Terenas could hear that the Lightbringer's evaluation of Rhodes was extremely high, clearly showing how much he valued Rhodes.
If, as Uther said, this young man named Rhodes was truly worth recruiting, his talent for Holy Light Spells, and even being favored by the Titan Keeper, who personally bestowed powerful creations and magical artifacts upon him.
"That truly sounds like a thrilling adventure. I am growing increasingly curious about that youth named Rhodes.
Can he really learn the Holy Light Spells you taught him instantly? Is it possible he already knew these spells before?" Terenas was still somewhat unconvinced.
That someone could learn several Holy Light Spells in such a short time.
"I personally confirmed that, Terenas. There is even one Holy Light Spell I only developed recently and have not taught to anyone else.
But after I taught it to Rhodes, he learned it in less than an hour," Uther said.
"In that case, he truly is a rare talent!" The old king said.
That fool Arthas! Such a powerful talent should be recruited at all costs, brought into the Alliance and Lordaeron, to serve the Lordaeron Royal Family!
Uther was far-sighted enough to bring this young man named Rhodes to the palace to meet him.
"Uther, do you think the relationship between Arthas and Rhodes can be repaired after he returns?" The old king asked.
"That shouldn't be a problem. I hope the Arthas who returns from Northrend can change his attitude," Uther said.
If it was the Arthas who was previously in Stratholme, then obviously not; he didn't even respect his own teacher, let alone a mere friend.
But if it was the Arthas who was formerly humble and whose personality was once as warm as the sun, then yes.
"He will. This time he has only suffered a great blow, but I believe in my son, Arthas. He is the pride of all Lordaeron and the heir of The Menethil Family," Terenas said.
"May the Holy Light protect the Prince, Terenas," Uther said.
He also hoped Arthas could return to his former self, hoping that this lesson would not cause too great a setback for the child.
Concentrating all the pressure on himself alone was definitely not a wise move.
"Uther! How do you think we can get this young man, Rhodes, to join us in Lordaeron and become a member of the Alliance?" The old king asked.
"I tried to invite him to join the Knights of the Silver Hand, but he refused. He prefers studying spells.
And in stark contrast to his magical talent, his melee combat skills are extremely poor.
But I believe that under the baptism of Holy Light, with rigorous training, he can still become a qualified Paladin," Uther said.
Terenas nodded upon hearing this. Having a weakness was a good thing; if he were too perfect, it would be detrimental to Arthas.
"Terenas, Rhodes has been getting very close to Lady Jaina, the princess of Kul Tiras, recently," Uther said.
Although Rhodes mostly ignored Jaina along the way, Uther could tell that the Kul Tiras princess was very fond of this young man named Rhodes.
When a beautiful girl sets her sights on a man, that man generally can't escape. The collision of dry wood and fierce fire can very easily ignite a blaze.
When young people act impulsively, they often cause irreparable disaster.
"Oh! That certainly is a problem." The old king's expression darkened slightly upon hearing this.
Jaina, the princess of Kul Tiras, was his pre-selected queen for Arthas.
An alliance through marriage between Lordaeron and Kul Tiras would further solidify the position of The Menethil Family.
Both sets of parents intended to facilitate this, and had it not been for that foolish action by that idiot boy Arthas a few years ago, Jaina might have already married into the Lordaeron royal family.
If this princess were to be whisked away by an unknown Titan emissary, it would not be a good thing for Lordaeron.
Furthermore, although Arthas never explicitly said it, Terenas could tell his son was quite fond of Jaina.
"Uther, roughly how old is this young man named Rhodes?" Terenas seemed to have thought of something and asked.
"Your Majesty the King, Rhodes' age is about the same as Arthas', only a few years difference!" Uther replied.
After spending this time together, Uther judged that Rhodes was not very old.
"Hmm! Do you think if I showed him favor by granting him a noble title and then recruited him to become the husband of the Princess of Lordaeron, he would agree?" Terenas asked tactfully.
For a talent like him, joining The Menethil Family would yield the greatest benefits.
Becoming a noble, or becoming Arthas' brother-in-law—his own son-in-law—would be the best choice.
"??? Your Majesty the King, this... as far as I know, Princess Calia is already married!
Do you have a second daughter?" Uther asked.
As far as he knew, ever since Grand Lord Prestor disappeared, the Princess had fallen for an ordinary Lordaeron guard and even given birth to a daughter.
"Alas, my poor daughter. You may not know that her husband passed away not long ago," Terenas sighed and said.
His daughter's marriage was indeed unhappy. Lord Prestor was originally a suitable candidate, but who knew that this great noble of Alterac would mysteriously disappear!
Furthermore, according to some investigative reports by Archmage Rhonin later on, he suspected that Lord Prestor's identity was not simple, and that he might even have been a black dragon in disguise.
A few years ago, Calia fell in love with a palace guard. Terenas had always considered this a royal scandal, so he never made it public.
Although he tacitly allowed the relationship between the guard and his daughter, the marriage was not blessed.
The recently erupted Undead Plague gave this guard a glimmer of hope.
He wanted to earn merit in this war, officially become a Lordaeron noble, and marry Princess Calia. Thus, he volunteered to go to the front lines, and his death was reported just a few days ago.
"Terenas, I cannot make that judgment. Moreover, the Princess has just lost her husband; it might not be appropriate for her to marry again right now," Uther said.
He could understand Terenas' thinking—having Rhodes join The Menethil Family was certainly greatly beneficial—but Princess Calia was clearly not suitable!
