe I was in and quickly slipped into the plain black dress. It fell right below my knees.

He hummed in approval as I turned to face him.

He threw a pair of sandals on the floor in front of me.

"See if those fit." He spoke.

I slid my small feet into the sandal, and low and behold- they fit. It was a little creepy how he knew the size of my dress, even down to my shoe size.

This is the man Zamora is telling me to trust? My fears continued to grow the more I was in his presence.

"Keep your head down as you follow me. Don't cause any trouble, you won't like the punishment I'll have waiting for you if you choose to disobey me."

He spoke to me so sternly. It had me questioning everything I thought was 'right' about Zamora.

Does she know what she's doing here. If it were up to me, I would have been plotting my escape last night. But she just constantly insists that we stay.

"Come on Es. I know this isn't something your used to. This is the nature of man, his heart will soften towards you with time. He just has to get used to being gentle. Trust that he'll adjust."

I thought about it for a second. The fact that Zamora was just okay- going with a man we don't know... He really must be something special.

I really shouldn't be second guessing Zamora, her telling me to trust such a dangerous man seems unfathomable.

But In my heart, I know for a fact that she has my best interest at heart.

We have been in sticky situations before, and she has always proved how potent her wisdom was.

She's never once steered me wrong. Why start leading me wrong now? Why start questioning her now?

Her spirit has been around this earth for thousands of years. I know about how the humans worshiped her at one point. Although the situation doesn't look good from the surface level, Deep in my heart, I don't think she would blindly throw me in a situation where I would get hurt.

She definitely knows more about this mate nonsense than she's letting on.

I followed him through the grand castle. Why did this place have to be so big? It literally took ten minutes to get to where he was taking me.

We passed a few women who looked like they worked inside the castle.

Cleaning supplies and rags hung close to them on their uniform. Nasty looks and stares were thrown at me. I couldn't help but wonder why...

Once we finally made it to the opposite end of the castle, he opened the door that led to another staircase leading down. It ended up leading us to some kind of garage.

I looked around curiously. A variety of cars, all different from one another lined up and down the long dimly lit garage. There were so many cars that I got tired of counting them. I stopped at 42. They were all so clean.

They were nothing like the old, beat-up truck that granddaddy drove. Although Grandaddy did have a truck, I've never laid eyes on anything like this.

The King quickly grabbed a set of keys off of the wall and clicked the button on the fob. The sound of a horn honking led us to the direction of where the car was parked.

He placed his hand on the small of my back and led me to the car that we were taking.

Heat rushed up to my cheeks at this small gesture.

This man made me nervous in all kinds of ways. The feelings I'm experiencing are all new ones. It doesn't help that they are all mixed with fear. I'm not completely sure how to interpret them.

Once we made it to a large black SUV, he opened the door for me, and helped me step up into the car.

He closed my door and headed around to the driver's side.

I situated myself inside the car and looked around in awe. I've never seen a car so modern. Leather seats, lots of space, and It had a huge screen in the middle along with lots of shiny buttons to push.

"When is the last time you been in a car?" He spoke as he closed the door behind him.

I shrugged my shoulders as I explored the car with my eyes.

He put the keys in the ignition and started the engine. He then proceeded to pull something out from his pocket.

A rectangular device, with a well-lit screen took his attention for a moment.

I curiously watched as he typed something into the device and held it up to his ear.

"Get the jet ready Max, I'll be there in an hour."

He quickly put the device away, as he began backing out of the parking space.

I wondered as to where we were going.

Hopefully not too far from the forest I called home.

Questions raced through my mind as the King drove me to only God knows where.

My life was over as I knew it. Sadness covered me like a warm blanket. The only comforting thing I could do at the moment was cry silently to myself.

I was suddenly woken out of my sleep by a loud trill of air.

I looked around in confusion as I saw the King quickly jump out the car and meet what looked to be a pilot? We were on an airstrip near and sleek black Jet.

The King shook hands with the man and had a brief conversation before jogging over to my side of the car.

"We go now." He offered his hand as he spoke. Again, there was that tone that told me he was not to be tested.

I grabbed his hand as he helped me out of the tall truck. The jet was so loud, it hurt my ears. He led me up the steps of the Jet, and told me to sit in a leather chair near the window.

I continued to ponder as I wondered where we were going. Obviously somewhere far since it required a plane to take us there. If I had to, finding my way back home will be hard, but not impossible.

The King disappeared once more into a small room before returning with a briefcase in his hand. He sat it near his chair, and sat next to me.

He loosened his tie, before looking down at me.

"Get comfortable. Our trip to Europe will be a long one."

Europe!?

I couldn't help the anger that was consuming me in this moment. A feeling I haven't felt in a long time.

Not only was I being forced to be this man's bride, bear his children, become ruler of a country I had no interest in- I was being taken away from the only home that I've ever known.

None of this was fair.

Angry hot tears fell down my face as I clenched my fists.

From my peripheral, I watched as a woman began offering the King an assortment of different things for his comfort.

Eventually she left, and completely clueless of my frustration the King offered me water to drink.

"Drink something, you must be parched." He spoke.

I kept my head turned my head away, completely ignoring him.

He saw the tear run down my cheek and sighed in a frustrated manner. Me ignoring him, didn't sit well with him either. At all...

He slammed the drink down on the table and yanked me by my arm harshly.

A yelp escaped my lips as I followed him into a separate room.

It allowed for a lot more privacy. Everything you would need in a bedroom was in this room, it even included a small shower in the bathroom.

He closed and locked the bedroom door as he pushed me down on the queen-sized bed. He pinched the bridge of his nose as he frowned at me.

"The only thing that will make this situation worse, is you. You want something to cry about? I'll give you something to cry about. Nothing pisses me off more, than a brat." He spat.

He sat on the bed near me and forced me to bend over his lap.

I thrashed and kicked as hard as I could, but it was all worthless while his strong hands effortlessly held me down. I got ahold of his arm and sunk my canines deep into his arm, drawing blood.

He grabbed me by my hair and turned me towards him slightly, causing me to let go of his arm. His large hand grabbed my jaw, making me whimper.

"What a brave fucking thing you are." He chuckled darkly.

I bared my elongated canines at him, and hissed out of fear.

He forced me back down over his lap, as he lifted up my dress - rubbing my bum roughly.

I tried getting out of his grip, but of course, he over powered me by holding me down.

Embarrassment consumed me as he began... Spanking me?

I yelped in pain as his hand came down on my bum repeatedly.

Tears ran down my face as I continued to whine and resist his punishment.

Why is this happening to me? I thought. What have I done to deserve this?

I cried out in pain as his hand came down upon me, over and over and over again. Finally, he paused and sat me up from over his lap, looking at me sternly.

"When I say do something, you do it. No questions asked. Disobedience will never be tolerated, neither will ungratefulness, or baring your fucking teeth at me."

I could tell he really hated when I did that. "Understand?" He spoke.

I was still processing what had happened to me. I continued to hiccup and cry while rubbing my tears away as he looked down upon me.

He smacked me on my thigh with the back of his hand.

"I said, do you understand?" He hissed.

I whined as I nodded rapidly, but this wasn't enough for him.

"Speak when spoken to Emily. Use your words." He spoke sternly.

I sniffled while looking up at him.

"Y-Yes Alpha." I cried fearfully. Calling him by the title I heard one of his soldiers call him, finally appeased him.

He seemed to be pleased with hearing my voice for the first time.

"Good." He spoke.

"Haven't even been here a week and your already getting punished." He trailed off.

Blood dripped down his arm onto the floor. It satisfied me to know I hurt him back.

He disappeared into the bathroom and came back into the room with a light gauze around his forearm. The puncture wound was deep.

Blood seeped through the gauze, but he seemed to not care about it.

I hope it leaves a scar to remind him that, I can be dangerous too.

He proceeded to pull the thick blanket back from the bed and motioned for me to get in.

"We have a long trip ahead of us. Take your shoes off and get in the bed. Get some rest."

With red eyes from crying, I kicked off my sandals and got in the bed.

He began taking off his shirt and pants to join me, I quickly looked away from his nakedness in shame.

Looking for too long would stir up emotions that I'm too ashamed to admit.

The King was overwhelmingly attractive. No amount of resistance could deny that.

He dove into the bed right behind me and forcefully pulled me close to him.

"I don't want any issues from you from now on. In time, you will understand your position next to me. Trust me to take care of you, and you will live a productive life. Women would cut off their limbs to be in your position."

His large hands grazed across my stomach. Another feeling that I couldn't interpret fell over me.

It felt wrong to like his cuddles after what he had just done to me, but for some reason- being in his arms felt...comfortable.

"Such a good girl taking your punishment. If you behave for the rest of the flight I have something waiting for you in Greece."

He kissed the side of my head and continue to graze my tummy with his large hands.

At this point, I still couldn't stop crying.

After about 15 minutes of him shushing my tears and comforting me in his arms, I felt sleep begin to consume me.

I felt ashamed for submitting to his touch after what he had just done to me.

I put up a fight to not enjoy his touch, but after a while, there was no point in fighting it.

Blaming my comfort on the mate bond and the fact that I didn't sleep at all last night made succumbing to the sleep easier.
