Chapter 5 - mysterious person

As Star watched Storm walk away, she couldn't shake off the feeling that Storm was hiding something from her. Something big. Something that could change everything between them forever. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she turned to leave, her mind racing with questions. What was Storm hiding? And why did she feel like she was losing her best friend?

Star's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of her phone buzzing in her pocket. She pulled it out, expecting it to be a message from one of her friends. But it was a message from an unknown number.

"Meet me at the old oak tree at midnight. Come alone."

Star's heart skipped a beat as she read the message. Who could be sending her such a mysterious message? And what did they want with her?

Star's POV

I stood there, staring at the message on my phone, my mind racing with questions. Who could be sending me such a mysterious message? And what did they want with me?

I tried to shake off the feeling of unease, telling myself it was probably just a prank or a mistake. But something about the message felt off, and I couldn't help but feel like it was connected to Storm.

Storm, my best friend and Alpha, who had been acting strange ever since her birthday. I felt like she was hiding something from me, I was sure of it. And now, this message...

I looked around, feeling like I was being watched. The forest was quiet, the only sound the rustling of leaves in the wind. I shivered, despite the warmth of the evening.

"Light, what do you think?" I asked my wolf, seeking her opinion. Should we mind link Storm and let her know about this?

I feel we should tell Storm and Knight about this,_ Light said, her voice firm in my mind. This could be a trap, and we can't risk it.

I shook my head. "No, Light. Storm asked for space, and we need to respect that. Besides, we're the future Beta, we can handle this on our own."

_But what if it's something big? Something we can't handle?_ Light argued.

I sighed, feeling a twinge of frustration. "Light, we've been training for this our whole lives. We can handle whatever comes our way. And if anything happens, we'll be ready."

Light huffed, but I could sense her agreement. She was always a bit more cautious than me, but she trusted my judgment.

As we continued to walk, the forest grew darker, the shadows cast by the trees seeming to move and twist around me. I felt a shiver run down my spine, but I kept going, my heart pounding in my chest.

The old oak tree loomed ahead, its branches stretching up towards the sky like skeletal fingers. I could see a figure standing in the shadows, waiting for me, how did this person get into our pack? I thought he or she was a pack member but the smell doesn't smell like a pack member to me at all.. light can you feel pack bond with this person I asked her..? No star I don't.. Now this person has a death wish.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I was a strong wolf, a member of the Moonlight Pack. I could handle whatever this person threw at me.

"Okay, Light, let's do this," I said, my voice firm.

_Let's do it,_ Light agreed, her energy coursing through my veins.

I stepped forward, my eyes fixed on the figure in the shadows. "Who are you?" I called out, my voice strong and confident.

The figure didn't move, didn't respond. It just stood there, waiting for me…

The figure stepped forward, its face still shrouded in shadows. "Well, well, well... I didn't really expect you to come out, Star," it said, its voice low and smooth.

I snarled, my instincts on high alert. "Who are you? And how did you get into the pack lands unnoticed? Do you have a death wish or something? How do you know my name and number? Is someone working with you in the pack?

The figure chuckled, "Ah, no, I'm not dying today. I need something important from you! You are important to her. You don't know it yet, but you have become the weakness she fears most.

I frowned, my mind racing with questions. "What are you talking about?" I demanded, my voice sounding cold.

The figure just laughed, I see she taught you how to be cold and heartless just like her. Enough of the talk, you're going down, rogue! I said to him feeling really pissed off..

I growled, my wolf instincts taking over. I was about to attack when the figure began to chant, its words weaving a spell that made me feel weak and disoriented. How does a wolf know witchcraft and spell chanting?

I mind-link Storm, telling her to help but it was too late. I felt a searing pain in my stomach, and everything went black.

As I fell, I heard the figure's laughter echoing in my ears, she took my pack from me when she was only 15. I will take the most important thing from her even before she gets to enjoy it.the man said.
