Dante observed a group of deer. The animals were a strange kind of existence in this plane.
They didn't have the means to exist in the food chain since monsters would likely kill them all. Unless, the system somehow restricted the monsters from leaving their post.
'Hmm. This is possible. What if the system put animals in here for our food?" Dante silently thought.
He shook his head. 'Enough with stray thoughts. I need to concentrate. Killing the deer with mana is easy. What I need is one hit. One hit.'
Punching the troll was easy. The troll was slow and large.
Deers on the other hand were quick. Their smell was also annoying to deal with. Even his hunter skill couldn't kill the deer without making a mess.
'I need a long range attack.' He sighed and jumped down from the tree.
He picked up a few rocks and tossed around to gauge their weights. After taking a few rocks, he climbed up the tree again.
He aimed the rocks at the deer. He channeled the mana from his core into the rock.
His breathing slowed down and the sound of his surroundings disappeared.
The deer is about 150 meters away from me. I am in a good position. What I need right now is precision.
Dante continued to concentrate. He could no longer hear his soft breath. He could no longer feel the tree he stood on.
All he could feel was the never ending flowing energy he created. From his core to the rock.
Seconds turned to minutes.
Dante's hand blurred and the rock vanished from his hand.
Huh?
Only when he saw the deer's head scattered into pieces, did he realize the fact that he had thrown the rock.
Dante looked at his hand in surprise.
That is.
The feeling was familiar to him. It was the same sensation when he used his bloodline talent.
So I don't need full talent to access the comprehension ability.
He extended his hand and channeled the mana. The mana flowed even smoothly this time. Something had changed.
Dante quickly jumped down and dashed to the deer. He reached the deer and carried it to the cave.
By the time he came back the sun was setting. He noticed Julius showering in the open.
He dropped the deer to the side and walked over to him.
"Let me in." Dante said,smiling.
Julius pointed at Thomas and said, "Tell him. I will warn you. His water pressure is a bit harsh."
Dante nodded and walked to Thomas who was sitting under a tree.
Thomas waved at him. "Do you need water?"
"Yeah. I want to shower as well."
"Alright."
Thomas stood up and aimed his palm at Dante. "Ready? 3.2.1."
"Wait. Wait. Let me take off."
"Too late. Go…" Thomas chuckled.
Dante was thrown back by the water pressure. Julius was not kidding about it. He had to use a bit of mana to withstand the pressure.
After that, Thomas dried his clothes using wind as well.
"I wonder when I can use elements like you." Dante said, filled with envy. "I see different mana in the air but because of restrictions I can't control it."
"I am sure your power will blossom in Tier 2. I have a feeling." Thomas said.
Dante laughed and walked over to the deer. He carefully cut the meat and fried it over a hot rock. After adding a few spices he picked up, the meal was finished.
They moved into the cave. Thomas sealed the cave and made a hole inside for ventilation.
They ate their meals quietly and guarded the cave in routine.
The next morning, Dante stretched his body and trained his mana.
The two friends came forward and nodded at him.
Dante stopped his training and crouched down. He activated his eyes and saw a group of small humanoid walking near their cave.
"There is a group of humanoid monsters over there. We will reach there in 6 minutes with our full speed." Dante said.
Julius tilted his head in confusion and asked. "Humanoid? Like what?"
"Similar to goblins. About 6 monsters. They carry weapons." Dante explained.
Thomas smiled and slammed the fist into his palm, creating a sound. "Let's go. We need more points for clothes and weapons."
Dante nodded and led the group to the monsters.
After running for a few minutes, Dante stopped and pointed at the monsters.
Thomas squinted his eyes and made a smile. "Yeah. It is a goblin. The usual green skin monsters I saw in games."
Julius took out his sword and took a stance. He whispered.
"I will finish them in second."
With those words he vanished from view.
Dante saw Julius appeared out in the middle of the goblins. He swung the sword and vanished again.
"Looks like this kind thing is his speciality." Thomas whistled.
"Yeah. His teleportation is suited for this. But let's see if we can give some support." Dante said and ran toward the goblins.
By the time they reached near the goblins, they saw Julius cleaning his sword. Surrounding him were corpses of green humanoid monsters and their small weapons.
"Yo." Julius greeted them.
"Damn, you killed all the goblins." Thomas clicked his tongues.
Dante crouched down and started taking the mana core inside the monsters. The cores were small and weaker than the troll. After gathering about 6 cores, he threw them into his pockets.
"How are you feeling?" Dante asked, observing Julius.
He noticed Julius's hand trembling and breath hasting. "Is it your first time killing something right?"
Julius nodded and gave a dry laugh. "The sensation of blades passing through the flesh is creepy. I don't think I will get used to that. Haha."
Dante shook his head. "No. You will get used to it. You have no choice but to get used to that. And I don't think it is a bad thing."
"This is survival of the fittest." Thomas came and gave his words. "Don't take my words as an answer but I think we need to get more efficient in our hunt."
Julius listened to the two and thought for a long time. He then let out a long and suffering sigh. "Guess that makes sense. Don't worry about it."
Dante walked near the tree and carved an arrow into the trunk.
"Now, let's move on. I want to clear all the monsters near the cave." He said.
Dante drew a circle on the ground and Mark the middle. "This is our cave. We are here. I sensed a few groups of monsters here and here."
"Are they strong?" Thomas asked.
"Their mana is a bit higher than the goblins. Lower than the troll. I also sense some kind of innate mana in them." Dante explained.
"Alright, let's finish all of them."
