Chapter 156: Air Showdown, Kaido vs. Yuichi
Sky Island.
This specific island was one of the Golden Lion's strongholds. No one knew exactly how Shiki had raised this particular landmass into the sky. Although he relied on the Float-Float Fruit's ability, without Shiki's development of the fruit to such an extreme extent, this feat would have been impossible.
While this man might not currently be as powerful as Big Mom, Kaido, or Whitebeard—titans who emerged from the same era—he was certainly no weakling. Those who had once joined the Rocks Pirates were never lacking in skill.
After the bet between Kaido and Yuichi was established, it was impossible for them to fight in the floating fortress below; that platform simply wasn't durable enough to withstand their destructive power. On the Sky Island, however, the two could fight to their heart's content.
During the landing on the Golden Lion's territory, the appearance of Zephyr and Enel stunned Kaido, Big Mom, and Red Hair.
They were very clear about what kind of existence Zephyr was. With the addition of Golden Lion Shiki, it seemed that Yuichi's forces had truly reached the scale of a Great Pirate fleet. Furthermore, the appearance of Enel made the three Emperors feel that the opposing faction was already on par with a Yonko crew.

Both Yuichi and Kaido leaped onto the Sky Island. Although they hadn't started fighting yet, the surrounding atmosphere was already heated. The intensity of the scene made Yuichi feel as if he were a monkey being watched in a zoo, but Kaido seemed to enjoy the attention.
The terrain of this Sky Island was relatively open, featuring only a slightly raised hill upon which a basic watchtower was built. The size of the island wasn't massive, but it was spacious enough for two titans to fight freely.
After stepping onto the solid earth, Yuichi looked at the floating islands surrounding them. The place was like a fairyland on earth. Although the high altitude made the air crisp and cold, the scenery was charming.

A huge black mace slammed directly into the ground, creating a massive crater in an instant.
Kaido crossed his arms, his muscles tense.
"Boy... what are you looking around for?"
"If you want to fight me, draw your sword quickly!"
Kaido unleashed his aura, allowing the other pirates to clearly feel his overwhelming momentum. As expected of the man known as the Strongest Creature in Sea, Land, and Air. Today's Kaido of the Beasts was likely not much weaker than Whitebeard in terms of raw individual combat effectiveness.

Yuichi didn't answer, but his calm eyes seemed to say it all. Looking at Yuichi's nonchalant demeanor, the anger in Kaido's heart burned even more intensely.
"A bereaved dog driven out by the Marines... dare to underestimate me, Kaido?!"
"Humph!!"
With a cold snort, a wave of Conqueror's Haki erupted from Kaido's body and spread instantly. The entire island was enveloped in a split second.
The moment the berserk Conqueror's Haki erupted, even the people on the pirate ships floating around felt a strong sense of oppression. A feeling of drowning and suffocation suddenly washed over them. Some of the weaker pirates couldn't even stand firm; they staggered and nearly fell.
After recovering, feeling the Conqueror's Haki unleashed by a Yonko, the pirates were terrified.
"What scary Conqueror's Haki! As expected of Kaido!"

Linlin was silent for a while. What could she say? She should have thought of this long ago; how could Yuichi not have Conqueror's Haki? If he didn't have such qualifications, it would have been impossible for Whitebeard to hold him in such high regard.
But it surprised everyone nonetheless. Was Whitebeard hiding this on purpose?

Kaido sneered.
Suddenly, he raised his hand and grabbed the mace stuck in the ground in front of him.
"However, owning Conqueror's Haki is not such a big deal. Come on! Let me see what makes you so arrogant!"
With the mace resting on his shoulder, Kaido was ready to strike. But Yuichi still had no intention of drawing his sword.
This made Kaido's slightly extinguished anger rekindle instantly.
