I spread my arms and stretched my biological forcefield to the limits.
It was like I had massive wings holding me up in the sky, allowing me to glide downwards into the clouds again!
I flapped my imaginary wings, which probably looked dumb since it was just my arms. I also kicked my feet to speed up even faster!
The clouds were torn apart as I spun. Maybe rotation? It's not as easy as it sounds though. Controlling the forcefield to create a swirling drill of air that constantly pushed me forward…
"No, it can't be that simple." I was focusing too much on the powers I already possessed to achieve a similar appearance of Superman's flight.
I know one of the comic-book answers was that he could manipulate gravitons, so he would basically have anti-gravity and artificial gravity? But I haven't really studied that field much yet.
I mean, this is DC, so the concept of manipulating gravity wasn't too ridiculous. I'm sure there are scientists who have made similar shit already. But Lex and Lena haven't gotten there yet.
"No, I can't fall to temptation." I know it sounds dumb coming from someone who just came on his Mom earlier, twice, but I really was pretty good at resisting temptation.
After all, I was tempted to not bother trying so hard to hide the evidence of that manslaughter. Not really murder, because it was an accident.
Anyway, gravity manipulation would explain a lot. My body is naturally stronger and lighter than an ordinary human, even under Red Sunlight.
But I can use my biological forcefield to give myself leverage when necessary. Without leverage, I can't exert my strength properly.
I spun through the air and kicked upwards, sending myself towards the ground like a meteor!
As I was getting closer to the ground, I sucked in my forefield and made it cling to my body tightly! It made me stronger and I couldn't help imagining that it made me denser, heavier…
*Boom!* Then I punched the ground so hard that my hand and arm actually kinda hurt. The fucking ground exploded like a bomb went off, but it wasn't too ridiculous.
I crawled out of the small crater and looked around at the snowy mountains.
"Colorado?" I wasn't really paying attention, but it made sense. I went to the west about a few hundred miles. It was freezing cold here too. Even colder actually, because it was up in the mountains.
But then again, I'm a Kryptonian, so I didn't really give a fuck.
"Looks like I'm getting better at controlling myself." I noticed that I didn't even lose my underwear this time. I didn't have a shirt, but that wasn't a big deal.
"I really do need to start making super-suits though. In a real fight, I won't be able to spare the mental or physical energy to protect my clothes." I was still wondering whether I should go full Superman and not even bother with a mask or be like literally every other superhero and cover my fucking face…
*Rumble~!* The ground was shaking. The noise was so loud too. I looked up behind me quickly and saw the avalanche slowly coming down the mountain.
Then I looked around at the birds escaping from the trees, the deer and elk running for their lives, chipmunks and rabbits were also pretty scared. Down at the bottom of the mountain were a few houses in the valley below.
I could see some people sleeping inside, well, one dude was jacking off, another girl was fucking her dog, and a few others were just making breakfast or playing video games.
Just a bunch of random innocent bystanders living dangerously close to a mountain that could have an avalanche at any time. No, wait, it wasn't just this mountain. I saw some mountains across from me that were similar, just not as extreme.
"Motherfucker." And it was probably caused by my crash landing here. I took a breath and then sighed dramatically. Thankfully I was still full of energy.
Stopping an avalanche isn't impossible if you're Superman. Unfortunately, I didn't have my full skill-set and I wasn't fast enough to just run around punching it until it stopped. I also wasn't fast enough to move every animal and person out of the path of the snow.
Also, this wasn't the Himalayas or some shit. It was the Rocky Mountains after a snowstorm passed through. The houses in the valley might not even be affected that much. Birds would fly for the most part.
A lot of other animals could just dig themselves out of the snow afterwards pretty easily, so they wouldn't really die regardless of what I did.
The dangers weren't as severe as I initially thought. Yanking a bunch of people out of their homes at random, into the sub-zero temperatures of the Rocky Mountains, would not be saving them.
Though I can imagine how a fledgeling superhero might make that kinda silly mistake.
If I flew around loudly, it would likely cause more avalanches farther away. So I just ran around saving baby deer and other critters for the most part.
Then I saw a man who was hiking with what I assume was his young son. The two of them were obviously terrified. I could see their expressions pretty easily through their masks and goggles.
I grabbed one in each hand and sprinted up the mountain. Well, they were headed that direction anyway, so I might as well send them there, right? I made it past the wave of snow, over to the peak. It was still snowy there of course, but a lot of the snow and ice was already gone.
I didn't plan on leaving them there permanently, but they could wait a few minutes or so while I checked for other crazy bastards hiking in the mountains before the sun came up.
Nope, they were the only ones. I did save a few cats and dogs that were left outside by their shitty owners. At least I think those people owned the animals? I guess they could be wild animals and I might have just put them inside people's houses at random, but uh… It'll probably be fine?
"Phew~! Haah~! Haah~! Holy fucking shitballs that was exhausting." I sat down on a western mountain peak that was particularly high and watched the avalanche continue downwards into the valley slowly. It felt slow, even at normal speed.
As I suspected, it kinda fizzled out before it could do too much damage. Only a couple houses were partially buried in snow, but that was normal around here. I'd shovel the snow for them later.
For now…
"Fuck, I love the sun." I spread my arms and enjoyed the sunrise bombarding me with solar radiation. In an instant, it was like all the fatigue and muscle strain was gone.
I could breathe easily and calmly, my whole body was full of energy again.
I was even more energetic than before I accidentally killed that dude.
