Chapter 109 -  One-Shot! Again! Again!

One of the greatest strengths of the move Dig lies in how it completely blocks vision before launching a sudden attack, often catching opponents utterly off guard.

However, what Oliver's Garchomp demonstrated went far beyond that.

By sensing vibrations in the ground, it pinpointed Dugtrio's exact position and delivered a decisive strike—through layers of earth—instantly knocking it out.

The scene left the entire stadium stunned.

For a moment, the girl with the bun hairstyle stood there in a daze. Then she quickly recalled Dugtrio and waved for the medical staff to take it away for treatment.

Oliver's entrance—and that overwhelming first-round defeat—caused the remaining members of Mian City No. 1 High School to feel an enormous surge of pressure.

"Captain… what do we do now?"

"Who goes up next?"

Their captain, Gao Zhen, clenched his teeth.

"There's no choice. You go first," he said grimly.

"Do whatever you can to drain Garchomp's stamina. If I get the chance… I might still be able to deal with him."

The team members knew this was their only option.

Letting Oliver sweep them five-to-one would be far too humiliating.

Second Battle — Still a One-Shot

The next challenger stepped onto the field.

His Pokémon was Emboar, one of the Fire-type starters.

But the result did not change.

Before Emboar could even fully unleash its power, Garchomp's Dragon Claw struck.

The massive Pokémon was sent flying, crashing hard before losing consciousness.

"Another one-hit knockout!"

"The moment Oliver's Garchomp makes a move, the battle ends!" the host shouted.

From the Stands — Total Confidence

In Rong City No. 1 High School's waiting area:

"Do you think Captain Oliver can five-sweep them?" Qi Jun asked.

"That's a stupid question," Liu Lixuan replied instantly.

"This is pure domination."

"Honestly," Guo Shengfu added,

"we're basically just here to watch today."

Third, Fourth… Still One Move

Mian City No. 1 sent out Magnezone next.

Electric and Steel-type—completely countered.

Garchomp didn't even move forward.

A single Sand Tomb.

The battle ended before either Pokémon changed position.

Then came Beedrill, a Mid-High Tier Pokémon known for speed.

One move.

Another instant defeat.

"The fourth consecutive one-shot!" the host roared.

"Oliver has already eliminated four opponents without taking a single hit!"

The stadium was in chaos.

Now, only one remained.

Final Stand — Gao Zhen Enters

Only Gao Zhen was left.

He stepped onto the battlefield, gripping his Poké Ball so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

"Oliver," Gao Zhen said calmly,

"I truly admire you. Your achievements in Pokémon research are already legendary—but your training ability surpasses us just as completely."

"Losing to you… there's no shame in that."

With a shout, he hurled the Poké Ball with all his strength, as if releasing every ounce of pressure he had endured.

"Greninja! Give it everything!"

A flash of red light burst forth.

Greninja flipped elegantly through the air, launching a rapid barrage of Water Shuriken toward Garchomp.

Garchomp raised its arms calmly.

The fin-blades on its forearms intercepted every shuriken with ease.

Its expression turned slightly disdainful.

This one… finally looks like a real opponent.

Garchomp swiped forward with Dragon Claw, shattering another shuriken midair before charging straight at Greninja.

"Greninja, pull back! Keep your distance!" Gao Zhen shouted.

Water-types counter Ground-types—Gao Zhen intended to rely on Greninja's speed and ranged pressure.

But Garchomp wasn't a reckless brute.

And Oliver was still standing behind it.

"Dig."

Garchomp vanished into the ground instantly.

So fast that most people didn't even see the digging motion.

Gasps echoed through the stadium.

"That Dig was ridiculously fast!"

Gao Zhen snapped out of his shock immediately.

"Greninja, watch the ground—stay alert!"

But Greninja couldn't sense underground movement.

It had no choice but to keep its eyes locked on the battlefield, nerves stretched to the limit.

Then—

A tremor beneath its feet.

By the time Greninja noticed…

It was already too late.
