Chapter 10 - Chapter 9 : ESCAPING FROM PARADISE

Unit-1: Something New

A calm and wired morning filled the house. Something felt empty this time.

John woke up, lying still on the bed. He looked at the window as soft golden light fell on his face. Birds were singing outside, but the peace felt uncomfortable.

In her room, Sofia woke up too. She sat on the bed and stared out the window.

It felt like being locked in a new place, yet feeding the same disturbing horror.

She opened her door and looked up.

Nothing.

No stairs. No way up.

Wait… a vent-like opening near the ceiling.

Her height wasn't enough to reach it. There were two rooms on her floor. One looked abandoned. The other was locked.

Hope quietly stepped back.

Sofia started walking downstairs.

On the first floor, John's room was open.

She peeked inside.

Only John was there, lying on the bed. Golden sunlight landed softly on his face. Birds sat on a nearby tree, singing like nothing was wrong.

Sofia didn't speak. She only smiled faintly and left him in that small moment of comfort.

She continued downstairs.

The hall floor felt like cold knives under her feet.

Then George appeared from the basement.

Blood stains marked his mouth.

Sofia said nothing.

George walked past her and went to his room. After a few minutes, he came back wearing a heavy coat. He handed another one to her.

"Today we are going outside," he said calmly.

"It's cold. Wear this."

He went to the kitchen, filled plates with soup, and placed them on the table. They both sat down and ate in silence.

Sofia finally spoke.

"So… if you and I go outside, who will take care of John?"

George smiled.

A smile that poked, not comforted.

"Don't worry," he said. "Your John will be safe. Before we leave, I'll give him an injection."

They finished breakfast.

George picked up the syringe and went upstairs.

Inside John's room, John looked at him.

An innocent and a devil stood in the same space.

George came closer. John's heartbeat grew louder. Fear and anger mixed inside him.

"My kid," George said softly, "don't be scared of me. In this world, no one can hurt you. You are under my shadow."

John knew the truth.

That shadow was not protection. It was control.

George sat beside him and smiled.

"I see myself in you," he said. "In this world, I am the only one who loves you. I tortured you because others asked me to… because they paid me. I'm sorry for whatever I did."

The manipulation failed.

From deep inside his chest, John whispered,

"I hate you."

George's smile didn't fade.

He moved closer, pressed the injection into John's body, then stood up.

The door locked.

George went downstairs.

Sofia was already waiting.

Unit 2: Dead Town

Phase I

George stepped out of the house carrying a dark-colored leather satchel. He locked the main door carefully, as if sealing something inside.

"Wait here," he said. "I'll bring the carriage."

He walked toward the carriage house and returned moments later. Two shiny horses pulled a red carriage. The cold morning air wrapped around everything.

"Come. Sit with me."

Sofia stepped closer and sat beside him. George held a piece of cloth in his hand.

"Here," he said calmly. "I'll tie this over your eyes."

She didn't resist.

He didn't want to expose the way out.

The carriage started moving. George whipped the reins, and the horses cut through the wind. Cold air brushed Sofia's face sharply. The cloth wasn't tied perfectly. There was a small gap.

Not enough to see clearly.

But enough to try.

She tilted her head slightly, forcing her eyes to absorb whatever they could—shadows, turns, directions. Every second mattered.

Then George spoke.

"Yesterday, I talked to John."

Sofia's breath tightened.

"I told him why you blamed him. But honestly, your reason was stupid." He chuckled softly. "So I added some details of my own."

Her hands clenched.

"I made your mother the villain," George continued. "I told him she didn't like you. That she pushed you to do it."

Something snapped inside Sofia.

Her mother would never do that.

She had never hated anyone without reason. She had cried for John. She had felt his pain.

George ruined that memory.

But Sofia stayed silent.

Losing control now would destroy her plan.

The carriage rolled on.

Then George spoke again.

"Dead Town wasn't born with that name," he said. "Once, people lived there. The town grew. People became afraid of them."

He paused.

"So they destroyed it. Not with war. With betrayal."

The carriage slowed slightly.

"The town's real name," George said quietly,

"was WILLSON'S TOWN."

Phase – II

"My grandfather and his brothers found a paradise.

They named it WILLSON'S TOWN.

That's where I was born."

"When my father was still a child, a man came from outside the town.

People called him GOLDEN VALE.

Some called him GOLDEN ANGEL VALE.

No one knew his real name."

"He was one of the men who built the underworld."

"He said he would take my father with him.

They were training ten children from different families.

Not for today… but for the future.

When they retired, those children would become the Ten Pillars of the Underworld."

"My grandfather refused.

But my father didn't."

"In the end, my father went with him."

"Two or three years later, he returned to the town.

But he wasn't the same."

"His fighting was on another level.

His gun control was perfect.

His mind… impossible to counter."

"That power became the beginning of our fall."

"When we became the Ten Pillars of the Underworld,

we weren't just stronger than the others—

we were smarter, faster, better."

"And that difference…"

"…became the reason for our destruction."

Phase – III

"I still remember that day clearly.

Me and my father were sitting together when a boy appeared at the edge of our town. His name was Silas.

That was the day we made the biggest mistake of our lives.

We treated him like family.

We trusted him.

My father trained him like his own son.

To me, he was like a brother… or maybe, as you would say, your uncle.

Years passed.

One night, we were celebrating. One of us had gained control over a large part of the underworld. The town was alive. Laughter, fire, wine — paradise.

Then we heard it.

Horse footsteps… coming closer.

That night became the black day of WILLSON'S TOWN.

Henry Vale, the son of Golden Vale, arrived with his gang.

And with him came a new family — WINGS.

The man leading them was Ezekiel Wings.

They came to erase us.

And in front of my eyes…

Silas killed my father. Without mercy.

Our paradise burned.

Hell was born.

My people sacrificed themselves so I could live.

I ran.

Again and again.

Until my legs failed me.

That was the day I escaped from my paradise.

No one helped me.

That day, I understood how cruel this world truly is.

Then I found a village — ROSEBERRY II.

I used everything my father taught me.

They destroyed each other through chaos and fear.

But I gave them something more — my culture, Navajo.

They began to see me as a god.

But it wasn't enough.

I wanted WINGS.

I wanted VALE.

And for that… I needed more power.

So I became a doctor.

And I became a torturer.

One day, Silas found me.

He said, 'I didn't want to do it.'

He was lying.

His greatest mistake was leaving me alive.

And now… we are returning to my paradise.

Do you want to know why?

In my culture, there is a ritual.

It is performed only when someone joins us.

And that member… is you.

They burned my town once.

But the place bound to the earth's core…

cannot be touched."

George stopped the carriage.

In front of them stood WILLSON'S TOWN.
