William's pov
Sweat trickled from my head down to my pants,what the hell was I thinking making out with Bob in my home?.
"What do you mean it's not what you think, you're half naked!" Ruth's eyes were teary, she tried so hard to hold them in but the tears betrayed her,she fell to her knees and wailed,I rushed over to plead with her but she shoved me aside"get away from me William"
"So all these while we were in spain,you were fucking this him?,or was he fucking you?, you're married with kids for crying out loud!!!" Ruth was raging, swamped in a mix of emotions.
"No,I was there with Mr Richard, William and I did nothing in Madrid" Bob tried to explain but it obviously made things worse,it was as if there was a surge of andrenalin in Ruth when she heard his voice,she sprung up and looked Bob dead in the eye"Now I'm only going to say this for your sake,stay away from William or you might not live to regret it,now get out"
"Ruth it has not gotten to that _"
"Shut up William,did you hear me speak to you?" Ruth cut in .
Bob looked at me,his eyes yearning for help and pity,but what could I do?I wanted to help him.I wanted to look Ruth in the face and tell her how much I loved Bob, but at what cost?I would lose everything,all the connections her name brought,if I'm about to go against my dad,I need her as an ally.
I stood like a mannequin,helpless and weak and watched Bob grab his bag and leave the house, just the same way I stood while dad hit mom.
"So.. William,what do you have to say for yourself?"she asked ,her hands crossed over her breast.
"Ruth,I promise you, nothing is going on between I and Bob,it was a mistake that will never happen again, c'mon,you know I love you babe" I stretched out my hands in a bid to hug her, maybe there's a one percent chance she will believe my story.
She looked my straight in the eye,wiped her tears and smiles mischievously"you must take me for a fill William,you must think that I'm weak,but I have only one thing to tell you, whatever you have going on with that dude ends today,you better put your dick in your pants or I'll have to tell me father"
"It hasn't gotten to that, wait Ruth _" she shoved me aside and stormed out of the house.
I just got myself into a whole new mess.Ruth mustn't tell her father about what happened even if it means that I have to stop seeing him,I just need to figure out who tried to kill him .
"Hello ma'am, you're speaking with Helen's nephew,do you by chance know whether she was time she'll be closing the boutique today ?,I want to know the best time to drop by at the house " I asked the cashier at moms boutique over the phone,I was going to break into the house, maybe I can find something to prove she was the one behind all this.
"She's not at work now sir,she mentioned going to the hospital or something, I'm not sure" she replied.
"Thank you dear"line disconnects
I had a key to mom's London apartment,she didn't stay there much after the divorce but most of her stuff was still there and she would crash there on emergencies or whenever she's in London.
Her house was about twenty minutes away from my place so I got there in no time. As expected,the key card worked. Mom was someone that didn't bother much about security,she believed that once it's one's time to die,it will happen,no matter the security detail.
I went into her house office and began to skim through her files, thoroughly but gently so it isn't obvious that there was a break in.
It was then that I stumbled upon an envelope,the seal was broken so I decided to dig in after all,what I saw proved my suspicions, pictures of Bob, while we were in Spain and when he got back to London,his birth certificate,U.S home address and so many other personal informations,I was about to close the envelope when it slipped from my hand and fell to the floor, then I saw it,a picture I apparently skipped,a picture of Bob boarding the taxi,the taxi that he ended up in an accident with.
I hurriedly gathered the photos and made my way out of the house.I had all the evidence I needed,my instincts were right after all and I was sure as hell going to make her pay.
I was almost at the door when I ran into mom,I didn't hear her come in,I guess I was too distracted to have paid attention to the car sound. She stood for a minute then her eyes drifted to the envelope in my hand.
"What are you doing here Bob, and what is that in your hand" she asked,her eyes not leaving the envelope.
"I'm sure you know mom,but don't worry,if I must spell it out,it is the evidence I needed to prove that you tried to kill Bob.
She looked surprised yet amused at the same time,she wasn't scared that he got caught,"What are you talking about William?,you have always been clueless just like your father ".
"Please stop it mom,I have the pictures,you have been stalking him, and when you finally got the chance,you eliminated him just because you found out he was sleeping with dad"
"Oh really, you're always good at ignoring what's right in front of you,I wasn't surprised when I found out your dad had something with him,I was rather surprised about you dear son" she replied with a smirk.
"What?,how did you_"
"How did I find out?" She cut in,you'll do well to ask your wife, and about the accident,I think she knows way more than you could have imagined.
