"Laird, round up every scumbag in Maplewood Town dealing in human trafficking, illegal surrogacy, and egg smuggling. Lock them all up," I ordered into the phone, my tone arctic.
"Make sure the Cross family doesn't catch wind of this." I planned to handle them personally.
"Leave Dr. Crawford for me," I added. "I'll deal with him myself."
My final words cut through the darkness with razor-sharp precision, each syllable dripping with lethal promise.
"Understood, Mr. Shaw," Laird responded.
Sloane silently applauded my actions. She thought to herself, 'If you'd stepped up like this sooner, Irina would already be yours.'
When the Shaw family moved, Maplewood Town was basically done for.
