Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 Reconciliation

"Jor-El, look at you. Whether in the past or now, you always have that self-righteous and noble air about you."

"Listen, I'm not as despicable as you think. Earth will continue to exist, but Krypton will also be rebuilt, and in the future, the name New Krypton will only be more renowned."

Zod expressionlessly walked through Jor-El's projection and began inspecting the spaceship.

Hearing Zod's words, Jor-El froze in place.

Fiora stepped forward and said to him, "The General is no longer the same as he once was. I believe he will lead us to make Krypton great again."

"Zod, what is your plan to rebuild Krypton?"

While Zod was inspecting the Genesis Chamber on the spaceship, Jor-El's consciousness projection reappeared beside him, his words reverting to the tone they used when they were friends.

Hearing this, Zod didn't even lift his head: "Do you, who are now merely a fragment of consciousness, still care about the future of Krypton?"

"Zod, I've always believed that all our past disagreements were merely due to different philosophies, but there's no doubt that our ultimate goal was the same: to ensure Krypton's continuation. It's just that both you and I failed!"

"I know you've changed from before, and I'm long dead. Even Krypton, which caused our disagreements, has been destroyed."

"If you choose to rebuild Krypton, I think I might be able to offer some insignificant help."

Jor-El's tone carried a hint of nostalgia and was full of sincerity.

As he said, he and Zod had once taken completely different paths to save Krypton.

Zod chose to directly launch an armed military coup. In his opinion, this would cause many unnecessary sacrifices, and he had no chance of winning against the Elder Council, which truly held Krypton's power.

After all, the ultimate directive etched into the genes of most Kryptonian warriors was to protect Krypton, not to absolutely obey the commander's orders.

Therefore, Zod's coup was destined to fail.

As for himself, he wanted to change Krypton in a more peaceful way, starting with changing the next generation of Kryptonians. But unfortunately, the power structure of Krypton was already deeply entrenched at that time.

They would not allow the existing social structure to change, because that would shake the foundation of their rule.

So, he also failed, even more thoroughly than Zod.

And failure also made him clearly see Krypton's destined destruction.

It was precisely because of this that he chose to naturally conceive his offspring with his wife, a seed symbolizing freedom and hope.

Listening to Jor-El's words, Zod smiled inwardly.

To be honest, his purpose in saying so much to him also had this consideration in mind.

After all, he currently only had Leto, a non-warrior type scientist, and his abilities were not considered top-tier on the original Krypton.

Even if he used the Genesis Chamber to cultivate new advanced genetic scientists, it would still take a considerable amount of time.

Jor-El, however, was different. During his lifetime, he was one of the most outstanding scientists on Krypton.

Even if he was now only a fragment of consciousness, the knowledge he possessed and his unique way of thinking were not much different from when he was alive.

In fact, now that he had become an existence similar to an electronic life form, he might be even more adept in certain areas.

If he could get his help, it would indeed be a good boost for the current Zod.

"Then, welcome back, Jor!"

Zod extended his hand at this moment, showing his attitude.

"Thank you!"

Jor-El also extended his hand. Although they couldn't touch, both seemed to have returned to their old days.

"What exactly is your plan? If you're not rebuilding Krypton with Earth's help, have you found other more suitable planets?"

After officially reconciling, Jor-El immediately began to inquire about Zod's plan.

"No, I haven't chosen yet. However, if I wish, any planet will become the most suitable one."

Zod's words left Jor-El bewildered. He felt that his old friend had changed too much.

The old Zod was a straightforward person who never spoke in riddles.

But before he could ask, Zod opened his palm to him, and then a prismatic crystal emitting a faint green light appeared out of thin air.

"This is?"

Even without a body, his discerning eye was still there. Just by looking at it, Jor-El could feel the vibrant life emanating from this crystal.

"This is an energy crystal, something that can revive dead planets."

"An energy crystal?"

Jor-El searched all his memories, and even scanned all the knowledge of over a hundred thousand civilized planets in the spaceship's database, but found no clues about the energy crystal.

"Where did this thing come from? Why is there no record of it in Krypton's database?"

Hearing this, Zod smiled mysteriously: "You don't need to know that. You just need to understand that I have gathered all the basic conditions for rebuilding Krypton; I only lack a suitable opportunity!"

"What opportunity?"

"The opportunity when I have the confidence to face all challenges."

Zod knew very well in his heart that in the initial stage of New Krypton's establishment, it would inevitably be inseparable from the Solar System.

And many forces in the universe would probably not stand by and watch a more powerful Kryptonian civilization appear near Earth.

Therefore, before that, what Zod needed to do was to quickly improve his strength.

Now with the yellow sun as an inexhaustible energy source, his strength would usher in a terrifying period of explosive growth.

After reaching a certain bottleneck, he would then fuse the blood origin crystal, optimizing his own genes, and by then, he should be able to upgrade his advanced genes to super genes.

"It seems Fiora's statement was too one-sided. You haven't just changed a bit compared to before; it's more like you've become a different person. I feel like I'm not acquainted with you for over seventy years, but rather just met you."

Hearing Jor-El say this, Zod's expression remained unchanged.

He retorted directly: "Isn't change a good thing?"

"Perhaps!"

Suddenly, he remembered his son and quickly asked, "Where is Kal? How is he?"

"Leto is in the process of re-extracting the codex from his body. If you're worried, go and guide him yourself!"

After speaking, Zod gave Fiora a look.

She immediately understood, flashed to the control panel, pulled out the key, and then took him back to their original spaceship.
