The membrane of her realm stretched before him like a vast, faintly luminous curtain separating ordered existence from the raw multiversal void. Up close it was not a simple barrier. Layers of interlocking laws shimmered beneath the surface, constantly adjusting to keep the internal physics stable while rejecting the chaotic pressures of the outside. He did not cross it. He simply stood in the empty space beyond, golden light still faintly clinging to his form, and waited.
