Chapter 1 - Red.

"Life wants you, we can bring it on the floor and never dance like this before, we don't talk about it, dance upon do the boogie all night long, stolen paradise."

Walking down the streets of Gotham, a twenty two year old Blind lawyer fresh out of law school hummed to himself, Dressed in a all black suit and red glasses, Matthew Murdock held onto his cane tapping the ground ahead of him and continued on his way.

Matt felt lighter than he's ever did, After Rejecting a full time position at Lexs Firm he interned at metropolis, and watching the face of his old boss morph into shock and then turn red, he felt satisfied.

Sure they payed over six figures, and the benefits were great but, Matt didn't want it, all the shady stuff he's heared while working there made his stomach churn, he became a lawyer to help people and thats what he was going to do, lexs firm be damned!

Which led him back here Gotham city, Home.

Work was going to be easy to find no doubt about it, Even for his other activities. Before returning home, Matt did a little digging, it seemed a lot had happed to Gotham while he was gone, he was used to the all time high crime rates, Matt lived here all his life and never once did he not hear the sounds of guns shots ever stopping. But what made Matt suprised was that the Batman rumor was not a rumor anymore, and it looked like the man in the cape has been busy, Arkham had been Full with drug bosses, arsonists, Killers, Gangsters, and etc. Every night, and before sunrise Arkham would get new inmates thanks to him.

There was also others, related to the Batman Matt didn't know but they helped keep the streets safe, that was all Matt scrounged up before he made it back to Gotham.

'That should be her, she smells good.' Matt Thought, smelling a sweet fragrance, a soft voice spoke, standing infront of a small building, was a nicely shaped woman with long blonde hair and blue eyes, smiling towards him, she went closer to him dressed in a nice black dress alongside black heels, she looked hesitant, from the way her heart beat Matt could tell, that she didn't know if she had the right blind guy or not, with a smile it was time to mess with her a bit.

"Mr. Matthew Murdock Correct?"

In that moment Matt Bitt the side of his cheek to not expose what he was about to do flinching, enough to make her panic hearing her heart rate speed up, and the sound of sweat roll down her cheek he spoke.

"Jesus you came out of nowhere, scared the hell out of me and what did you say Matthew Murdock, who the hell is that?"

Matt pointed his cane towards her, holding his chest all while she started to apologize over and over again, holding back his grin he got her, Bingo.

"I'm sorry please forgive me, I am waiting for a client that also has the Same condition as you his name is Matthew merdock Do you perhaps know him."

Matt could practically here her heart drop as it went to overdrive, those last words she said even made him wince, time to roll the dice a little more than that's game.

"Are you saying, all blind people know each other."

"No I uh that's not what I mean, damn it I uh I'm sorry please-."

Her heart sounded like a damn engine, that was enough messing around with her, or else she might have a heart attack, not holding back his smile anymore Matt started to laugh.

"Sorry I just wanted to mess with you, didn't mean to take it To far I am Matthew Murdock, but you can call me Matt sorry again."

If Matt wasn't Blind, he would wish he was, glaring towards Matt with a look that could kill, her heart rate slowed down.

"Jerk."

She said bitterly.

"People always end up calling me that."

And it was the truth, the amount of times Matt been called jackass, jerk, prick and a whole lot more it was to many to count.

"I didnt know blind people where such dicks."

Matt answered back.

"Well I cant see it so what there to lose."

If it wasent because of her heart beating, and the smell of sweetness coming off of her, and a lot else variables Matt would have thought she left, until he heard a soft beautiful laugh.

"Your still a jerk but your funny matt."

Matt responded back by saying.

"Enough to buy you a drink."

"Oh will see Mr. Murdock, it depends on how well today goes, anyways I am Dinah Laurel lance your realtor."

Matt practically felt the shift in her emotions, from pissed of to, smiling Joy absolutely terrifying how women where capable of such things, but that name Dinah it had a little ring to it, maybe coming home was the right thing after all, oh is she extending her arm did she forget that I'm blind.

"Oh sorry, uhmm never mind let me guide you into the place."

Hooping her arms through Matt, Matt spoke up.

"Would you mind describing the place to me Dinah, I would if I could but you know eyes haven't worked since I was nine."

Dinah stopped abruptly, Matt could here her take a sharp breath of air as she muttered words calling herself stupid over again until she spoke up again, this time with a happy tune.

"It would be my pleasure."

"Thank you."

Matt said, as Dinah stared at the front portion of the small building taking a little while before responding.

"Well it a brick by brick building with a bright red door that has been repainted recently, with a large window right next to it that takes a portion of the front, the shutters are down blocking the view, and that's it pretty simple for the outside."

Matt nodded, but couldn't help but internally imagine a chibi version of himself, stare at the building infront of him and sigh while looking down at his wallet with sadness.

This was the best he was going to get, with the funds he had, but he was going to bargen the price down as much as he could, after all crime alley was practically next door.

Moving on to the inside of the place Matt could smell, Dust, cleaning agents, Wood, And copper, with a slight frown he knew about the history of this place. The sucides, The Homicides, Still he had hoped the smell of blood would have faded.

And then there were rats, he could hear those little screeches under the flooring, and two in the ceiling, Great, he could smell all there little droppings.

With a flick the lights of the building turned on, Dinah coughed lightly.

"Sorry excuse me, just sensitive to colox Ehmm, the furniture has been fully restocked, You have a nice hand crafted wooden Desk, With three wooden chairs, you also have a small office space with the same set up, sadly there is no restrooms but just a walk away is a corner store, and just outside the building across the streets is a porter John, you could thank the construction crew for that I heard they where building another nightclub, so if you ever wanted to stretch your legs and have fun just follow the sounds of the loud music."

The chibi version of Matt just straight up fell to his knees, as he imagined himself in his office space typing away, while loud music shook his desk and neon lights blazed though the windows. Or if he was trying to catch some Zs, but couldn't because of the music, making the chibi version of himself scream in frustration, or even worse the restroom situation what if he ate a chimichanga loaded with his favorite hot sauce, and he really had to go only to find the porty potty occupied, making him run for his life to the corner store.

"Sounds Great Dinah, but what about the Air conditioning?"

Matt felt like his tongue just licked on sandpaper, Great was a stretch on how he was feeling.

"Don't worry you pretty Red head about it, what this place lacks in restrooms come with a nice AC unit top of the line, we just had it installed so it should work."

At least that was something Matt chibi version of himself cheered lightly, wearing a birthday cap while holding sparklers.

"That's all I needed to hear im set, now let's talk about those prices Dinah, how about over a cup of coffee."

Matt said smiling towards Dinah, while her eyes held a playful look, fiddling with a strand of her blonde hair she spoke.

"Aslong as your paying Mr. Murdock."

"Come on I told you, you can call me Matt."

With a soft laugh from Dinah, Matt playfully flirted with her, Throwing compliments in the air and jokes when the moment came Matt was in the zone, knowing when to say at the time to say it, Matt felt her heart speed up indicating she liked it.

The chibi version of himself sat on his shoulder, nodding profusely crossing his arms when his compliments made her blush.

By the time Matt knew it half the day had gone by, talking with Dinah for hours on end with no stop insight, it was refreshing honestly, pleasant they had long talked about the price of the building and agreed on the price she lowered, which was a plus in his book.

Now even if he couldn't physically see her, he could feel her presence, it was soft kind beautiful, holding a smile as he sat across from her in a bar they found nearby, to celebrate his purchase, Which so happened to be her first Sale, go figure.

"Yeah and I clocked the bastard right in his jaw, like why wouldn't I he stole ice cream from a sweat old kid, But get this Matt the prick had it coming that wasent the first time he had stolen ice cream from a kid, that jackass was a serial ice cream thief, ridiculous name I know anyways, he would snatch the cones off there hands and run off, leaving those poor babies crying, it's still pisses me off that they let him go the next day damn cops ain't good for nothing."

Hearing her rant while she snacked off nachos, made Matt laugh, he still was abit shocked if that was the right word, he knew she had a loose tongue, but hearing her, her real self was like a shot of espresso.

"Serial ice cream thief."

Matt said, taking a drink from his beer.

"Yeah real peice of work I'll tell ya."

Huffing Dinah stared at Matt before she started laughing.

"What?"

Matt asked leaning on his hand, while she shook her head before saying.

"Nothing it's just, it's been a while since I talked to someone this long and, it's nice."

Dinah face bloomed, her eys stared into Matt with a glint of something, Matt felt the same, it's been a while since he last sat down and talked with someone, he was on the same boat.

"I know what you mean, so does this mean I'll get a second date."

Matt ignored the chibi version of himself hitting him with a bat in the head, yelling something to him while Dinah raised a brow and grinned.

"So is that what this was a date, hmmm."

She said stretching the words playfully, but Matt could tell she wasn't denying it.

"You tell me Dinah."

Reaching for her hand that lay on the table, she didn't move away from his touch, Matt could hear her heart speed up abit as she spoke teasingly.

"I guess will see matt, I guess will see."

"I guess we will."

Matt could taste the Tension in the air, as he payed for the bill, she hung on his arm more tightly pressing her body closer to his, once they where outside the moon shined brightly, before he knew it he felt a soft sensation touch his cheeks, followed by that same beautiful laugh, he started to like.

Dinah let go of his arm as she skipped away from him before stopping and turning around, if only he could see he would have saw the radiant smile she had, holding her arms behind her back as the lights from the cars passing Dinah spoke.

"There's you answer Red, I'll be seeing you!"

Before Matt could fumble the words from his mouth, Dinah took off putting his hand in his pocket a smile formed on his face.

'Red huh.' Matt thought, walking down the side walk.

"Stop no Please I'll get the money! Don't touch me, NO! Oh Gods NO!"

And then it all came crashing down, For just a moment Matt had forgotten, The truth about Gotham, His eyes turned cold his smile wiped away, his night ruined by the stench of this godforsaken city, like dominos tipping over, Matt heared them all.

"Mommy!"

A little girl cried pulling on the arm of her mom, who layed on a puddle of her own blood, while a man ran gripping onto a bloody purse.

"Hurry up, get in the damn Box!"

Shouted a man in a clown mask, pointing a gun towards a group of scared girls, who backed inside a shipping container.

"Heads or tails, cobblepot, The clocks ticking, Tick, tok."

Ontop of a roof two groups of people pointed guns at each other, dressed in a half white and half black suit was a man with a disfigured face, and opposite of him an angred overweight man gave him the finger as the roof turned into a gun fight.

Matts fist clenched, gripping on his tie he loosened it, his red glasses glowed under the moon lights shine, Turing into an alley he walked into the shadows, deep in the trash a black cat shivered looking into the dark, it saw nothing until, two red irises appeared staring right back at, jumping from the trash the black cat ran, stepping out of the shadows was no man but a devil in human form, dressed in bloody red.

"Tonight Gotham Bleeds."
