In the two weeks since he left the forest, Fulen's quality of life had improved by more than just a notch compared to before. A table and room that could grow anywhere was the best dream for every fake camper, and also Fulen's favorite thing as a traveler who disliked living in the wild.
While Fulen and Granda lived together, Fulen finally let down his guard against Granda, because he truly felt that the strange taste of the venison Granda made wasn't due to Granda poisoning him, but rather that the seasonings produced by the large tree stump Granda herself created were inherently problematic.
It wasn't about quality or being poisonous. The seasonings from Mother God's Table actually smelled no different. Fulen tasted them carefully; they were exactly like normal seasonings. However, once heated, the seasonings' flavors would undergo various strange mutations. But after Fulen personally tested them and inquired, even though the taste mutated, they were still not poisonous.
Fulen was actually very surprised that Mother God's Table even had the function of heating with fire, but after thinking about it, this was a mysterious world, so he felt relieved.
However, even though the seasonings' taste would mutate, Granda's cooking skills were also problematic. She often got carried away while cooking and then started "innovating." While she enjoyed eating her own creations, for Fulen, it was quite a torment.
But after Fulen tried cooking once and confirmed that Granda's skills were indeed problematic, Granda naturally took over the important task of cooking again. Although Fulen wanted to speak his mind, he shamefully retreated under her earnest gaze.
"Food and sex are human nature." Fulen didn't care if this saying applied here. Every time he ate food personally prepared by the beautiful young lady, in order not to disappoint her, Fulen could only betray his taste buds, give a thumbs up, and praise her. Don't ask why; Fulen was a gentleman.
Fortunately, it was only two weeks after all, and Fulen, under the pretext of repaying Granda, gradually took over the right to use Mother God's Table. It was then that Fulen learned this seed first needed to be catalyzed by Granda to grow. Once the table was fully catalyzed, by inputting spirituality and Fulen's own thoughts, the table's mode could be changed.
Fulen genuinely felt that this plant was like a household extraordinary materials, truly quite convenient. However, Mother God's Table also had a side effect: it had to be personally catalyzed by Granda. Even other Druids might not succeed in catalyzing it, and it could only exist for one day. Creating a table also required many troublesome procedures, which is why even Granda only had one.
Although Fulen was a bit surprised at first, he soon felt relieved after thinking about it. After all, this table was so magical. Although it didn't seem to have any offensive power, that didn't mean offensive power was the only measure of an item's technical content. On the contrary, sometimes inconspicuous things could have astonishingly high technological content.
However, Granda was not yet a demigod. Although Granda's ideas and practical abilities were top-notch, the inadequacy of her own Beyonder abilities was also an obstacle to her completing a truly meaningful table. But with Granda present, all the table's shortcomings could be overcome, as there are always more solutions than problems.
The closer one got to the outer layer of the forest, the sparser the vegetation cover became. Although there were still trees, the various shrubs between the trees had decreased. It was possible that human activity had unconsciously inhibited the growth of plants, which is why there was such a natural division between the wilderness and human habitation.
What appeared before Fulen and Granda was a small village. Fortunately, the first place Fulen and they encountered was a village, not just a single house indicating human presence.
In places where trees were only scattered, there were farmers cultivating fields. Fulen was initially a bit curious why farming would happen in winter, but then he realized it might be spring now, and so he stopped moving forward.
The diligent farmers were planting rice seedlings, neither hearing nor having the leisure to look up at others. So, although Fulen and Granda discovered many farmers along the way, they were not noticed by them.
Of course, there were also people resting after the busy farming season, but those speaking Faynapotter Language clearly had no interest in expending their recovering energy on people who had nothing to do with them.
So, it wasn't until Fulen approached the village that he noticed a few old people smoking pipes and chatting, and beside them were scattered children playing.
Fulen specifically glanced at some of the toys the children were playing with; they were items woven from grass and rope, similar to a soccer ball. When Granda saw the children playing and the soccer toy rolled near Fulen and her, she couldn't help but step forward, skillfully stop the ball with her feet, and after showing off some fancy footwork, kicked the ball back to the children.
Watching Granda's amazing ball skills and the children's cheers and delighted eyes, Fulen, though he had never played soccer himself, remembered the joy of his own childhood play. So he couldn't help but let out a laugh. However, Fulen ultimately wanted to first ascertain his location, so he quickly prepared to chat with the elders in the village.
The idle chatter of the village elders also ceased due to the sudden arrival of guests. Fulen, knowing his place, stepped forward and asked, "Elders, I am a wandering traveller. I got lost in the forest and only just came out. May I ask where this place is?"
An old man smoking a dry pipe tapped his pipe and said with a smile, "Young man, how could you be so careless? Although the forest here isn't too deep, if you go a little deeper into it, it becomes a very large forest. You could even pass through there to Intis and Loen. As for here, this is Star-Moon Village."
After speaking, the old man took another puff from his pipe, clearly assuming that Fulen had gotten lost with friends in the forest after traveling nearby, and only later found their way out with his friends. The time spent might have been only two or three days, or even just half a day. Such a short time could only indicate a small county town around this village, so the old man assumed Fulen knew where Star-Moon Village was.
However, it was clear that Fulen could at most deduce from the other party's Faynapotter Language and the fact that this was the southern part of the continent that it was Lenburg or Faynapotter. Seeing Granda's unfamiliar expression, he gathered that this was a small country like Lenburg. As for anything else, Fulen was unsure.
