KISS'S POV
The hospital room hummed with soft machines and quiet whispers. Augustina cradled the tiny bundle in her arms, her exhausted but glowing smile lighting up the space. Isaac sat beside her, his hands never leaving hers, eyes red but shining with pride and awe.
I leaned closer, barely breathing, afraid to disturb the perfection of the moment. "She's beautiful, Gus. Absolutely perfect."
Augustina smiled weakly, her voice barely a whisper. "Thanks… she's… she's ours."
The doctor entered quietly, smiling. "She's healthy. Strong. And we need to decide on a name before discharge. Any thoughts?"
Isaac leaned forward, his fingers brushing his wife's hair back. "I… I want a name that means peace. Harmony. Because with her, everything feels… balanced. Like she's the calm in our storm."
Augustina's eyes sparkled through tears. "Harmony. I love it… it's perfect."
I placed my hand gently on Isaac's shoulder. "Harmony… that suits her. She carries everything good in the world already."
Isaac grinned softly, leaning in to kiss Augustina's forehead. "Harmony… our little peace. You know, Gus, she's going to grow up knowing love, knowing strength."
"She'll grow up knowing family," Augustina added, voice cracking with emotion. "And courage… just like you, Isaac."
The doctor nodded approvingly. "Harmony is a beautiful choice. It reflects hope, love, and balance. I'm glad you've chosen wisely."
I watched as Isaac whispered something to Augustina, making her laugh softly despite the exhaustion. I could see how deeply in love they were—the way he looked at her, protective, tender, reverent. It reminded me so much of Adrian… and how he looked at me.
Adrian's hand found mine, brushing his thumb along my knuckles. "Soon, that will be us," he murmured, voice low and husky. "You and me, Kiss… our own little family."
I smiled, heart tightening. "I can't wait."
He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to my temple. "And I'll make sure I never let anything touch it. Never let anyone hurt it—or you."
I sighed, resting my head against his chest. "I know… I feel it."
The nurse entered, breaking the moment gently. "We'll be discharging Augustina and the baby tomorrow. Make sure she rests tonight, and we'll go over feeding, care instructions, everything else."
Isaac glanced at Augustina, concern heavy in his gaze. "Are you ready?"
Augustina nodded, holding Harmony closer. "I'm ready… with you."
The family began filtering in, one by one—Adrian and I, Augustina's parents, Adrian's grandma, and even a few siblings. Laughter and soft chatter filled the room. Harmony stirred, tiny hands curling, eyes blinking open.
"Oh, look at her!" Adrian whispered to me. "She's… beautiful."
I nodded, smiling down at her tiny face. "Just like her mom."
Adrian chuckled, low and warm. "And stubborn. Just like her mom, too."
I laughed softly. "Don't encourage her."
Isaac caught sight of us. "You two are already bonding," he said, smiling. "Looks like the next generation will be just as… fearless."
Harmony yawned, her small mouth opening wide. Augustina laughed softly. "She takes after her father in the looks department, Isaac. But maybe a little of my stubbornness too."
He grinned, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "I don't mind at all."
Adrian leaned close to me, whispering. "You're going to be amazing with them when it's our turn."
I smiled, resting my hand on my stomach instinctively. "Soon," I whispered back.
The night passed with soft laughter, gentle teasing, and family chatter. We all knew the next day would bring Harmony home, and with her, a new chapter—new beginnings, new love, and a renewed sense of peace.
THE NEXT DAY
Morning sunlight poured into the hospital room. Harmony cooed softly in Augustina's arms, while Isaac adjusted her tiny blanket.
Adrian and I stood by the door, taking in the moment—quiet, serene, full of promise.
The doctor arrived to give final instructions. "Everything is looking perfect. Babies are healthy. You can take her home today."
Augustina smiled, exhausted but glowing. "We can't wait."
Isaac turned, a grin spreading across his face. "Ready, Gus?"
"More than ever," she whispered, cradling Harmony closer.
We gathered Harmony's things, making sure everything was packed. Adrian held my hand tightly, his eyes never leaving mine. "Our turn will be soon… I promise."
I nodded, heart full. "I know."
Finally, the car was packed, and we all made our way to Augustina and Isaac's home. The moment they stepped inside, they were met with a surprise. Balloons. Decorations.
Gifts. Family and friends smiling brightly. Laughter and music filled the room.
"Harmony!" Augustina gasped, tears forming. "You all… what is this?"
Isaac hugged her, laughing. "Looks like we're celebrating her arrival!"
I caught Adrian's eye, and he gave me a small, private smile. "See? Family.
Happiness. Everything else falls into place."
The family cheered as Harmony cooed, tiny hands reaching out. The room was filled with love, warmth, and the kind of laughter that made everything else fade away.
Adrian leaned close to me, whispering, "Someday, our little ones will have days like this… and I'll protect every single one of them."
I pressed my hand to his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. "I know… and we'll do it together."
We shared a smile, watching Augustina and Isaac hold their daughter, realizing that life, despite its chaos and danger, had a way of giving moments like these. Perfect. Precious. And fleeting.
Harmony was home. Peace had returned, at least for now. And we all knew—this was only the beginning.
