Chapter 61 - Antonidas

Archmage Antonidas was an old man who looked over 60, with white hair and a long white beard, somewhat resembling Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings.

"Master Antonidas, I have returned," Jaina respectfully greeted her teacher with a mage's bow.

"My young apprentice, it seems you have completed the task I gave you. Now tell me everything you've investigated!

And introduce me to this young man beside you," Antonidas nodded and then asked Jaina.

"Yes, teacher, it's like this: Arthas and I went to Andorhal to investigate the plague and met Rhodes... I couldn't stop Arthas from slaughtering the civilians of Stratholme... After that... we went to the Tomb of Tyr... After staying in Lordaeron for a few days, I brought Rhodes back to Dalaran," Jaina partially recounted the events that had transpired.

The source of the Undead Plague, the traitor of Dalaran's Kirin Tor, Kel'Thuzad, a traitor of the Council of Six, the miraculous magic Rhodes displayed after they met, and his powerful ability to learn spells.

His identity as an envoy of the Titan Keeper, and how the Titan Keeper guided everyone to the Tomb of Tyr to acquire the silver hand warhammer and clear out the Faceless General within.

Listening to his apprentice's experiences during this period, Archmage Antonidas also gasped, as these experiences were comparable to those of a Guardian.

Moreover, a Dreadlord actually appeared here; these fellows are demons, minions of the Burning Legion. The High Elves' records of the War of the Ancients contain accounts of how they once invaded this world!

Damn it!

If it truly involves the Burning Legion, then this matter should be resolved by the Guardian, but Aegwynn, that traitor, she usurped the power that belonged to Dalaran, to all humanity, to protect Azeroth.

She turned the power passed down by the council into a family's power.

As a result, her son brought a formidable enemy, the Orcs, to humanity, causing immense disaster to this world.

This led to the Dalaran Council losing its most powerful weapon, the Guardian.

"My apprentice, your experiences have truly astonished me: the traitor of the Kirin Tor Council, a Dreadlord, and a Titan Keeper!

These pieces of information are more shocking than the last. I need to convene the other members of the Council of Six to discuss how to handle this matter.

You take this mage Rhodes and let him rest in Dalaran for a while! We will come up with a concrete result," Antonidas said.

The other members of the Council of Six must be summoned to thoroughly discuss how to deal with this incident. Is it an accidental demonic invasion, or does the Burning Legion have a planned invasion of this world once again?

"Yes, teacher, I will arrange for Rhodes," Jaina nodded.

"Hmm! Rhodes, would you be willing to register as a mage of Dalaran? We have no mandatory requirements here; you can obtain the identity of a Dalaran mage," Antonidas looked at Rhodes and asked.

"Respected mage Antonidas, I have currently accepted the enfeoffment of the Kingdom of Lordaeron and am now a Baron of the Kingdom of Lordaeron!

Furthermore, Lord Uther has also expressed interest in inviting me to join the Knights of the Silver Hand, but I seem to have no talent in combat," Rhodes subtly explained his situation.

He had to state his identity first, lest Dalaran try to take advantage of him, such as forcibly demanding his magic items.

"Hmm! A Dalaran mage is just an identity registration. We won't force members to do anything, as long as they don't research evil spells."

This envoy, appointed by the Titan Keeper, still needed to be courted. If it truly involved the Burning Legion, then the Titan Keeper would also be a powerful ally.

"Agree, Rhodes, what you need to do next will greatly require this Dalaran identity," Jaina whispered from the side.

Rhodes nodded at the words.

"In that case, Lord Antonidas, I am willing to register as a mage in Dalaran."

"Hmm! I will have someone come to register your information shortly. After becoming a registered mage of Dalaran, you can legally purchase some of Dalaran's magical resources.

You can accept some quests, receive rewards such as gold coins, magic materials, or even some spells, or find a teacher," Antonidas said.

Can also take quests? Isn't this just like player adventurers?

However, if he wanted to learn spells, he didn't need a master. He could continuously 'harvest' Jaina! Or learn magic from future opponents.

"I understand, Master Antonidas."

After Rhodes agreed to register as a Dalaran mage, Antonidas waved his hand, letting Jaina take Rhodes away.

The two found the office staff on the lower floor of the mage tower and completed the mage identity registration.

Rhodes also received a Dalaran mage ID card. With this ID card, he could freely enter and exit Dalaran in the future. After mastering teleportation magic, he could obtain a Dalaran spatial coordinate.

He could accept or post quests at the mage Guild. Overall, this identity was very convenient.

"Jaina! When are we going to find a qualified jeweler to help set the holy light crystal?" Rhodes asked after completing the identity registration.

"Rhodes, I'll take you to see Kael'thas first!" Jaina said.

To enchant the Great Emperor's weapon and set the holy light crystal, they would need the prince's help. Ordinary artisans and enchanters could not complete this work.

Rhodes nodded and followed Jaina to meet Kael'thas. Along the way, the two walked and chatted, and Jaina began to introduce Rhodes to some of Dalaran's local customs.

"Rhodes, you must remember, your Fire Elemental summoning magic scroll is very precious. If Kael'thas or anyone else asks you for it.

Do not agree to any conditions they propose. At a critical moment, you can say it was lent to you by the Titan Keeper, understand?" Jaina said meaningfully.

Some things had to be specifically explained. This Fire Elemental summoning scroll was very precious.

Such a miraculous magic item could not be measured by money. Even after the meeting of her teacher and the members of the Kirin Tor Council of Six, the council might also set their sights on this magic scroll.

That's why she had Rhodes register as a mage. Coupled with his identity as a Lordaeron Baron, it could prevent certain individuals from openly seizing it.

"I understand, Jaina."

No wonder she wanted me to register as a mage! An innocent man is guilty only when he possesses a treasure.
