Chapter 43 - [43] Voldemort's Shadowy Lessons Unfold!

It was Saturday afternoon.

Hogwarts students do not have classes on weekends.

Most of the older students would go to Hogsmeade Village to spend money or have fun.

The younger students can only wander around the campus aimlessly.

Argus adjusted his mindset and went to Quirrell's office.

"Mr. Grindelwald, you are very punctual."

As soon as he entered, Voldemort's voice reached Argus' ears.

Bang!

The door slammed shut.

Argus replied respectfully, "It's what I should do, teacher!"

"Hahaha..."

Voldemort was very pleased with the teacher's address.

With a wave of his hand, the notebook in Argus's arms flew into his hand.

As he flipped through the pages, the only sound in the room was the rustling of paper as it passed through.

"Very good, Argus, it seems you have indeed been studying diligently during this time."

Voldemort's eyes showed approval.

The notebook was filled with all sorts of thoughts and insights, clearly showing that the author had studied it carefully.

No teacher will ever tire of a hardworking and talented student.

Do you have a new perspective on the Dark Arts now?

"Yes! I used to think that malice was the standard for judging Dark Arts, but through the notes you gave me, I discovered that the essence of Dark Arts and white magic seems to be different."

"Many white magic spells, even when studied to an extremely advanced level, are far less lethal than Dark Arts."

Voldemort placed the notebook on the table and said calmly, "The fact that you noticed this proves that you have grasped the essence of magic."

"Origin?"

A hint of doubt flashed in Argus's eyes.

"That's right, simply put, it's the original intention behind the creation of magic!"

"For example, Avada Kedavra was created for the purpose of killing, while Lumos is for illumination."

"The difference in intent arises when you use these two spells."

"To some extent, Dark Arts may not be more powerful than white magic, but its destructive power is incomparable to that of white magic."

Although Voldemort is known as the Dark Lord, it does not mean that he lacks knowledge of white magic.

On the contrary, his mastery of white magic is second to none!

"Understood, teacher, thank you for your guidance!" Argus bowed in thanks and continued to ask questions that had accumulated over the past few days.

"During this time when I was practicing magic, I discovered that some spells for curses are very similar to evil curses."

"But when I tried to combine several evil curses, I couldn't achieve the desired effect no matter what I did."

Voldemort waved his wand, and an owl appeared out of nowhere on the blank desktop.

"Argus, I must say, you are very observant."

"Take the owl, which is the most frequently used tool by young wizards, for example!"

With a light tap of the wand, the owl emitted a sharp, piercing hoot.

Voldemort frowned, waved his hand, and the sound vanished into thin air.

The owl opened its beak wide, but no sound came out.

"An owl's body is composed of various parts such as skin, bones, blood, and flesh."

"But what if we separate them individually!"

The next second, the live owl was instantly dismantled into its various parts!

The bloody organs irritated Argus' eyes.

But his expression didn't change at all; in fact, it even carried a hint of inquiry.

Voldemort was increasingly satisfied and placed several organs directly in front of Argus.

"A perfect life is composed of these parts, but that doesn't mean that these parts combined together constitute life!"

A glint flashed in Argus' eyes.

"I understand, teacher!"

"A spell may be composed of several other spells, but these spells need to be in a certain order, in a certain combination, and under certain conditions."

"Only when all the elements are met can this spell be formed!"

"That's right!"

In the following time, Argus asked about the problems he had recently encountered one by one.

Putting aside his stance, Voldemort was a very competent teacher.

Not only does he have a wealth of knowledge, but he also explains things in a simple and easy-to-understand way, using various familiar examples.

Argus had a very fruitful afternoon.

"Any other questions, Argus?"

Voldemort was extremely satisfied with this intelligent and studious disciple.

When Argus talks about things, he can often draw inferences from one instance to another, which saves him a lot of time.

"That's all for now. Thank you for your guidance, teacher."

Argus bowed respectfully.

There was a certain sincerity in his use of "teacher."

"Do you remember what I asked you to tell me last time?"

"There is a three-headed dog hidden in the restricted area on the third floor. It seems to be guarding something, but I don't know what it is yet."

"Fluffy..."

Voldemort murmured to himself, seemingly deep in thought.

After a long while, he asked again.

"What about Harry Potter?"

"What information about him would you like to know?"

"All!"

Voldemort was still in the remnant soul stage, and Quirrell's health was deteriorating.

Most of the time they are unwilling to use magic, and their perception of the outside world and intelligence gathering are extremely limited.

Even after the last Defense Against the Dark Arts class, when they had some doubts about Harry, they only managed to gather some basic information.

"Then I'll start from before he enrolled," Argus replied calmly, showing no impatience.

"Harry lived with his aunt before enrolling in school, where he was abused and never had any exposure to magic, not even knowing the identities of his parents."

Besides some key information in future plot developments, such as Harry being Voldemort's Horcrux and living at his aunt's house because of his mother's spell, etc.

Argus recounted the rest of the information about Harry's personality and experiences.

After listening, Voldemort fell into thought again.

A few minutes later, he raised his head.

"Well done, this is your reward."

With a flick of his wand, a new notebook, along with the one Argus had finished reading, flew into Argus's arms.

"Continue to gather intelligence about Harry Potter; we need your cooperation in some subsequent operations."

I will contact you in advance.

"Yes, teacher!"

...

Argus walked out of Quirrell's office.

It had gotten completely dark.

"As expected of Britain, it gets dark at just past four o'clock."

"Go back and pack your things. Vinda should be arriving in Hogsmeade soon."

Argus returned to his dormitory and took out the Marauder's Map, his exploration radar.

Having evaded several classmates and professors, Argus followed an underground tunnel all the way to Hogsmeade Village.

However, as soon as he arrived, Argus discovered a problem.

Hogsmeade is too big!

He hadn't agreed on a specific location with Vinda, and for a moment he didn't know where to look for her!

After looking around for a while, Argus walked towards the place that seemed to be the most crowded nearby.

However... his judgment seems to have been somewhat flawed.

Argus thought he had come to the Three Broomsticks.

But... there was a huge Hog's Head hanging at the door.
