Time to head home," John said, obviously tired.
Without a second thought, he teleported home in an instant.
Tod was relaxing in a chair. "Hey, what's up?"
"Nothing," John replied. "I just want to get some sleep."
"Hey, at least your first day of school was on a Friday," Tod said. "You've got the weekend ahead of you—but don't forget, you've got serious training. I assigned you to a new master. You'll set off with him tomorrow, since I have to go on a mission."
"Alright," John sighed.
He entered his bedroom, turned on the TV, and just relaxed until about noon. He wasn't very hungry, but he made himself some cereal anyway. After eating, he returned to bed and watched the news—a few politicians were discussing teleporters, remarking how rare it was to see one.
Eventually, his eyelids grew heavy. The TV still played in the background, but John drifted off into sleep, exhaustion finally catching up with him.
