Chapter 211: Spirit of Fire Vs. Susanoo, A Contest Without Retreat
The roar of surging flames resounded!
A fire flared up within Yuichi's chest. Before anyone could recover from Yuichi's words, the flames erupted.
Whoosh!
The fire spread, sweeping across Yuichi's entire body in an instant.
Although the flames burned violently, the bystanders did not feel the scorching heat one would expect from such high temperatures. There was no time to wonder why, however. The pink flame had begun to transform into a massive pillar of fire.
As the flames continued to expand, they faintly took on a human shape. Like the Susanoo that Madara was currently manifesting, it only possessed an upper body; the lower half had not yet condensed. The waist and abdomen were slender, not as bulky as Susanoo, covering a range of about two meters around Yuichi.
As the flames gradually solidified, the true appearance of the Spirit of Fire was revealed. It was an appearance that felt incredibly bizarre and alien to this world.
Mecha did not exist in the Pirate World, nor did they exist in the Ninja World. Yet, the appearance of the Spirit of Fire was less like a human and more like a Gundam Warrior. Not only were the waist and abdomen extremely thin, but the arms were also exceedingly long. If the Spirit of Fire's entire body were condensed, its hands would be equal in length to its height, resembling the Longarm Tribe of the Pirate World.
When such a uniquely shaped Spirit of Fire appeared, Madara showed a look of surprise. He had just claimed that Yuichi couldn't possibly summon Susanoo. Indeed, Yuichi hadn't summoned Susanoo, but the entity he had called forth made Madara's soul tremble slightly.
The power was strange!
Silence descended. The entire Enies Lobby was dead quiet. No one made a sound; only the wind blowing stones across the ground broke the stillness.
Whitebeard, Kaido, and the others stared at Yuichi with wide eyes.
Another trick I've never seen before! What kind of ability is this? It doesn't seem to be a Devil Fruit ability!
Whitebeard thought to himself, but then he glanced at Big Mom. Words could not be so absolute. For example, Big Mom's ability was very strange; being able to create all kinds of Homies with the power of the soul, one could not strictly say this wasn't a fruit ability. But if this ability of Yuichi's was a fruit ability, what kind would it be?
"Hahahaha! Interesting! I didn't expect you to have an ability similar to Susanoo! You are so interesting, Yuichi!"
Suddenly, Madara seemed very excited. His smile was exaggerated, almost maniacal, but the movements of his Susanoo were not slow. It punched directly and heavily at Yuichi's Spirit of Fire.
Provoked by Susanoo, the Spirit of Fire waved its arms like two spears. With five fingers joined together, it stabbed forward like a flaming lance.
Its astonishing speed allowed it to intercept Madara's Susanoo, grabbing it by the throat. Flames erupted against Susanoo's neck. The soul fire blooming from the Spirit of Fire's hands began to burn Susanoo madly.
In an instant, the flames gathered a surging force and melted through Susanoo's neck.
This terrifying power made Whitebeard and the others drop their jaws in disbelief. They had fought against this Susanoo just moments ago. Its defense was amazing; even the tremors of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit couldn't easily damage it. Yet, the entity Yuichi called the Spirit of Fire released flames that easily melted it!
One could only imagine how terrifying those flames were.
Madara himself was slightly startled by the power of the Spirit of Fire's flames, but he didn't care. With his Ocular Power, even if Susanoo was destroyed, he could recover it quickly. He wanted to see if this power could compare to Susanoo.
A curved lightsaber instantly appeared in Susanoo's hand. It stabbed directly at the Spirit of Fire's chest. However, in the next second, the lightsaber pierced only the surface of the Spirit of Fire's chest before stopping.
The Spirit of Fire grabbed Susanoo's arm, flames burning through the limb, causing the lightsaber to vanish. A burst of fire appeared on the Spirit of Fire's chest, slowly healing the wound. Simultaneously, Susanoo's burned body recovered in the blink of an eye.
Two huge phantoms attacked frantically.
The exchange lasted only a short ten seconds, yet the resulting turmoil was terrifying. Susanoo was constantly burned by the flames, but it also left many wounds on the Spirit of Fire.
Neither Yuichi nor Madara dodged. They didn't take a single step back. They simply stood there, controlling Susanoo and the Spirit of Fire to attack each other, meeting force with force.
However, as the battle progressed, everyone noticed the difference. These two fearsome titans were distinct.
Susanoo's raw power and attack strength seemed slightly weaker than the Spirit of Fire. However, it was extremely powerful in terms of recovery; even if both arms were burned away, they regenerated instantly.
The wounds on the Spirit of Fire recovered slowly, but its defense was incredibly robust. Susanoo's attacks could only leave shallow marks on it.
One side couldn't resist the flames but was resilient. The other side had amazing defense and terrifying offensive power, but slow recovery.
Despite the stalemate, both Yuichi and Madara refused to bow their heads, gritting their teeth in persistence. Everyone knew that although the two appeared uninjured, such a battle consumed a massive amount of energy. If this continued, it would be a contest of endurance.
The roar of the collision between the two huge phantoms became more and more intense. The entire structure of Enies Lobby was caught in the aftermath; more than half of it had been destroyed. Seeing the island being demolished, no one dared to intervene.
"You want to compete with me, Uchiha Madara?! Well, let's see who falls first!"
As he spoke, Madara suddenly erupted with even more astonishing Ocular Power. Susanoo's body began to grow. The full body—the Perfect Susanoo—finally appeared, complete with wings growing from its back.
Madara looked down at Yuichi condescendingly. "How is it? Can we continue now?"
Yuichi smiled. "Don't think it's just you!"
Suddenly, the Furyoku (Spirit Power) in Yuichi's body exploded, and the height of the tumbling Spirit of Fire rose to match. The Spirit of Fire: Over Soul fully manifested!
Standing on Enies Lobby were two huge monsters, tens of meters high. The originally massive island was now the size of a boxing ring for them.
"Hiss... It can become even bigger!"
Boom... Buzz...
The Perfect Spirit of Fire and the Perfect Susanoo wrestled with each other. Suddenly, a terrifying shock wave spread, sweeping out with astonishingly thick smoke. People relatively close to the area were instantly shrouded in dust.
