Synopsis
‘I have met a lot of women in my lifetime. They are always either sweet, sassy or predictable: but you- Sierra, is nothing like I have ever seen before. Can you quit trying to hide, you can't fool me. I know you are an angel in disguise’. These words were etched on the pretty white card that came with his business trip parting gift. He told Sierra that it meant their love would never end but it did. He cheated on her. He broke his promise and he broke her. Sierra Shades, daughter of a single mother trying to raise her child in Moonshire State, returns home one night with a wounded heart. Sierra confides in the only person in the world she felt she could still trust, her best friend. But that one mistake gets her killed. Sierra is reborn in the body of a girl named Jinx Shade who lives miles away from her world. She tries to forget everything that happened, to start anew and live Jinx’s life but the past finds her even there. A vicious spiral of vengeance begins. This broken heart sets out to accomplish what now seems like a mission from hell. The call to get back at everyone who hurt her. However, this vendetta takes an unexpected turn when her old lover wanders back into her life. Not as an enemy but as a savior and a companion in the ploy of retribution. As the plot thickens, the lines between morality and sanity blur. Many dark secrets come to light and long held trusts are lost. Vengeance is a dangerous venture but what is really scary is that when Jinx finally closes in on her ultimate target, will she be able to condemn him, the man who shattered her world; will she be able to deliver his punishment when love has found a way to grip her heart again.

Chapter 1 - A VIRGIN’S GIFT

SIERRA'S POV

I stood in front of LA VIE GRAND HOTEL. The infamous Moonshire Times once described it as 'A beauty that could steal your soul'.

But I couldn't even keep my mind on it. Maybe it's because all I could think of was sex. My sultry imaginations kept drifting off to what might happen tonight and the sensation between my legs got worse.

'What would he want to do first? What if he is naughty and wants to slip his hands under my skirt? What if he wants to watch me strip down first?'

Unconsciously, I tied my long hair around my fingers, childishly blushing at my thoughts.

'What if he wants to lick my cunt? More importantly, if he pulls down his pants, will I scream if he turns out to have a large pp? Can I handle it? Would he let me touch it?'

I shook my head vigorously. 'Sierra, when did you become so lewd?'

I laughed to myself as I pushed my body through the door hoping to find some kind of distraction from my dirty thoughts.

The ecstatic ooze of cold Martini met me first. The cool autumn breeze whooshed in through the windows and seemed to mystify the room; jazz was playing on loop on the stereo and people tapped their feet to the beat while they sat across each other in playful romantic chatter. There I was, in the middle of it all, standing alone by the entrance door hugging a BTS ARMY tote bag and completely lost in my reverie, again.

Tomorrow morning will mark our Fifth Anniversary as Dating Couples. He had already bought me a bloody expensive gift, but what had I ever gotten him? A tie, a new pair of socks, an ancient meal made out of some archaic cuisine. Well, not this time around.

I pressed my lips together and took one step at a time. My long blonde hair that was resting nicely on my shoulders, slipped off strand by strand as I sauntered towards the fine wooden countertop. I would give him the surprise of a lifetime. The one treasure no one in the world would give him. The only thing I owned that could really show him how much I loved him.

My eyes trailed to the ladies in emerald green standing behind the computer, wearing glittering smiles. Their names displayed angelically on brown tags hanging from their breast pockets. Jolie was the woman I was looking for.

"Sia." She called me by my nickname, bending over slightly to pull a key card from amongst the plenty hidden underneath the counter.

"Mr. Gravestone did not mention you were coming." She made an uneasy smile.

"I didn't tell him I was coming. I want to surprise him," I replied, meeting her gaze, unconsciously searching for the answer to that look on her face.

"Oh. I see. Well, he will certainly be shocked to see you." She slipped the card into my open palm. There was something about her tone I just couldn't grasp. I gleamed a little and turned, briskly walking towards the elevator. Something was wrong. The only time Jolie behaved like that was when Wahshen had been forced into his suite by some gangsters.

He was in trouble, again. The closer I got to him, the more I felt it. That chilling feeling; the heart racing, nail-biting distress, it was all over me, like I was wet with anxiety. I dialed Hover, his bodyguard immediately the elevator slid open on the top floor, the perks of being the girlfriend of a multi-millionaire.

I took a moment to wait for his response. He wasn't picking up. The Phone put me through voicemail four times. I bit down on my lips.

"Come on Hover, pick up. This isn't the time to play Mr. Disappointing." I muttered, trying his number one last time. I still got voicemail.

"Damn it." I threw the phone into my bag and yanked out a crowbar. After that first incident, I developed a weird habit of keeping it around.

The hall was quiet. The humid air that dense the passage was surprisingly cold, but even though it was, I was still sweating. It got worse when I made it to SUITE 145. I placed the key card over the scanner, and the door opened. Someone's voice came through, into the passageway. It sounded like a heavy gasp.

My heart stopped, cold.

'Oh good Lord'.

My grip tightened, my legs shaking a little as they guided me past the entrance, through the small picturesque pallor and over to the bedroom door. I gulped. The sound was coming from there. I could hear the creaking of wood, ruffling of sheets and groans, deep groans.

I made a cross sign over my chest and sucked in a breath. 'God give me strength…'

I burst into the room, eyes wide open.

"Stay away from him." I yelled, waving my crowbar in the air.

The figures, hidden in the dim, scampered off each other immediately. Although it was hard to see, I could still tell there were just two people in the room and they were both hiding behind the sheets, startled. I recognized the male first, but that was when I realized what I had just interrupted.

"What the… hell?" My eyes scanned the room again. "No-" I struggled, trying to deny what was before my eyes, but I couldn't. Right in front of me was the man I loved so dearly, and he was in bed with another woman.

The crowbar fell off my trembling hands, crashing to the floor. Tears pooled in my eyes. There was this pain, it pierced my heart so deep I couldn't help but scream.

"Wahshen, how could you?!!!"

My voice, like shock-waves, sent him climbing off the bed. He was still stunned, standing before my eyes in absolutely nothing. He looked shocked, his eyes wide open and staring at me like I was some apparition.

The girl on the bed covered up. Not that I cared, my burning gaze was on Wahshen. His lips parted over and over but no words came. He couldn't explain himself. That hurt me even more, my tears following freely. There was a sudden look of pain in his eyes the moment he saw my tears.

"Sierra baby, I can explain. It's not what you think…. I… I can explain."

A sarcastic chuckle broke through my lips. I had never heard something so ridiculous in my entire life. "What are you going to say?" My voice was filled with anger. "That you didn't know what came over you? That you were possessed; what, do demons make people cheat now, huh? Answer me, Wahshen. Do demons make people fuck girls now?!!!"

"Sierra…" his voice was barely above a whisper; he kept messaging his forehead and wincing. I didn't why because it didn't matter to me right now. He didn't know what to say, obviously. Instead, he tried to reach out to me; that was what my mind was on and that was what made me flip.

"Don't you touch me!" I snapped. He shrunk back. I had never been this angry before. It scared him.

"Why would you do this to me? I love-" my voice trailed off. "I loved you."

He was silent; it made the rage grow worse. I threw my bag on the floor and rolled up my sleeves, revealing a red love-shaped tattoo. "You swore…" I blinked back my tears. "You swore on this never to cheat on me. How could you brand me with this lie? How could you do this… to me?"

"Sierra, you have to believe me, this is not what it looks like. I thought she was…"

"Shut up!!" I screamed. His last words were like an off switch. He turned my sanity off. I reached down for the crowbar so fast he couldn't react in time before - I flung it. In that split second, I regretted what I did but it was too late.

A loud cry pierced my ears; then I heard a thud sound as his body fell to the floor. His blood splashed on my boots. My eyes grew wider the instant they caught a glimpse of the blood. I stumbled back, covering my mouth. 'God, what have I done?'
