Irina's POV
After Melissa finished mocking me, she switched to a saccharine tone to comfort Adrianne. "Ms. Floryn, if she doesn't want it, then forget it. She'll never encounter a patient as generous as you again."
Adrianne brushed off Melissa's words, looking flustered by my withdrawal. Her questioning gaze found mine.
"Miss, what exactly do you mean by this?"
Adrianne seemed convinced she'd handled everything perfectly—courteous and respectful, offering me every courtesy I deserved. 'Why is she being so difficult?' ran through her thoughts.
I casually swept the loose strands away from my forehead. "I need to establish clear boundaries between us."
"My position hasn't changed. I won't accept any more cases involving the Floryn family," I stated, my eyes lifting slightly, voice deceptively soft yet carrying an icy undertone. "I despise people who enjoy theatrical performances."
