All four men stood up, anger blazing in their eyes, and marched toward Sherax and Lina. One of them shouted, "Are you crazy? Do you want us to finish you right here!?"
Sherax's eyes turned. A faint blood red glow appeared inside them a silent warning of the storm he was about to unleash.
Suddenly, one of the men lunged toward Lina, reaching out to grab her. He whispered crudely,
"Guys, look at this girl… she's beautiful. I wonder what her mother looked like."
Those words ignited something inside Sherax.
His eyes flared completely blood-red pure rage.
In the blink of an eye, he teleported in front of the man. Before anyone could react, Sherax's hands shot toward the man's face, and with terrifying precision…he removed his eyes.
The man collapsed instantly, screaming in unbearable agony.
The other men froze in horror.
One whispered, trembling, "What… what is he?
This guy is crazy…"Restaurant staff and customers stiffened in shock. Some ducked behind tables, others scrambled away in panic.
The remaining three men didn't think twice they turned and sprinted out of the restaurant.
Lina stepped closer. "Brother… are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm alright," Sherax replied, expression blank.
He paid the bill and walked out of Dude Restaurant with Lina.
Outside, his phone rang. Unknown number.
"Hello," Sherax said.
A man laughed on the other side. " do you Remember, your work?"
Sherax didn't respond. "Hmm," he said, and hung up.
Cassian had hired two detectives to watch Sherax… to send him updates every second.
Sherax reached home and sat on a chair.
"Tomorrow I have work to finish… but what about Lina? If I take her, it's dangerous. If I leave her, who will protect her?"
He lowered his head onto the dinner table, lost deep in thought.
A soft sound broke the silence.
Tiny footsteps.
Lina walked in rubbing her sleepy eyes. "Brother… why aren't you sleeping?"
Sherax quickly sat up. "I'm fine, Lina. Go back to bed."
But she hugged him gently from the side. "Brother… I'm scared. Those bad people… will they come again?" and how you removed their eyes?
Sherax's heart tightened. He placed a hand on her head. "No. I promise, no one will ever hurt you.
"Then… please don't leave me alone tomorrow."
Sherax froze. Her words hit deep. Just then a notification beeped.
A message from an unknown number:
"If you need someone to watch your sister tomorrow, meet me at 8 AM. Don't be late."
Someone knew his problem. Someone was watching him.
"Who is it, brother?" Lina asked.
"No one," Sherax lied softly. "Just someone I need to meet."
But inside, he was alert.
Was it Cassian? A spy? A friend? Or… another enemy?
Tonight, he carried Lina gently and whispered, "My little angel… let's sleep."
They went to bed.
At the mid of night a loud knock echoed through the house. "Sherax! Are you in there!?"
Sherax woke instantly. "Who comes at this hour…?"
He opened the door and froze.
A 19-year-old boy stood there. A black hat, white T-shirt splashed with neon blue paint, long brown hair, and a height around 5'4".
Sherax's shock turned into happiness.
"Zan?" he breathed.
Zan grinned. "Hey boy, remember me?"
"Of course I do." Sherax's eyes softened. Zan was his childhood friend. They went to the same school, college, and grew up in the same city.
Zan sighed. "I'm sorry about your father… I didn't attend the funeral. I didn't know."
"No problem," Sherax replied. "But did you send me that message? About taking care of my sister?"
"Oh yes! That was me. I knew you'd need help."
Sherax frowned. "But how did you know? And how are you here so fast?"
"Bro, relax, relax," Zan laughed. "Why are you attacking me with questions? I'm hungry, let me talk properly."
"Okay," Sherax sighed. "What do you want?"
"Just a sandwich and chocolate milk."
"Fine. Sit."
A few minutes later, Sherax returned with the food.
Zan took a bite and said calmly, "I saw you enter Karsaz City. I saw you kill that guy who tried to attack your sister."
Sherax froze.
"And," Zan continued, "I also know what happened in Dude Restaurant… and yes… I know about Cassian too."
Sherax's heart skipped a beat.
How did Zan know all this?
His childhood friend… Had returned with secrets.
Sherax, asked, "Are you following me?" After finishing his sandwich, Zan picked up and drank a milkshake. Zan said, "You know me, buddy."
"Where is Lina?" asked Zan.
"She was sleeping," replied Sherax.
"I can take care of your sister if you agree."
Sherax said, "I can't leave my sister."
I know, but you need to finish your job.
Lina is also my sister, so you don't need to worry about it. I'm leaving here with your sister, and I know what you're thinking.
Sherax said sadly, "But you call me every hour."
"Of course, buddy." Zan
Sherax said, "Okay, Zan, the drawing room is free; you can sleep there."
Zan replied, "No problem, buddy."
You can go now; I'm sleepy.Sherax said, "Me too."
Sherax went back to their room and slept again.
Sherax woke up after 8 hours sleep, seen his little sister she was not on bed!
Sherax, worried and thinking, heard a little laughing sound from the kitchen.
Sherax walked forward to the kitchen and saw how Lina had become familiar with Zan. They were so happy and making breakfast.
Sherax feels so happy. Lina said, "Good morning, brother. Meet our friend, Zan."
Sherax said, "Good morning, Lina. I've already met Zan."
Lina: That's good.
Zan said, "Hello, Buddy, come and have breakfast. Here's a sandwich and chocolate milk for you."
