Chapter 27 - Returning to the High-Martial World

Lin Chen's second request made Ubuyashiki fall directly silent.

He had thought Lin Chen would make extravagant demands.

He had dealt with people from other worlds many times before.

This group was uniformly greedy, wanting to obtain more benefits in their world.

Whether it was swordsmanship, breathing techniques, everyday resources, or even—

People.

But what kind of request was this from Lin Chen?

Kill demons?

Wasn't this completely beneficial to their Demon Slayer Corps?

Were there really such altruistic visitors from other worlds?

For a moment, Ubuyashiki didn't know what to say.

A visitor from another world who had both helped them find Sun Breathing and provided information about Red Blades.

And finally requested to help kill demons.

"What I mean is, you capture demons and let me kill them."

Lin Chen explained.

"Just like capturing demons and putting them into Mount Fujikasane. I hope you can capture more demons for me to kill."

"This would be of great help to me."

Mount Fujikasane was the location for rookie examinations in the Demon Slayer world.

Inside were some weak demons that the Pillars of past generations had released, used to temper and examine swordsmen's courage, as well as filter out swordsmen unsuited for frontline combat.

Lin Chen had to return to the high-martial world.

Who knew when he'd come back to the Demon Slayer world next?

Naturally, he wanted the Demon Slayer Corps to help capture demons for him to kill.

"If it's just this simple a request, there's no problem."

Ubuyashiki Kagaya agreed to Lin Chen's request quite readily.

Though this request sounded somewhat strange.

But it was something the Demon Slayer Corps could easily accomplish.

"Are there any other requests?" Ubuyashiki Kagaya asked.

He felt somewhat embarrassed.

He felt the Demon Slayer Corps' contributions were far less than the improvements Lin Chen had brought to the Demon Slayer Corps.

"Nothing else."

Lin Chen shook his head lightly, then spoke as if remembering something.

"How about giving me a few Nichirin blades?"

He couldn't take out other superfluous things anyway, so he might as well take a few Nichirin blades.

Keep one for his own use, sell the others for resources.

Lin Chen hadn't paid attention to Nichirin blade prices before, but they should have some value.

After all, quite a few people in Z City practiced breathing techniques.

And the materials to forge Nichirin blades were unique to the Demon Slayer world.

"That's also no problem."

Ubuyashiki agreed readily.

Lin Chen also asked Ubuyashiki some things about the dimensional passage.

Ubuyashiki didn't really understand much either.

When the passage first opened, their Demon Slayer Corps had made some trades with people from the other world.

For example, breathing techniques and swordsmanship were transmitted during that period.

At first, Ubuyashiki could detect the other side's invasion intentions.

But very quickly, the people afterward basically had no such thoughts, only peaceful trade.

"Indeed strange."

Lin Chen couldn't understand it.

Ubuyashiki didn't know the high-martial world's power, but he did.

The high-martial world probably even had planet-busters who could casually dimensionally suppress the Demon Slayer world.

Yet ultimately they didn't choose to invade and occupy.

"Oh right, Mr. Ubuyashiki, there are two more points I need to remind you about."

Lin Chen spoke.

"One concerns Miss Kanae, the Flower Pillar. She may die this year, so it's best to pay attention."

Four years before the plot began, Kanae happened to encounter Doma and died in battle.

This was also quite a regrettable part of Demon Slayer.

Having already spoiled so much, Lin Chen wouldn't hide this information.

The Flower Pillar's talent and strength weren't weak—otherwise, she wouldn't have lasted until dawn facing Doma.

"Kanae? I understand."

Hearing this, Ubuyashiki paused, then his expression became serious.

Lin Chen nodded and turned to leave. This was all he could do.

The rest could only be left to Ubuyashiki.

After all, he was still just a high school student.

Returning to the front courtyard, the sparring between the Pillars and Tanjuro had already ended.

Tanjuro truly possessed Pillar-level strength. Once he completed slaying Lower Ranks, or killed fifty demons.

He could inherit the title that no one had inherited since Yoriichi—Sun Pillar.

Ubuyashiki Kagaya came out from the back courtyard after a while.

After sitting in the front courtyard house drinking tea for a bit, a Kakushi member brought Nichirin blades before Lin Chen.

Kakushi were the Demon Slayer Corps' logistics personnel.

A large wooden box—after Lin Chen opened it, inside were four Nichirin blades.

"This is all we could find in such short time."

Ubuyashiki spoke apologetically from the side.

"Two have never been used by anyone, and the other two were left behind from before."

Hearing this, Lin Chen waved his hand: "These are enough."

Any more would be too conspicuous.

Lin Chen drew out one Nichirin blade. The tsuba was flame-shaped, somewhat similar to the Flame Pillar's blade in the anime.

After Lin Chen gripped the hilt, before long, the Nichirin blade's snow-white blade body began rapidly changing color.

As if flames were burning from the tsuba to the tip.

Within a few breaths, the blade transformed into orange-red, flame patterns engraved—like a blade that was burning.

This peculiar phenomenon was the Nichirin blade's binding.

Nichirin blades were also called Color-Changing Blades. They could transform into corresponding colors based on the user's characteristics.

Lin Chen used Sun Breathing, so his Nichirin blade was close to Yoriichi's orange-red.

Lin Chen didn't touch the other unused Nichirin blade. An unbound Nichirin blade would definitely have higher value.

Hanging the Nichirin blade at his waist, Lin Chen closed the box, stood up gracefully, and shouldered the box on his back.

"Then farewell, Mr. Ubuyashiki."

His harvest from coming to the Demon Slayer world wasn't small. It was time to return.

"Tengen, take Mr. Lin Chen to the passage."

Ubuyashiki spoke warmly.

The Sound Pillar stood up gorgeously.

"Then gorgeously follow me, young man."

The dimensional passage was quite close to the estate, near the back mountain.

Ubuyashiki had specifically built a house here, with several masked breathing technique swordsmen guarding the place.

"The dimensional passage is invisible. Push open this room's door, take one step forward, and you'll be able to return to your world."

The Sound Pillar brought Lin Chen before the small house and explained.

"What about Miss Fujiwara?"

Lin Chen asked.

"Miss Fujiwara already returned with her family half an hour ago."

A masked swordsman spoke.

"Then farewell, Mr. Uzui."

Lin Chen waved to the Sound Pillar, then turned to leave.

"Oh, gorgeous farewell then."

Pushing open the wooden door, there truly was nothing to see—not the kind of vortex-shaped passage from games or anime.

Lin Chen stepped forward.

Heaven and earth spun. That dizzy sensation of being swallowed by the spatial passage clearly struck again.

However, this time was clearly much better than last time.

When Lin Chen opened his eyes, he had already arrived in a room full of sci-fi style.

Before him was a huge room bright as day.

Aside from a few guarding personnel, it seemed somewhat empty.

Behind him was a silver-white spatial vortex, beside it were two pillars with special glowing patterns.
