Taro collapsed on the ground, and newfound memories came to him as if they were his own. In the memories, he finally saw what he looked like and who he truly was.
The boy from the newfound memories was also named Taro—Taro Hosai. A dark brown boy with spiky hair and red eyes. He was the third child of the Patriarch of the Hosai Clan.
From the memories, the clan had over 300 members, with 210 of them being shinobi. The Hosai Clan was a diminishing clan, often overlooked by the major clans in the Sand. Their people were malnourished, and their ninjas weakened from battles.
Taro looked through the memories and thought, "Calculating using the memories, this should be the Warring States Era in Naruto."
He sighed and said, "As long as I'm far away from those Uchigers, I can build up my force and strengthen my clan."
After assimilating the new memories, Taro stood up and went outside to finish his mission.
As he opened the door, a hot breeze struck him. The building he was in was the main building of the clan, located at the center of the territory. The view wasn't something to brag about, as it showed dilapidated buildings and malnourished clan members.
When he stepped out, a ninja suddenly appeared in front of him. "Young Master Taro, are you feeling all better now?" The ninja smiled and gave a polite bow.
The ninja was around twenty and had fair skin, even with the never-ending heatwave.
From Taro's memories, the ninja's name was Toji, a Chunin-level ninja.
[Author's note: There are no structured rankings in the Warring States Era, but I will just make one so it's easier for you guys.
Clansman = Genin – Chunin
Team Leader = Elite Chunin – Special Jonin
Elite Clansman = Jonin – Elite Jonin
Elder or Clan Head = Elite Jonin – Kage]
Taro smiled back. "Mr. Toji, can you take me to my father?"
Toji nodded. "Please, follow me."
As the two walked toward the building next door, he saw children staring at him, nothing but hunger in their eyes. Even so, there was no hostility—just pure hunger.
Taro pitied them, but he couldn't do anything to help. He had just arrived in this world with no resources of his own—only the quest he was given.
Moments later, the two finally reached the office of the Clan Patriarch.
Toji knocked on the door. "Clan Head, Young Master Taro wishes to see you."
A raspy voice responded almost instantly. "Come in."
Toji opened the door, and a burst of smoke came out. "Tobacco?" Taro thought.
Taro stepped inside and met eyes the same color as his own. The Clan Patriarch had dark brown skin with blood-red eyes. His hair was darker than the night sky, and the aura he gave off made Taro's body chill for a split second.
From Taro's memories, his father was named Masahiro Hosai—a stern but loving old man.
"What is it, Taro? Dad is a bit busy right now…"
As Taro only wanted to finish the mission, he had no excuse to tell his father, so he made one on the spot. "I wanna learn how to use ninjutsu already!"
Masahiro frowned, as he had yet to teach or even show Taro a single ninjutsu. Taro was his youngest and was loved by him and his wife, but he was also sickly, so the two did not want him to grow up as a ninja.
Of course, Taro knew this from his memories. However, one of his older brothers had recently shown him "ninjutsu." Using this as an excuse would allow him another opportunity to learn ninjutsu.
"Who told you what that is?" Masahiro asked with a frown.
Taro smiled like a child. "Second elder brother did! He can control the wind, Dad!"
Veins appeared on Masahiro's forehead. "That brat!"
Masahiro sighed and told Taro, "I'll speak with you later tonight. Go head back for now and rest well."
"Ok!"
Taro stepped outside and met Toji, who was waiting for him.
Toji asked, "Where would you like to go now?"
Taro smiled. "Let's go for a walk around the clan."
"Although the system didn't specify how much of the clan I need to explore, I can just walk around while meeting people," Taro thought to himself.
Time passed, and the mission was finally completed. The sun was setting, so Taro went back home.
When he arrived, the first thing he did was open the system.
