"Katherine, could you be a dear and come here so we can try to find out what is happening with the sudden situation we have at hand?"
"Why? What situation?"
"Let's just say that my sister is starting to go mad..." Elijah subtly smiled at his little sister.
Rebekah sent him a nasty look at his words.
"What do you mean? Your sister has always been a crazy bitch to start with." Katherine snickered, but there was a bit of worry in her eyes as she looked at herself in the mirror.
"That slut! How dare she—" Rebekah started snapping in outrage at her words, but Elijah silenced her midway, muffling her sounds with his hand, blocking her mouth.
"She is going for real this time as she is suddenly starting to hear things."
"What kind of 'things,' Elijah?"
"Things like a boy speaking."
Katherine was really weirded out, but she still stood up, intending to go to their meeting as she couldn't find anything so far in her own research about the tattoo. "I'm on my way."
"Thank you." Elijah said as he turned off his phone. Just then, Rebekah's phone rang, and she answered.
"What do you want, Nik? Now isn't a good time."
"An update on our search for the elusive cure."
"Let's just say that things have gotten complicated. In fact, why don't you speak to one of those complications? Here." She handed the phone to Elijah.
"Complication speaking." Elijah said.
"Oh, big brother, at last you join the fray."
"Somebody had to take charge. And now that I have, I've got the cure, and I'm bringing it back to Mystic Falls."
"With a long list of demands, I assume?"
"Not that long."
"Come home, brother. We'll settle this like family."
"We will go in a while. I have a matter at hand here with our sister."
"What kind of problem could Rebekah have if not wanting the cure for herself? Don't give in to her whims, brother. Come back quickly, she will get over it soon." Klaus dismissed him quickly as anything related to Rebekah wasn't as urgent as having the cure in his hands. The damn Silas was making him extremely worried and paranoid as he could toy with him as he pleased.
"That is one, but there is a new one that suddenly presented itself."
"And what could this be?" Klaus pursed his lips.
"She is presenting a sort of mark on her body that appeared, and now she started hearing things."
"Fantastic! If she was already a pain in the ass to deal with, now she will be extraordinary." Klaus laughed at hearing that.
"What an ass! He didn't even care about it or take it seriously." Rebekah frowned.
"Klaus! This isn't funny. She could be being targeted by something or someone that isn't scared of acting against an Original or our family."
Klaus's smile disappeared, and he sighed. "Alright, I will be awaiting your return. Hurry up!" he said and cut their call as Caroline appeared.
Elijah then looked at Rebekah. "How are you feeling? Are you still hearing this voice now?"
"I feel great... and no, I don't hear it."
["I feel great too, thanks for not asking, by the way."]
Rebekah's face paled even more than it already was. "I hear it again!" She screeched.
"What did it say?"
"I feel great too, thanks for not asking, by the way."
Katherine's voice suddenly sounded as she suddenly appeared, speaking instead of Rebekah.
"Katherine." Elijah greeted her.
"You can hear it too?" Rebekah looked at her side with wide eyes.
Katherine was disturbed by being able to hear that boy's voice too. "I can."
"Mhm... It seems this is a problem that you two are sharing at the same time, which means you both are sort of linked to this 'something'."
"Could this be a 'possession'?" Katherine quickly came up with an idea.
["Maybe it could be."] The voice snickered at her words.
Rebekah sent a ridiculing smile at her. Katherine rolled her eyes at her gesture and said to Elijah, "It definitely is someone messing with us consciously."
Elijah frowned. "So the mark links you both to him or this 'something' that is actually listening to us."
"What do you want from them?" he asked.
["Nothing. But now that you are asking kindly, if you could be a dear, I wouldn't get mad if you were to destroy the cure."]
"No! The cure is for me to take and become human once again." Rebekah quickly said angrily.
["Cease those stupid thoughts already."] The voice sighed tiredly.
"Never!"
"Katherine?" Elijah looked at her.
"The voice wants the cure to be destroyed and it appears he doesn't have evil intentions with us, according to what he says, but I don't believe it. Why link to us in the first place if he isn't plotting something against us or intending to use us?"
["You are thinking too much, stop being so paranoid..."]
"Why do you want the cure to be destroyed?" Elijah asked.
["It's better if there is no cure. There is no need for one."]
"He doesn't want the cure to exist." Katherine told him.
"Brother, give me the cure."
"We will go back home and see how we deal with this matter there." Elijah said to his sister as he got into the driver's seat of his car.
"Ugh." Rebekah huffed and got inside, then she turned around and looked at the back seat. "What are you doing?"
"Coming with you both?" Katherine stated the obvious.
"Why?" Rebekah stared at her.
"Because we are linked to something. Are you dumb or what?"
Elijah quickly stopped his sister from having an outburst at Katherine. "Rebekah, we would need her to deal with this something that is currently residing in you both. Given that he can't do anything more than to speak to you both at the moment, it is a good moment to deal with him before he destroys the cure with your hand or hers."
["..."]
"Fine!"

..
Mystic Falls, Bonnie's house.
"Bonnie, wake up!"
"I don't understand."
"Open your eyes. Bonnie, open your eyes!"
Bonnie wakes up and sees the couch on fire. "Oh my god!" she quickly puts out the fire.
*knock* *knock* *knock*
As she takes a breath to calm down, her door is knocked.
*knock*
Bonnie gulps, trying to breathe.
*knock* *knock*
"Coming!" she yells as she stands up and moves to the entrance.
Bonnie looks at the three unexpected visitors and asks, dubious, "Elena?"
"What are you doing here?" Her voice is filled with clear distrust, her eyes defensive.
"Hi, sweet Bonnie. We need your witchy expertise," Katherine smiles sweetly at her.
Bonnie quickly recognizes the 'Elena' in front of her. "You are not Elena. You are Katherine."
"You have come to the wrong witch. I'm not going to help any of you," Bonnie states firmly. She looks at Katherine and yells, "I'm certainly not helping you after what you did to Jeremy!"
"I didn't technically kill Jeremy, little Bonnie. It was Silas, the one you were helping all this time," Katherine retorts.
Bonnie looks at her, outraged.
"Bonnie, this matter could be related to Silas, so it's better if you help us deal with it," Elijah tries to persuade her.
Bonnie looks at the three of them and struggles for a moment before nodding. She wants to deal with Silas for using her, for killing Jeremy, and for everything that's happening.
"Are you going to let us in?" Rebekah smiles.
"No," Bonnie denies them. "I will take a look here. What is the problem?"
"There is something that is currently possessing Rebekah and Katherine through a mark they both share on their necks. Could you take a look at it?"
"And how is this 'possession' related to Silas? For all I care, I wouldn't mind if they both stay like this."
"That's the problem, Bonnie. Maybe it is Silas. This possession speaks from time to time, and only they both can hear his voice. He says that he wants the cure to be destroyed, but who knows? Maybe it is just a trick to get hold of it."
Bonnie gives Katherine a hard stare and moves to look at Rebekah instead of her, already having made a decision. She observes the mark and can feel strong magic from it, nothing like something she has ever seen before. She tries to examine it, touching it, and starts feeling her magic being siphoned from her, growing weaker little by little and increasing in speed the more contact she has. She then tries to probe into it with her magic but feels nothing. Instead, her magic is being drained quickly, alarming her as she removes her fingers from Rebekah's neck.
"How have you both come to have this mark?"
"I drank the fake cure decoy of Katherine and passed out," Rebekah explains.
"It was only my blood, Rebekah. There was nothing else in there," Katherine interjects.
"So you just drank Katherine's blood and you had this mark?" Bonnie asks, bewildered.
"It seems some sort of magic is involved too. When it happened, at that moment, a spike of magic knocked out Stefan and Damon unconscious," Rebekah adds.
"And you, how have you come to have this mark?" Bonnie looks at Katherine.
"It suddenly branded on me as I was meeting Elijah. I felt a sharp pain in my neck, followed by feeling weak and tired. Soon, I felt warm and happy out of nowhere. Now that I think about it, it must have been at the same moment that Rebekah took it," Katherine recalls.
"I experienced the same feeling of being drained when I woke up. Ever since, I have been feeling hungry and tired. Also, I have been feeling this sense of happiness and warmth coursing through my body... The feeling gets stronger as I touch my belly," Rebekah confesses.
"I have a similar feeling, and it got stronger after being beside Rebekah, but the tiredness didn't come back after that moment," Katherine adds. She then tries to touch Rebekah's belly after hearing her words. The moment she touches her, she trembles, her body going soft from the happiness and emotions that fill her.
"What are you doing?" Rebekah shrieks as she moves away from Katherine's hand.
Katherine rolls her eyes at her reaction. "I felt the feelings magnified after touching her belly."
After hearing them, Bonnie tells them what she thinks. "Look, I can't look into the mark. As soon as I touched it, it started draining my magic, and when I tried to probe into it, it started sucking me dry quickly. You both are linked somehow to something that used a strong magic that I haven't seen before, and I can almost be sure that it isn't Silas."
"If he were capable of it, I would already be marked by him now as he wants to use me for his plans. Rebekah must be feeling tired because it must be draining her, making her feel hungry. It seems the focus of this something is in her, and Katherine could be its second option. If there is something wanting to take her body or yours and hasn't done yet, it must mean that it can't, at least not at the moment. Now, with that said, I'm sorry, but I can't help you further as I have other more urgent problems to take care of."
She closes the door in their faces without waiting for them to answer. If it wasn't related to Silas, she doesn't care about their problems. What's more, she would be happy if they could just disappear.
...
....
.
A while later, they went to Klaus' mansion, where Elijah, Rebekah, Katherine, and Klaus were sitting at a table. Whereas everyone was having a drink, Rebekah was instead feasting on food as she felt so hungry, desiring human food instead of blood.
"So...can you tell me again, why I shouldn't just kill our dear Katerina sitting here?" Klaus smiled charmingly at her and then at Elijah.
Katherine was on pins and needles looking at him. "I gave the cure to Elijah to broker a deal for my freedom with you."
"Oh, but here is the thing, dear. I don't have the cure on hand, so there is no deal between us." Klaus ridiculed her words.
"Elijah?" Katherine looked at him.
"Look, Klaus, we need to first analyze the situation at hand before deciding what to do with the cure, don't you think so?"
"No! I don't think so, Elijah. Give me the cure, and Katherine will not be harmed again." Klaus growled. He wanted the damn thing to have one hand at least to deal with Silas.
Rebekah stopped midway from finishing eating a bucket of crispy chicken legs as she cleaned her lips with a napkin and instead, pleaded with him. "Elijah, I need the cure, please!"
"Being human means a fresh start. I can grow old and have a family and fill my days with meaning, knowing that each one matters."
"Well, that was poetic," Klaus ridiculed her. Katherine laughed at her wishes but didn't comment about it.
"But seeing how you are devouring that food, sister. I believe if you were to become human, you would die from a cardiac arrest."
Katherine could hold her laughter as she guffawed.
Rebekah stared at Katherine ferociously as if wanting to kill her, making her stop. She then looked at Klaus. "Don't be mean with me. I'm feeling so hungry because of the mark."
"I don't know, sister. I don't see Katerina wanting to devour human food like you right now."
Elijah sighed and cut off their meaningless fight. "Well, if you can provide us with a more compelling reason for wanting the cure, Klaus, please."
"Silas can appear as anyone. He got inside my thoughts and convinced me I was dying; he will torment me until I give him the cure."
"And in doing so, he will break down the wall to the other side," Rebekah retorted to his words.
"So it doesn't trap him there when he dies. He wants to reunite with his lost soul mate. You, of all lovesick fools, should applaud his devotion."
"I haven't seen you scared like this before, Klaus. Silas must have left you with a great impression of him." Katherine mocked him.
"Careful, sweetheart. Not killing you right now is because I don't know what it would do to my sister if you were to die right now."
Katherine trembled a little and looked away.
"He will open the floodgates for every supernatural being that has ever died," Rebekah continued.
"Including our dear brothers Kol and Finn. We'll have our family back."
"Please! You hated Kol. And you kept Finn in a box for most of his life."
Klaus looked at his brother instead of retorting to his sister's words. "Elijah, please, see to reason!"
"Your personal discomfort might not be a sufficient reason for putting the entire world in jeopardy, Klaus. I think our sister deserves a shot at happiness."
Klaus was enraged. "Tell me you're joking. Tell me you're not fating me to an eternity of torture."
"I've made my decision."
"I don't think so, brother." Klaus moved fast behind Katherine before they could react and penetrated her chest, grabbing hold of her heart.
"Aaahh!!!" Katherine cried out in pain as she felt despair about her impending death.
"Klaus!" Rebekah and Elijah yelled in surprise.
"Now, give me the cure, dear brother. Unless you want Katerina here to die."
"Klaus!" Elijah was surprised and enraged seeing him do that to Katherine. "Let's calm down, release Katerina, and we can talk about it again."
"No! You have made your decision, and I have made mine. Give me the cure."
"Wait!"
"The cure, Elijah!"
"Fine." Elijah conceded, seeing the distorted face of pain of Katerina. He reached inside his suit and took the little box with the cure.
As Elijah was about to give Klaus the box, a sudden surge of magic from Katherine's body exploded intensely.
"Aaghh!!!" Klaus yelled in pain as he was sent flying into the wall, grabbing his head in pain as he felt his body melting down inside him, blood pouring out of his orifices, leaving a trail from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose.
["Grab the box quickly and run!"] The boy's voice sounded, waking Katherine from her stupor.
'I can't move,' Elijah thought as he could do nothing but watch in wonder how Klaus was sent flying to the wall.
"WHAT IS THIS?!!!" Klaus yelled in horror, feeling a pain worse than the one Silas had inflicted on him before.
"Wait!" Rebekah went crazy after hearing the voice.
Katherine, meanwhile, had already done as told and grabbed the box from Elijah's hand and ran away for her life.
As soon as Katherine left the place, the pain in Klaus ceased, leaving him a panting mess of sweat and blood, kneeling on the floor.
"What was that?" He yelled.
"Damn! Don't do anything to the cure, you damn thing! It is my chance to be human again!" Rebekah also shrieked indignantly.
["...."]
"You hear me? Whoever you are! I want the cure!"
"It seems that whoever is messing with Rebekah and Katherine is a lot more powerful than we thought," Elijah said as he moved beside Klaus.
"Can you move, Klaus?"
"Yes..." Klaus shakingly replied as he started healing. He thought that he was about to die, his whole being melting down.
"It seems there is no cure for any of us anymore, little sister."
Rebekah started yelling again, but the voice didn't make its presence known. Angrily she took another crispy chicken leg and continued eating.
"Silas will continue to torment me." Klaus spoke with a bit of despair laced in his voice.
"You've survived endless torments throughout the centuries. You'll shake this. And if you can't, you outrun him."
"If it were that simple."
"Why are you acting like a little girl?" Rebekah angrily yelled at him.
.....
Katherine ran far away from the house without a clear destination.
["Now, destroy the cure."]
Katherine stopped and got hold of herself as she calmed down. "Why should I?"
["Because I saved your life."]
"It doesn't seem worth it to me to just simply destroy it. Having hold of it means having your protection. Don't you think so?"
["..."]
["You are such a...cunning girl."]
Katherine's lips raised into a satisfied smile. "Thanks for your compliment."
["Let's make a deal."] The voice sounded as if it were in thought and thinking about it.
"Let's hear your proposal."
["Destroy the cure, and Klaus or anyone else wouldn't have the chance to threaten you anymore."]
"And how can you say or promise something like that? Huh?" Katherine didn't believe his words.
["I think you have already seen what I am capable of doing. It should have already proven my point."]
"Fine. Let's say that you are a really strong being. How can I be sure that you would hold up your part of the deal?"
["You will need to trust me."]
"..." Katherine was silent before making a decision. "How do we destroy this cure?"
...
...
...
Rebekah left the mansion in an irritated mood, returning to her house where Elena lounged lazily on a sofa.
"Well, hello. Look who's back home," Elena greeted her.
Rebekah glanced at her briefly, then ignored her. "Not now, Elena."
"What happened? Why are you acting like a bitch who was rejected by her prom date?"
"There is no more cure, and now I can't be human anymore."
"How? What happened to it?" Elena rose from the couch and moved beside her.
"Katherine took it with the help of the damn voice." Rebekah huffed.
"The voice? What is that?" Elena looked at her weirdly, not understanding.
"Oh, right, you don't know the latest news." Rebekah touched her forehead with her hand.
........
Elena and Rebekah walked through the shopping streets.
"Anyway, you wouldn't have endured more than a day being human before dying," Elena said as they walked.
"You don't know that!" Rebekah pursed her lips. "And now I'll never know."
"Why did you want to be human anyway?"
"I wanted to be a mother! Have days that feel fulfilling, taking care of my child, and experience a beautiful and romantic human love."
"A child? You?" Elena looked at her skeptically.
"Yeah... Why are you looking at me like that?"
"You would be the worst mother to have, Rebekah."
"You don't know that!" Rebekah retorted, not believing it. "I would be the best, I'm sure of it."
"And why should I listen to you? You don't even have your humanity."
"You realize you won't even be able to compel your child into loving you, right?"
Rebekah rolled her eyes. "Yes, and last time I checked, you're living in my house because I'm the only one that can tolerate you, so you don't have to be so rude."
"Then instead of being depressed about the cure since there's nothing else to do about it, focus on the prom tonight. Weren't you saying you wanted to experience what it felt like going to prom? Now's your chance."
"Yeah... you're right. At least I'll experience prom."
"I'm going to come with you. I'll keep an eye on you and make sure you become prom queen."
Rebekah rolled her eyes at her.
"At least now, no one will be able to use it on me." Elena chuckled. "Now, let's look for a good dress." She said as they entered a boutique.
......
...
...
A few hours later, at night, Rebekah arrived at the prom in Mystic Falls' High School. She smiled, experiencing her first prom and believing it was a great way to feel what it meant to live a milestone in a normal human girl's life. She had prepared beautifully for the occasion, sporting a strapless dress that showed and accentuated her hot figure, along with a cute flower ornament in her smooth hair, which was swept to one side and fell loosely.
Damon, Elena, and Stefan also arrived at the prom. As Elena walked through the place, the Salvatore brothers followed her like her shadow until Elena separated from them after having a heated exchange with Damon. He had bothered her for trying to have a drink, and soon she exchanged even harsher words with Bonnie and Matt, who appeared in front of her.
Bonnie and Matt smiled at her.
"Uh-oh. Friend patrol," Elena ridiculed them instead of greeting them nicely.
Bonnie nevertheless smiled at her. "Hey. I know we haven't really talked since... everything, but I just... I want to say that I miss you."
"Me too, and we want to help you," Matt also expressed his feelings for his friend.
Elena rolled her eyes. "What are you gonna do... get me a job at the grill?"
Matt's lips twitched. "I don't want you to look back and realize you missed out on the best part of senior year."
"Spare me, Matt. If you had the choice, you would have turned your emotions off the second that Vicki died." Elena gave him a cutting remark, leaving him speechless.
Bonnie looked at her with empathy. "Hey, you shut it off because all you could feel were the horrible things happening to you. You still have friends who love you."
Elena, however, was having none of Bonnie's supportive speech. "I thought you were going to bring Jeremy back, but it turned out you were just a brainwashed crazy person, so technically, you're a walking reminder of all the horrible things that have happened to me."
She left them without awaiting a response, soon catching up with Rebekah, who was devouring snacks while sitting at a table.
"What are you doing?" Elena asked her with a raised eyebrow, seeing her ravenous appetite.
"Eating..." Rebekah looked up at her as she finished a snack.
"I know... Everyone can see that..." Elena stated the obvious.
"I felt hungry... thought of having a little snack." Rebekah innocently looked at her.
"This isn't how a normal human girl spends her prom night, Rebekah. This is how a failed night would look, with a girl crying her heart out while eating to relieve her sadness and depression."
"Well, if you haven't taken notice of it yet, I have no one to dance with!" Rebekah angrily said.
"And? Go look for the one you like the most and compel him to dance."
"Girls..." Stefan suddenly appeared and then grabbed Elena. "Let's go have a dance, Elena." He said as he forcefully pulled her away.
"Ugh..." Rebekah huffed.
["Why don't you go and have a dance with someone? Or with none at all, just shake your body for a while. It's so sad seeing you alone here, only sitting and eating while the rest are dancing or chatting with someone."]
["You are such a beautiful girl to be like this."]
Rebekah blushed a little in embarrassment at his words but also with warm happiness that filled her soft and fragile heart. "You finally spoke!" She said through gritted teeth.
"What happened with the cure?"
["There is no more cure. Katherine destroyed it. There is no need to thank me for the good deed. You are a splendid vampire and woman as you are; there is nothing needed to change anything at all."] The voice sounded complacent.
"You... You bloody bastard!" Rebekah angrily lashed out. "You have destroyed my only chance to have my dream fulfilled."
["What was your dream?"] The voice inquired.
"To be human! Have children!"
["Ugh... Woman, being human is shit compared to being a vampire, even more so an Original such as yourself. Children may bring you temporary happiness, but you know that you need to tend to them daily at all hours for a couple of years without rest? Imagine that while being a fragile human. Only for them to later grow and not care anymore about you, their mother? That's what you want?"]
"You... You had no right to deprive me of the chance to try it! It is my choice if I want that."
["Well, there is no more cure. So look for another desire, or maybe decide to adopt a cat or a puppy. It's a similar experience."]
["Now, go and dance."]
"I hate you..." Rebekah sighed in annoyance at his words and not being able to do anything about it. She soon spotted Matt, and her interest perked up as she stood and moved beside him while he was pouring punch for himself and Bonnie.
["What do you want with this retard? Couldn't you have picked a better choice to try to dance with?"]
Rebekah almost stumbled as she walked, hearing the voice's words. It seemed he didn't like Matt.
"So, are you and Bonnie, like, a thing?" Rebekah started the chat with a shy little nervous smile.
Matt, seeing that it was Rebekah, continued pouring the punch into a glass as he answered her without much interest. "We're not a thing. We're friends. So who are you here with?"
Rebekah had a depressed face. "No one."
"Go on. I know what you're thinking... Why didn't I just compel myself a date?"
"You know, actually I was thinking, I wonder if Bonnie wants ice." He said with a non-caring attitude towards her.
["What a piece of shit. Tell him to go to hell."]
Rebekah's lips pursed into a small smile. Seeing Matt about to leave, she retained him. "Oh. Could I ask you a question?"
"Why? Apparently, you already seem to know everything I'm thinking, so..."
["Can I kill him?"]
"No!" Rebekah quickly yelled, hearing his words.
"Okay...?" Matt looked at her weirdly at her abrupt outburst.
Rebekah coughed. "I mean, I don't know. So, I would like to know."
"Do you think that I would make a good human?"
"I think that 'good' is a hard word to live up to. I've never seen you do anything remotely good, so... honestly, no, I don't. I'm sorry."
Rebekah was left shocked and really hurt at his answer.
["What does he know? He is just a retarded asshole, being part of the lower spectrum of what is considered human, that only lives to release CO2 into the atmosphere."] The voice spoke indignantly and angrily.
["Why do you even care about his opinion? He isn't worth it."]
["I would have killed him already if it wasn't for you. That already should make you a good human for saving his life."]
Rebekah smiled. "Why are you being so nice to me?" She inquired, feeling less depressed and sad.
["There has to be a 'why' for someone to be nice to you?"]
"I don't know, for all my life not a lot of people were good to me. I can count them with the fingers of my hands." Rebekah depressedly commented.
["You were only knowing the wrong people through your life; it's part of living. You see? You don't need to be human to experience things."]
"I'm feeling jealous right now, you know? You are not so nice with me as you are with dumb blondie here," Katherine's voice sounded as she appeared wearing a revealing dress that showed her hot body.
["..."]
"I can see you have your favorites." Katherine scoffed, seeing that he didn't speak.
"What are you doing here, bitch?"
"What? Can't I experience prom night?" Katherine snickered as she poured herself a punch.
"I should kill you for destroying the cure!"
"Try it." Katherine looked at her with her chin high. "You will not be able to. Our mysterious guy will protect me."
She then softly caressed the mark on Rebekah's neck.
"Ugh..." Rebekah moved away in disgust as she left angrily. Katherine's lips stretched into a smile as she saw Rebekah's departing back, sipping from her cup. Then she looked at Elena and the Salvatore brothers, already seeing good amusement for the night.
Rebekah found April as she was checking the cards with the votes.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm seeing who is the lucky girl who would become prom queen."
Rebekah's eyes lit up. "You are seeing the next prom queen. Obviously, it would be me."
April rolled her eyes at her. "I can't just make you prom queen. It is based on votes. And you have approximately none so far."
"And you can't just help out a friend?"
"No, I can't. And you can't make me; I drink vervain tea now."
"I was not going to compel you." Rebekah felt awkward at her insinuation.
Elena suddenly appeared and strangled April.
"You can't be compelled, but you can be killed. Rebekah wins prom queen, got it?"
"What the bloody hell are you doing?"
"What you were about to do."
Rebekah looked at her with wide eyes. "I was not going to threaten her."
"Remember that time you tortured me until I told you how to find the cure? You ruined my relationship with Stefan, and then you trapped us with a werewolf?"
"Yeah. So?" Rebekah didn't find fault in it.
"So, you're not a good person. You're not gonna win this prom queen by trying to be nice; no one is gonna vote for you. So just stand there and refrain from talking while I help you instead, okay?"
Rebekah's face fell as she once again felt like shit.
"Also, what is the evil bitch of Katherine doing here?"
"Experiencing prom night." Rebekah felt tired already of this prom.
"And what are you waiting for?"
"Waiting for what?"
"To kill her, duh. She destroyed your chance at being human once again." Elena looked at her as if it were obvious.
"I'm not gonna kill her... Even if I wished to do so."
"Why?"
"Because I can't."
"Why?" Elena pressed again.
"He will protect her."
Elena, a bit annoyed, left as Rebekah stayed again sitting alone.
Why are you sitting again? Go to dance.
"I'm tired of hearing you. I don't have a partner! What part of it don't you understand?"
["..."]
A burst of magic was released from Rebekah's body, making her feel a bit weaker as the magic materialized into a handsome young man with light brown hair and blue eyes, tall and fit.
"I can be your partner then, if you are not gonna look for one nor dance on your own."
"You... You..." Rebekah stuttered, seeing the attractive young man. A blush crept into her cheeks as her heart accelerated, beating like a drum, filling her with happiness and warmth at the same time.
"Fine."
"Good." The young man smirked at her as he extended his hand for hers.
Rebekah felt like a little girl with butterflies in her belly as she took his hand, not knowing why.
Soon, the two made their way to the dance floor as they started dancing along with the rest of the people.
The young man took Rebekah closely to his body as they danced really close, his hand hovering over her waist as they moved.
Rebekah was feeling a lot of emotions running wild at this moment... Things she had never experienced before. She looked at his face, attentively taking note of his good features that made her appreciate him with gusto; her blush deepening, she was like a tomato.
"Who are you?" Rebekah asked shyly with a soft voice.
"I don't know. I don't have a name."
She raised an eyebrow at that.
"Then, what are you?"
"An illusion... well... at this moment."
"So, you are not real?" Rebekah inquired with a voice filled with disappointment, unknown to her.
The young man chuckled, perceiving Rebekah's changes. "At least for now."
Rebekah raised an eyebrow to his words. "What do you want from me? Or from the slut of Katherine?"
"Nothing... Nothing at all..."
"Why have you linked to us, then?"
"I had no word in it. It just happened."
"Well... To tell you the truth, I hated you." Rebekah coyly said. "But now, I'm starting to like it... These feelings... and... company..." She brightly looked at him.
"But don't get it wrong... I still hate you a bit for destroying the cure." She added, avoiding his dashing smile that sent her heart into turmoil.
"Well, to also tell you the truth, I'm having a good time with you, Rebekah. You are gorgeous and a good girl."
Rebekah smiled.
........
"What is Rebekah doing?" Damon asked Katherine as they were dancing.
"Dancing." She said as her eyes brightened with curiosity and something more as she looked at the young man dancing with Rebekah, she even felt a bit jealous.
"Yeah, I can see that. But why is she dancing alone like that? As if she were dancing with someone."
"That's kinda creepy."
"Who knows? She always was a crazy bitch to start with." Katherine shrugged it off, not telling him about the young man.
Suddenly, the place came to a stop in Katherine's perception as everything froze. She looked at Damon, and he was the same. Then, footsteps started sounding as something approached her.
"Where is the cure?" A hoarse voice sounded as a man with a mask appeared beside her.
"Who are you?" Katherine asked defensively and was weirded out about what was happening.
"We have met already, Katherine. You woke me up."
"Silas." Katherine's eyes opened wide.
"Where is the cure?"
"There is no cure anymore. It is gone." Katherine stated firmly without a shred of hesitation.
"What have you done? Damn stupid fool!!!" The man angrily yelled. "You are gonna pay for your foolishness!"
Silas angrily cast on Katherine his inflicting pain spell, trying to make her suffer in agony as her internal organs and tissues started to burst and liquefy till death. But soon he perceived that something was wrong; his magic was being drained as soon as it touched Katherine's body.
"You..." He looked at her in wonder.
"It seems you are not so capable anymore, the big bad immortal Silas." Katherine ridiculed him.
"You are a siphoner?" Silas looked at her, understanding something. "But you shouldn't have been able to do it."
He observed her for a moment before finding the source of it. "That mark. That's it – the one siphoning my magic."
A clap of hands sounded as the young man that was with Rebekah, frozen in the distance, appeared beside them. "You are quite perceptive."
"Who are you?" Silas asked suspiciously.
"Someone you don't need to know. I destroyed the cure." He smiled at Silas. "There was no need for it to exist. After all, who wants to be mortal?"
"I! I want to be mortal and die!!!" Silas raged with all his might, trying to cast spells at them, but they were for nothing as they were siphoned by the young man.
"Damn you!"
"I can kill you if that's what you want."
"No! I don't want to become a prisoner of her! You ruined everything after so many years of planning!"
"Oh, don't despair, Silas. You have one more chance to continue with your endeavor."
Silas looked at him attentively as he was having a crisis.
"Look for the people of the Gemini Coven and take the cure that is resting in your tomb from the prison world they made, or try to access it in your own if you are capable. That's your only shot."
"A prison world?" Silas muttered as he pondered his words. "This is not the end of it."
He left a few last words as the illusion crumbled, and Katherine found herself still dancing hand in hand with Damon.
"Katherine?" Damon asked, seeing her empty look.
"Nothing. I was thinking about something." She said as she continued peeking at Rebekah and the young man dancing even more intimately than before. 'Slut!' Katherine yelled in her mind as she saw how Rebekah was rubbing herself all over him.
Soon she opened her eyes wide, seeing how Rebekah took hold of his hand and pulled him along as they left the prom without looking back.
