Chapter 33 - Artefact

Jaina quickly stepped forward and carefully examined the soldier Kharis' leg, then her face was filled with shock and excitement: "Perfect! The bone reshaping is seamless, and the muscle, nerve, and vascular networks are rebuilt almost flawlessly! This... this is simply the pinnacle of life alchemy!

Rhodes, this medical tent... is it an engineering marvel or an enchanted item? What is the energy core inside? That life-giving gel..." She fired off questions like a machine gun, her academic passion completely ignited.

Rhodes shrugged.

Uther also walked over and gently patted Kharis' shoulder, then looked at Rhodes, the solemnity in his eyes replaced by deep approval and a hint of understanding: "Remarkable means, Rhodes, this treasure is no ordinary item, its use must consume a great deal, right?"

"You've seen the effect; it can reshape flesh and repair limbs. As for the cost...

I have virtually no consumption; it's entirely the effect of this miraculous treasure," Rhodes said with a smile, revealing a fact that greatly shocked Uther.

The medical tent costs nothing. As long as it's purchased, it can be used for treatment every three hours.

Currently, he has 2000 units of gold daily, while a medical tent only costs 750 gold coins.

More importantly, Rhodes already plans to establish a Congress that can produce 4000 units of gold daily. The prerequisites for the Congress are a Council, plus a Castle.

The Stronghold only has a Keep as a prerequisite building, and this building comes with the initial city. The resources consumed are only 2500 units of gold and 5 units of ore.

After the Stronghold is built, creature production will increase by 50%, and it will also add defensive arrow towers. The Castle, however, requires 5000 units of gold, plus 10 units of ore and 10 units of wood.

After the Castle is built, creature production will increase by 100%, and the construction price of the Congress is 10,000 gold coins.

Rhodes estimated that by the time he reached the Capital City of Lordaeron, he should be able to build the Castle, and then save money for another 5 days, which would be enough to build a Congress.

So, the medical tent is truly worthless to him. Rhodes plans to exchange the items he has for something special, such as some resources from the Capital City of Lordaeron.

That's why he demonstrated the medical tent's capabilities, to let Uther and Jaina see its effects and relay the information to King Terenas and Dalaran.

"No cost at all, Rhodes, are you sure?" Before Uther could speak, Jaina, Jaina beside them, jumped up first.

"There's a slight limitation; it can only treat one unit every three hours. Other than that, there are no other restrictions," Rhodes said with a shrug.

This statement immediately left Jaina and Uther somewhat speechless. Was that a cost?

If you call that a cost, I would have thought it could only be used once a day, or once a month!

"Light be with us, Rhodes, this is a rare treasure. It must be used on the right path. Keep it safe and don't take it out lightly," Uther said, patting Rhodes' shoulder.

As a Paladin of noble character, upon seeing Rhodes' wondrous treasure, he had no intention of seizing it.

He would only remind Rhodes to use this treasure for good, but this treasure needed to be kept secret, otherwise, it would attract some people with ulterior motives.

"Rhodes, can you tell me where you obtained this thing called a medical tent? How was it made? And what is its operating principle?" Jaina asked eagerly.

She desperately wanted to know the origin of this special magical item. As a female mage of Dalaran, a disciple of Archmage Antonidas, and a genius female mage pursued by Prince Kael'thas, her thirst for knowledge was immense.

"How should I put it? This is a treasure I obtained while exploring an ancient ruin in Erathia. It was an indescribable place, filled with incredibly magical and advanced creations," Rhodes said, feigning mystery.

Upon hearing this, not only Jaina but even Uther looked curious.

However, the Lightbringer suppressed his curiosity and dismissed the surrounding soldiers, taking Rhodes to his medical tent for a private conversation, as the following discussion was not suitable for ordinary soldiers to hear.

Only Rhodes, Uther, and Jaina remained inside the medical tent.

"It's safe enough here, Rhodes, you can speak now," Uther said.

"Lord Uther, and Jaina, do you... know anything about the Titans?" Rhodes slowly began.

"Titans?" Uther's thick eyebrows slightly raised; this word carried too much weight.

As the leader of the Knights of the Silver Hand, he had encountered many ancient texts and legends. Although the teachings of the Light did not directly address them, they vaguely mentioned them as great beings from the dawn of creation, and even the origin of humanity was linked to Titan creations.

"You mean... the Titan Keepers who are said to have shaped this world and left behind numerous ancient ruins?"

Jaina, on the other hand, brightened up. This treasure was indeed related to the Titan Keepers.

"Exactly them!" Jaina's reaction was much more direct and enthusiastic. Her blue eyes instantly lit up with astonishing brilliance, and she leaned slightly forward.

"Tyr! A'zadas! Freya! These Titans... Keepers! Rhodes, are you saying... that your wondrous magic, and this medical tent, all... all originated from Titan ruins?"

Her voice trembled slightly with excitement. As one of Dalaran's top apprentices and a high-ranking student of Antonidas, her knowledge of Azeroth's ancient history far surpassed that of ordinary people.

The Titan Keepers and their creations represented power and knowledge almost miraculous, beyond the reach of mortals.

If Rhodes' encounter was related to this, then everything made sense—those never-before-seen magical systems, that limb regeneration ability that defied the laws of the Light!

Rhodes nodded, following Jaina's lead, weaving a semi-true, semi-false "adventure story" based on the Warcraft worldview:

"Yes, during a very accidental journey in my early years, I got lost north of Khaz Modan, near the Great Sea, deep within a fjord shrouded in eternal mist.

There... existed an entrance, concealed by ancient ice and a distorted magical field. With a bit of luck and... perhaps some guidance, I managed to enter it.

It was not any civilization's ruins as we know them. The space inside was unimaginably vast, with huge, gleaming metal passages crisscrossing. I was certain that it could not have been built by elves, humans, dwarves, trolls, or even dragons. Its style was very peculiar, and I encountered a mysterious, ancient, and powerful being there..." Rhodes began to spin his tale.
