Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 — Departing from City 003, Spiritual Chanting?

January 1, 2057, 7:21 a.m.

Jiang Yan and Janet were fully geared up, riding the special vehicle of the Extreme Martial Arts Hall toward the Southeast Military Region's supply base.

They still needed to buy a few daily necessities before entering the abandoned zone.

"The number of warriors here is insane…"

Janet couldn't help sighing.

In the Southeast Military Region's warrior supply base, warriors of every type came and went—busy, loud, bustling. It looked more like a giant marketplace than a military facility.

This was the largest warrior supply base Janet had ever seen.

"More is normal."

Jiang Yan chuckled.

Janet nodded. As a member of the Elite Training Camp, she knew at least a little about City 003.

The abandoned City 003—formerly the Magic Capital—was one of the most dangerous regions in the entire Eurasian continent.

Close to the ocean, bordering Su Province's network of rivers and lakes, with building clusters dense as forests… all of this made it a perfect breeding ground for monsters.

Inside that area:

Lord-level monsters were everywhere.

High-level Beast Generals appeared frequently.

And there were even King-level monsters lurking within.

The danger level of Abandoned City 003 was frighteningly high.

But danger attracted profit—so warriors from all over the world flocked here to hunt.

"Let's buy everything quickly and move out," Jiang Yan said.

Janet agreed.

Soon after, the two finished their purchases and left the supply base, immediately drawing the attention of many warriors.

"Those two kids? Heading toward City 003?"

"I've never seen them. Newborn calves really aren't afraid of tigers, huh? They dare enter 003?"

"What do you know? They're from the Extreme Martial Arts Academy's God of War Preparatory Camp. Don't look at their young faces—they could beat you old guys into the ground."

"Damn… I misjudged them! No wonder they dare go in."

The comments flowed nonstop.

The two were young, handsome, eye-catching—easy to mistake for rich second-gens playing adventurer.

After leaving the supply base, Jiang Yan and Janet drove along the highway for two days before finally arriving at the outer perimeter of City 003.

"We're still twenty kilometers from the target location."

Jiang Yan tapped his combat watch, checking the map.

Two markers glowed—their own position and Li Wei's current position.

Venina had invested over a billion in him—eight Series-8 combat suits, eight Series-8 combat weapons—and asked him to let Li Wei follow him for experience.

How could he refuse?

Her investment fit perfectly with his plans. And one day… if he wanted to get closer to Venina? Li Wei was the best stepping stone.

Adult friendships were all calculations.

Venina wanted a future ally.

He accepted the investment—and intended to obtain "benefits" of his own in return.

It was a win-win.

Reborn into this world with a plug-in, his life goals were very simple:

One—become the Hunyuan Lord.

Two—get all the girls he wanted.

Becoming the Hunyuan Lord depended 10% on himself, 90% on his plug-in.

But picking up girls?

That required skill. Real skill.

His philosophy was simple:

Establish a heart for maidens.

Guide knowledge for beauties.

Bring warmth to lonely widows.

In short—he wanted everything.

"These twenty kilometers might take an hour or two," Janet said solemnly, pulling Jiang Yan back from his daydreams.

City 003 was unpredictable.

A ruined building might hide dozens of monsters.

Caution was mandatory.

"If only I were a spiritual chanting master… we wouldn't have to inch forward like this."

Jiang Yan sighed.

With mental force sweeping the surroundings, everything within kilometers would be crystal clear. No need for cautious movement.

"Spiritual chanting masters are born, not made. We can only envy them."

Janet shook her head.

In the Elite Training Camp, there was a spiritual chanting student who joined just a year earlier—yet he had already rushed into the top fifty of the Black Dragon List.

Janet could only envy.

He could earn in a day the record points she needed two or three days to collect. How could she not envy that?

"Only envy, huh…"

Jiang Yan muttered.

He didn't think so.

They all had spiritual power—warriors' spiritual power was actually very strong, sometimes not inferior in quality to even a genius like Luo Feng. The only issue was quantity.

If he obtained a mental cultivation method…

With his plug-in, he could elevate his spiritual mind to a level comparable to Luo Feng's metal sphere.

Completely possible.

But for now—he had to wait.

Babata definitely had the cultivation method of spiritual telekinesis, but Babata wouldn't guide him unless he became a spiritual chant talent… which required Luo Feng.

Thinking of this, Jiang Yan squeezed Janet's hand and slightly quickened their pace.

Meanwhile…

Inside an abandoned high-rise, Luo Feng stood at the window, binoculars in hand. He watched a small building a kilometer away.

"Strange… it's already this late, yet they still haven't gone out to hunt."

Luo Feng frowned.

He had been squatting here for three days.

For three days, Captain Pan Ya of the Huya Squad and the other three members had accompanied Li Wei everywhere, even when hunting monsters.

There was never a gap.

He simply couldn't find a chance to kill Pan Ya and the others.

"Give it one more day. If they still don't separate tomorrow… then I'll force them to."

A cold gleam flickered in Luo Feng's eyes.

He had already scouted the area thoroughly these past few days.

Near here was a massive lion-dog herd—over a thousand in number.

Its leaders:

Two high-level Beast General lion-dogs.

If he lured that herd toward Li Wei's temporary stronghold…

Wouldn't the group be forced to split?

He had never used such a dangerous method before—if Li Wei somehow realized Luo Feng had intentionally lured the monsters…

With Li Wei's background, Luo Feng might not survive.

But he was at his limit.

He didn't want to wait any longer.

He began planning quickly.

"Hmm… I have to be careful. I can't expose myself, and I have to successfully lure that lion-dog herd over."

His eyes darkened.

Tomorrow… things would change.
