Chapter 50 — Mornings, Rain, and the Kiss that Felt Like Forever ☕🌧️💞
The storm outside had softened, but the sound of raindrops still filled the air like music.
Soft… calming… almost magical.
Jay blinked awake, wrapped in warmth — not just the blanket, but the faint scent of Keifer's hoodie around her.
Her lashes fluttered when she realized she wasn't in the guest room.
She turned her head slowly…
And there he was.
Mark Keifer Watson.
Messy hair, peaceful face, and the tiniest smile on his lips even while asleep.
Jay's heart did that stupid flip again.
She hated how he could look so effortlessly beautiful, even half-asleep.
She moved just a little, but Keifer's arm tightened around her waist, pulling her closer.
"Five more minutes, my love…" he murmured, voice low and husky.
Jay froze.
"You're awake?!" she whispered.
He smirked, eyes still closed. "I'd wake up for you any day, Mrs. Watson." 😏
Jay rolled her eyes, cheeks warming. "You're unbelievable."
"I know," he teased, finally opening his eyes. "But I'm your unbelievable."
Jay sat up, crossing her arms. "Do you ever stop flirting?"
"Hmm…" He tapped his chin dramatically. "Nope. Not when you're this cute in my hoodie."
"Keifer!" she said, trying not to laugh.
"What? You think I didn't notice? You literally look like my future wife sitting there."
Jay's heart skipped. "Future wife?"
He grinned. "Mrs. Future Watson — it's literally your contact name in my phone."
Her jaw dropped. "You what—"
Before she could finish, laughter echoed from the hallway.
"Kuya, are you making pancakes again?" Keigen's voice called out.
"And are we allowed to talk to Ate Jay now or is she still off-limits?" Keiren added, teasing.
Jay laughed nervously, burying her face in her hands.
"Oh no…"
Keifer chuckled, standing up and stretching. "They used to hate you, remember?"
"Yeah, used to," she said, giggling.
"Now they love you. Maybe too much."
When they entered the kitchen, Keiren and Keigen immediately ran to her.
"Ate Jay!" they shouted in unison, hugging her legs.
Jay blinked, shocked but smiling. "You two are full of surprises today."
Keigen grinned. "Kuya said if we're nice to you, he'll buy us pizza."
Jay gasped, pretending to be offended. "So that's why you're being nice?"
They both laughed. "No! We like you now. Promise!"
Keifer leaned against the counter, watching with that soft, proud smile. "See? My family already loves you." 💞
Jay smiled shyly, turning to the stove. "So what's for breakfast, Mr. Chef?"
"Pancakes. But only if you give me a kiss as payment."
Jay stared at him. "Keifer Watson—"
"What? It's fair trade!" he said with a grin. "You get pancakes, I get love."
"Then you'll starve," she muttered, trying not to laugh.
Keifer stepped closer, lowering his voice. "We'll see about that."
They ended up cooking together — Jay flipping pancakes while Keifer kept stealing bites and sneaking glances at her.
He'd poke her side, whisper something cheesy, and then pretend to focus on the batter again.
"Stop looking at me like that," she said finally.
"Like what?"
"Like you're in love or something."
He chuckled softly. "That's because I am, sweetheart."
Jay's breath caught. She turned to look at him — and suddenly the air felt heavy. Not uncomfortable, just… charged.
The rain outside grew louder for a moment, like it was cheering them on.
Keifer's hand brushed hers as he took the plate from her.
Their eyes met — and in that moment, everything slowed.
"Keifer…" she whispered.
He smiled — not his usual teasing grin, but something gentler, deeper.
"I've waited too long to do this properly."
He cupped her cheek, eyes searching hers for permission.
Jay didn't move.
And when his lips met hers — it wasn't rushed.
It was soft, lingering, full of warmth and all the chaos their hearts had survived.
Her hands found their way to his shirt; his thumb brushed her jaw softly.
It wasn't just a kiss. It was a promise. 💋
When they finally pulled apart, both were breathless, smiling like fools.
Jay whispered, "You're impossible."
Keifer leaned his forehead against hers. "And you love me anyway, Mrs. Watson."
"Yeah," she whispered, smiling. "I really do."
☕⛈️
The thunder rolled again in the distance, but inside the Watson house, everything felt calm.
Warm pancakes.
Soft laughter.
And love that made even the storm outside sound like music. 💞
