Chapter 22 - Uther the Lightbringer

"Uther! You've come at just the right time." Arthas looked at Uther, overjoyed.

The continuous battles had already left him physically and mentally exhausted!

Only after seeing his mentor and the Knights of the Silver Hand did his tense expression relax.

"Don't celebrate yet, child, the battle is far from over. Keep attacking and eliminate these undead," Uther said, nodding to Arthas.

Uther the Lightbringer was incredibly powerful; his Holy Light and martial arts skills were almost unmatched in the entire Alliance!

Although there were five original Paladins, only three were truly powerful: Uther the Lightbringer, the Old Man, and Turalyon, who had already gone missing in the Outlands.

Raising the warhammer in his hand high, Uther released a powerful Holy Light, instantly purifying all the undead creatures around him.

"Oh, Holy Light! Grant me strength!"

Dozens of Paladins unleashing Holy Light Spells together was a terrifying sight. Golden light almost illuminated the entire Hearthglen, and all undead creatures began to evaporate the moment they touched the Holy Light.

Meanwhile, all human soldiers, bathed in the Holy Light, felt the fatigue accumulated from days of fighting instantly disappear, and their wounds miraculously healed under the Holy Light's radiance.

After the powerful Silver Hand Paladin army joined, the war became a one-sided affair. The Holy Light's suppression of the undead was simply too great!

In just a few tens of minutes, the undead army that had completely surrounded Hearthglen was annihilated by the Paladins!

"We won! We won!" The remaining defenders in Hearthglen cried tears of joy, raising their weapons high, embracing each other, and weeping.

If it weren't for Arthas and Rhodes, they wouldn't even have had the courage to hold on.

After the battle ended, Uther came before Arthas, accompanied by Jaina Jaina.

"You actually held on for so long, child. If I had arrived any later..." Uther looked at the ravaged battlefield, filled with undead creatures everywhere, and couldn't help but sigh!

The danger of this battle far exceeded his expectations. The number of undead besieging Arthas and his men reached several thousand, while their defenders numbered only a few hundred.

He hadn't expected Arthas to last this long. This was meant to be a compliment, but Arthas, whose emotions were already highly sensitive, didn't see it that way.

"I did my best, Uther! If I also had a squad of Paladins at my disposal, I would have long since..." Arthas said with a furious, grim expression.

He thought Uther was blaming him for not protecting the area well, for allowing so many people to die at the hands of the scourge, but he had already given his all, even nearly sacrificing his own life.

"Uther was actually praising you, Prince Arthas!" Rhodes, standing by, said.

"I wasn't praising him. He merely fulfilled his duty, and his performance was only passable," Uther said.

As a strict mentor, he couldn't excessively praise his disciple, especially a prince, otherwise it would make him arrogant.

Arthas snorted upon hearing this!

He was somewhat dissatisfied. Why was a simple compliment so difficult to get?

From childhood, the education he received was always strict: You are the Prince of Lordaeron, you must fight for your people, you must make your father proud, you must earn the love of your people.

His father also often told him, "In the future, you will become the King here, ruling this land. All of Lordaeron will be proud of you, and the Alliance will pledge allegiance to you."

The heavy burden of being the future King and the pressure of being the Alliance leader made him feel a bit suffocated. Arthas didn't know if he could become what everyone expected him to be; he could only try his best.

And this Undead Plague caused something that had been festering within Arthas for a long time to erupt!

"Alright, now is not the time to dwell on honor. What we face is just the beginning. Every warrior we lose in battle only strengthens the undead army," Uther said.

"Then we'll catch the leader first! We'll go straight for their leader. I'm going to Stratholme to kill Mal'Ganis! Even if it means death, I won't hesitate!" Arthas declared.

Mal'Ganis, that despicable Dreadlord, was the mastermind.

"Don't get excited, child. Your courage is commendable, but the commander of the undead army is not someone you can defeat alone. Dreadlords are not as simple as you think," Uther said, patting Arthas on the shoulder.

He had already learned some things from Jaina, and he knew about the Dreadlord. This was indeed very difficult for Arthas.

Dreadlords are demons, and by rights, they should be handled by the Guardians of Dalaran. But unfortunately, the Guardian of Dalaran, Medivh, was already dead!

However, the power of the Holy Light could still banish these demons!

"Whatever you say, Uther, my mind is made up. I am going to Stratholme now! No one can stop me from killing Mal'Ganis." Arthas said nothing more and immediately began to rally his army, preparing to march towards Stratholme.

Rhodes, standing by, was somewhat speechless at this moment. Heading to Stratholme, Arthas' ultimate fate had already begun.

Uther and Jaina also sighed, then immediately began to arrange for the army to follow Arthas' footsteps.

"You must be Rhodes? I heard you simultaneously command the mysteries of magic and the power of the Holy Light?" After Arthas left, Uther looked at Rhodes, nodded at him, and asked.

On the way here, he had already seen Rhodes cast Holy Light Flash and also a Frostbolt!

"I am a mage, but the power of the Holy Light has favored me, allowing me to use it," Rhodes said with a smile.

"Thank you for your help, Rhodes. You've been with Arthas all this way. I hope you can persuade that child not to be too impulsive," Uther said.

His own words might be too strict, but his role was that of a teacher. He was destined not to be too gentle with Arthas. But Rhodes was different, and so was Jaina. The two were considered Arthas' friends in this battle. He hoped that child would listen to what they had to say.

Whatever you do, don't be impulsive.

"I will, Mr. Uther." Rhodes nodded to Uther.

"Don't worry, Lord Uther, I'll use an invisibility spell to follow and watch," Jaina said.

"I hope so! I will gather the remaining troops and reinforce Stratholme. I hope we don't arrive too late." Uther finished speaking and also turned to leave.
