"This can't be real, right?!"
I was still shocked at this sight. It was indeed real. I touched the texture of the tree log and the grass. It's something you can't feel easily in a dream.
"Wait...if this isn't a dream...then-"
I started getting chills down my spine the moment I thought about it. Fear crept onto my shoulder, and I began to think the unthinkable: how did I get here?
I knew for a fact I didn't get hit by a truck or overworked to death, as my job is barely stressful either way. Could it be a divine blunder? No! If that were the case, I would meet an average goddess or god of life and death, or something along those lines.
Portal and items...Nope, I never encountered those. I read stories of everyday life transport, but that's mostly because it's either having a system in front of your face like it's about to kiss you, or you are awake to see the transportation, yet I was mostly asleep, so that's off the list, too.
Summoning circle is pretty much way too far from being the answer, and I would hate it either way, as it's too generic.
There were too many things I didn't know off! Even if my writer's sense was tingling, it was still useless in my situation! The only thing I could do now was to explore rather than be a sitting duck.
I decided to take a deep breath; fear was still lurking behind my back, as it's quite unnerving being in a random location alone. But luckily, after reading all those transportation novels that kept being pumped out weekly and writing something similar, I decided to do the first thing: observe my surroundings and not panic like an average NPC side character who also got transported.
I observed my surroundings once more. It was pretty much the same, so the obvious thing I had to do was get moving. I decided to pick up a few pebbles and drop them on the ground as I moved. This was something I picked up back when I was younger, and thus, I began to explore.
...
"It'd be a good idea to pretend to be potential bait for whatever happens next."
I chuckled to myself, but it's really just a matter of dumb plot armor and generic storytelling. And I know for a fact that this isn't a normal situation like in those novels or shows. And as I explored the forest, I often encountered weird-looking entities such as sparkly birds or mushrooms that sounds like it's about to explode! But it was strange nonetheless as if the forest was mixed into something else....
...
I continued walking down the slope of each part of the forest but I was running out of pebble to drop and find. Just how long did I even walked for? I could feel my mouth getting dryer and more thirsty.
Before anything else, my ear picked up the sound of something gushing. And that was when I realized it. I tried to pick up the sound where I heard it and follow the direction where the sound came from.
After I picked it up a couple of time, I found the direction where it was. And immediately sprinted to that area.
"Could it be? Please tell me I am right!"
I mumbled to myself as I sprinted for it. My heart pounded hoping for something. And it wasn't before long i stumbled my upon the location. I laid my eyes upon it, and my eye sparkled in marveled at the scenery. It was a waterfall! A majestic one at that!
Luckily I did researched about forest awhile back on how to spot one and find one while alone as I needed inspiration for a scene for a chapter in one of my horrendous novel.
I began to kneel down on the dirt floor and used my palm to lift up from the plunge pool and took a palm full of water and drank it. My eye opened massively as this water...was simply just too refreshing than any water I had!
I continued to drink from the pool as it was better than any water I drank before! It was just water, just it was too good and refreshment.
[----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------]
I sat down and laid my back onto a tree and released a sigh of relief. I suppose this forest wasn't too bad. I stared at the majestic waterfall once more. It was such a beautiful yet scenery sight to see. I never got to see one in person but this was truly the best experience I've had from coming into this world!
it wasn't before long I felt like dozing off.
'Cluck!'
I felt something hit my head hard and it jolted me back awake before I could even doze off! I looked around before I saw a weird looking fruit. it was weird and shaped oddly, and it's pretty hard to describe it.
I picked it up and rotated it, yet I can even tell what to make of it. I looked back at the tree behind me and saw many more of the same fruit in the tree. It was just fruits and a tree, yet something felt off about them. It felt...familiar. As if I seen them before....
As I inspect the fruit once more, I thought more about it before I recalled something on paper I wrote a long time ago, it's quite vague but from what I recalled was...
...
"The hero eventually stumbled onto a Waterfall. It was majestic, and marvelous to see something built and carved by nature itself. The hero looked to his side and noticed fruits that was shaped oddly. Was it a natural for a fruit to be grown near a waterfall?"
...
I dropped the fruit from my hand, my eye widen in shock from that memory. I looked back at the waterfall, it was clear now, but was it really clear? Or was I hallucinating again? It cannot even be a coincidence at this point.
I looked back at the fruit on dirt floor and looked back at the tree, it was surreal but it felt like the only answer to my predicament.
This forest, this conveniently placed Waterfall, this tree, the fruits, everything I experienced...was this my doing? Did a story I wrote from one of my novels... Did I got transported into my own novel?
It was a silly idea, but it was all too well, all to convenient. And yet it was the only solution. Maybe I did got transported into my novel-
'Caw caw!'
I was broke out of my thought when I heard a caw, I look to the direction where it came from. My eye widen again as I laid my eye onto a crow....but it had a top hat, and a bowtie?!?!
The crow was simply eating the weird fruits, yet it looked calm. And that when it hits me, why would a crow even be in a forest?
Now don't get me wrong, I write many fictional story but at least I put animal into their respective habitats, and I don't ever recalled writing a crow into a forest. I looked at the scenery one more time instead.
And that was when I spotted things I never saw previously, a glowing mushroom, a striped pattern squirrel, grass that were pink and mix of purple and many odd designs. If this forest, waterfall, and everything was created by me, why would their be anomalies here? And one that I never written before?
Could it be, something else is making this world run?
