Naruto stood alone in the ruined clearing. Wind and earth were completely under his control. He had forged the Rasenshuriken and the Rasengan Gantetsusō(Spiraling Iron Drill) in a matter of hours. He needed to test the water element next.
He opened the Observation Deck in his mind. The sterile blue grid overlaid the dark, overturned soil of the forest. Water was a tricky element to manipulate offensively. It required fluidity, but it also needed intense pressure to cause real physical damage. He thought about industrial water cutters. A thin stream of water, pressurized to extreme levels, could slice cleanly through thick steel plates. He just needed to apply that exact logic to a spinning sphere of chakra.
He formed a standard Rasengan in his left hand. The blue sphere hummed with kinetic energy. He isolated his water affinity deep within his core. He pushed the cool, heavy chakra up his arm and directly into the rotation.
The physical reaction was immediate. The pale blue sphere turned pitch black. The chaotic humming sound vanished completely. The new jutsu was entirely silent. It felt like holding a void in the center of his palm.
Naruto used the digital grid of the Observation Deck to shape the internal rotation. He forced the black water into a series of overlapping, hyper-pressurized rings. The pressure built up rapidly inside the containment shell.
"Suiton: Rasen Ōuzu," Naruto whispered to the empty forest. (Water Release: Spiraling Great Vortex.)
He needed to test the cutting power. He looked at a cluster of massive boulders resting untouched near the edge of the tree line. He thrust his left hand forward.
The sphere did not explode. It released a localized, high-speed stream of dark water directly forward. The rotational force acted like a massive pump. The water stream bored a perfectly smooth hole straight through the center of the first boulder. The water then fanned outward, acting like a liquid buzzsaw. It sliced cleanly through the surrounding rocks. The massive stones collapsed into perfectly even, polished slabs. The dark water soaked deeply into the dirt, leaving a muddy, flooded crater behind.
It was a perfect, silent assassination tool.
Three elements down. Fire was next.
-
Fire was the Uchiha clan's absolute specialty. He was scheduled to go on a high-risk mission with Itachi Uchiha very soon. He needed a fire jutsu that would make standard fireballs look like simple matchsticks. He needed overwhelming firepower.
He pulled the Observation Deck interface back up. Fire was incredibly volatile. It naturally wanted to expand, consume oxygen, and burn everything around it. Trapping raw fire inside a spinning, compressed sphere was basically building a thermal bomb. He had to be extremely careful to avoid incinerating his own arm.
He formed another standard Rasengan. He pulled raw fire chakra up from his coils. He forced the prime frequency to vibrate at a massive speed to match an open flame. He injected the immense heat directly into the core of the jutsu.
The sphere instantly turned a blinding crimson. The heat radiating from his palm was suffocating. The grass around his boots withered and turned to gray ash in seconds. He had to fight the jutsu physically to keep the shape stable. The fire desperately wanted to explode outward. He wrapped the sphere in a dense layer of neutral chakra, compressing the heat deeper and deeper into the center.
The color shifted rapidly. It turned bright orange, then yellow, and finally settled into a searing, blinding white. It looked like a tiny star resting in his hand.
"Katon: Rasen Ryūsei," he said quietly. (Fire Release: Spiraling Meteor)
He knew better than to detonate this technique at close range. He pulled his arm back and threw the white-hot sphere high into the night sky. He aimed for a thick canopy of ancient trees a full hundred yards away.
The jutsu flew like a streak of lightning. It impacted the thickest branches.
A massive dome of white fire expanded instantly. The thermal shockwave vaporized the wood, the leaves, and the moisture in a split second. A deafening roar shook the ground violently. The shockwave pushed Naruto back a full step.
When the blinding light faded, a huge glowing crater remained in the distance. The intense heat had literally melted the forest soil into smooth, dark glass that glowed dull orange in the dark.
He had fourS-rank variants. He briefly considered attempting the lightning element. He closed his eyes and tried to turn his natural chakra prime frequency to lightning: The frequency completely eluded him. Lightning was erratic and instantaneous. He remembered seeing Kakashi Hatake use the Chidori in the anime. He realized he needed to see a high-level lightning jutsu in person to analyze its vibration properly. Trying to force it now would just result in a failed construct and wasted chakra. He decided to wait. Four variants were more than enough for a four-year-old on an escort mission.
Now he needed tactical data. He needed to know exactly how these newly created elements interacted with each other.
Doing this himself was entirely out of the question. The combined destructive yield of four S-rank techniques would easily vaporize him. Even the rapid healing of the Hashirama cells would not save him from absolute cellular destruction. He needed to observe from a safe distance.
He raised two fingers in a cross shape. "Shadow Clone Jutsu."
Four solid, identical copies of himself popped into existence.
Naruto immediately jumped backward. He channeled chakra to his feet and sprinted away from the center of the clearing. He found a massive oak tree near the edge of the destruction and scaled it quickly. He settled onto a high, sturdy branch, putting fifty yards between himself and his clones.
Down below, the four clones took their positions. They formed a wide circle in the center of the ruined landscape.
The first clone raised its right hand. The screeching sound of a thousand birds echoed loudly as the Rasenshuriken formed. The four massive wind blades spun violently.
The second clone brought its palm up. The heavy, grinding roar of the Rasengan Gantetsusō shook the dirt. The brown, jagged sphere tore at the air around it.
The third clone created the silent, dark whirlpool of the Rasen Ōuzu.
The fourth clone ignited the blinding white heat of the Rasen Ryūsei.
The real Naruto watched closely from the tree. He used the Observation Deck to monitor their chakra networks. He gave the mental command to attack.
The four clones charged forward at the exact same time. They met in the dead center of the clearing and slammed the four S-rank jutsus together.
The impact completely defied physics. The microscopic wind blades crashed into the solid rock drill. The high-pressure water slammed directly into the miniature sun.
For a fraction of a second, the world went completely still. The four overwhelming forces tried to cancel each other out in a tiny, compressed space.
Then the explosion happened.
The shockwave hit Naruto like a physical wall of solid air. The branch beneath him violently cracked, nearly knocking him out of the tree. A blinding flash of pure light erased all the shadows in the forest. A massive column of superheated steam, pulverized rock, and razor-sharp wind shot hundreds of feet straight into the night sky.
The sheer force of the blast leveled everything within a fifty-yard radius. The four clones were instantly vaporized.
The sensory data flooded straight back into Naruto's brain. He grabbed his head and grimaced as the intense information hit him. He processed the extreme thermal shock, the immense kinetic stress, and the violent elemental recoil.
The clash had created a perfect vacuum of destruction. A massive, smoking crater now dominated the center of the forest.
The test was a complete success. The tactical data was absolutely invaluable. He knew exactly how much damage each jutsu could take before destabilizing.
Naruto dropped down from the tree and landed smoothly on the dirt. He took a deep, slow breath. He checked his internal reserves. His chakra was sitting at roughly thirty percent. Creating from scratch and using four S-rank techniques in a single night, and supplying enough chakra to four clones to let them use the techniques again, had taken a heavy toll on his body.
A normal shinobi would be unconscious or dead from severe chakra exhaustion. He just felt a dull, heavy ache in his coils. The Hashirama cells were already working. He could feel the slow, steady pulse of fresh energy pumping back into his system. He would be fully recovered before they even crossed the border into the Land of Hot Water.
He looked up at the sky. The heavy darkness above the canopy was finally breaking. A thin line of pale orange light stretched across the distant horizon. The sun was slowly rising.
Danzo had given them seventy-two hours to prepare. The time was officially up.
Naruto turned his back on the smoking crater, the melted glass, and the destroyed trees. He started walking east, moving steadily through the quiet morning air. It was time to find Kinoe and report back to Root headquarters. The mission with Itachi Uchiha was about to begin.
