Chapter 79 - Chapter 79 Mon-El's Miscalculation

After Supergirl conceded, Hope immediately released the gravity shackles on her.

He then returned directly to Zod's side without saying much.

"Father, I won!"

Zod gently patted his head and said, "Well done."

Hearing Zod's praise, his golden eyes brightened, and he obediently returned to his original position.

To be honest, even Zod himself was a little surprised; he seemed to have underestimated Hope's strength.

After all, in his opinion, Hope had not experienced any combat since his birth, and he had expected him to go through an adaptation period, but he hadn't anticipated such a result.

Judging from his ability to absorb any form of energy, if the attack intensity cannot reach the level required to destroy a mother box, then he is likely invincible.

Of course, this is only limited to attacks in the form of ordinary burst energy.

Because he is now a true mechanical life form with a soul fire within him, attacks targeting the soul by those with mystical powers are a fatal weakness for him.

The fact that he was affected when the two Martian Manhunters unleashed their psychic storms earlier is the best proof.

Zod couldn't help but think to himself, "It seems I will need to find a way to make up for this shortcoming for him in the future."

On the other side, Supergirl returned to the group with a look of dejection and guilt.

She said in a deeply disappointed tone, "I'm sorry I couldn't win the fight."

She had originally wanted to prove to Zod that she was by no means the so-called "shame of Krypton," but now it seemed to have inadvertently confirmed Zod's evaluation of her.

Superman immediately comforted her, "It's okay, it's not your fault. That guy's abilities are too strange; even I would find him difficult to deal with."

Mon-El also advised, "That's right, Kara, don't take it to heart. Clark and I are still here for the next battles."

Alex asked, "What kind of ability was that pillar of light that enveloped you, that it could suppress you to the point of not being able to fly?"

"It was gravity. He can control and greatly alter the gravity within a certain area. I felt as if every cell in my body was suddenly encased in heavy shackles."

Originally, the gravity on Earth was practically nonexistent for Kryptonians, so the sudden change in gravity made Supergirl feel very uncomfortable.

"His power is not limited to that; I learned from another version of myself that he can also resurrect the dead."

At this moment, Martian Manhunter said with a solemn expression.

"What? Resurrect the dead? Is such a thing really possible?"

"It's true. New Krypton once faced a crisis, and many warriors died. It was Hope who resurrected them."

Instantly, everyone fell silent, their eyes uniformly fixed on Hope.

On Earth, the female president, who had witnessed Supergirl's power, said in disbelief, "Supergirl was defeated so easily!"

She truly hadn't expected such a powerful miniature robot, which seemed so ordinary.

Leaders of other countries around the world, though not very familiar with Supergirl, were aware of Superman.

After all, he had been active in various parts of Earth for many years, and knowing that Supergirl and Superman were siblings, they understood that they possessed essentially the same abilities.

Yet, this time, she had little ability to fight back against that strange robot.

Meanwhile, the Daxamites, also watching the battle results, were both angry and helpless, as the outcome of the battle directly affected their future.

And Supergirl had lost the first round so decisively.

"Damn it, why isn't this a death match between these damned alien freaks? If it weren't for them, my son wouldn't have been sent to that damned prison."

At this time, another person was following the battle: Lillian Luthor, Lex Luthor's mother.

In her eyes, her son Lex was the smartest person in the world.

He should have become the most outstanding person in this world, but all of it was ruined by Superman, that freak from Krypton.

This led her to harbor intense hatred for all aliens.

If possible, she wished she could eliminate all aliens on Earth.

When she saw Hope's sword of divine power pointing at Supergirl, she desperately hoped it would strike, to eliminate Supergirl, that Kryptonian, first.

Unfortunately, nothing went as she wished.

Zod then looked at them and said, "We won the first round, so who among you will be the challenger for the second round?"

Mon-El flew into the arena without hesitation, then pointed at Fiora and said, "I want her to be my opponent."

Hearing this, Zod shook his head disdainfully and said, "You are not qualified to choose your opponent. Jonn, he's yours!"

After saying this, Zod added telepathically, "Don't end it too quickly; give the young man a little more Hope."

Martian Manhunter was slightly taken aback; he understood this meant he should go easy, but for some reason, he felt a hint of malice in Zod's words.

Nevertheless, he solemnly replied, "Don't worry, Mr. Zod."

Watching Martian Manhunter fly over, Mon-El's heart sank.

The green kryptonite he had been clenching tightly in his hand was directly crushed into powder, because kryptonite was useless against Martian Manhunter.

"No matter who it is, I must win, for the glory of Daxam."

As the soon-to-be new King of Daxam, he had to win this battle to make all Daxamites believe he could lead them to a new home and a new life.

"I am Jonn J'onzz, a survivor of Mars, now a member of New Krypton."

Before the battle officially began, Martian Manhunter still introduced himself, even though most people already knew who he was.

"I am Mon-El, heir to the throne of Daxam."

After exchanging introductions, the two wasted no more words and immediately entered a state of super-high-speed combat.

In an instant, apart from the superhumans present, the satellites of various countries in the sky could not even capture the figures of the two.

However, the scale of their battle was far grander than that of Hope and Supergirl's just now!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Terrifying sounds continuously came from the void, and visible energy impacts surged like a tide towards the spatial barrier.

But these energy fluctuations were instantly annihilated by the power of space!

Martian Manhunter kept Zod's words in mind, consistently controlling his strength to maintain a relatively evenly matched state with Mon-El.

Therefore, although the battle in the arena appeared extremely fierce, it was actually a result of Martian Manhunter's deliberate control.

Among those watching the battle, besides Zod and his group, only Superman and the other Martian Manhunter discerned the situation in the arena.

They couldn't help but shake their heads; the power gap was too immense!

And Mon-El, who was in the midst of the battle, did not realize this; he merely kept roaring inwardly, "Just a little more, if I were a little stronger, I could defeat him!"

His inner impatience and desire for victory made his eyes turn red, then he unleashed two brilliant blue heat visions, and Martian Manhunter retaliated with crimson heat vision.

At this moment, the red and blue heat visions collided furiously, then exploded like fireworks.

Seeing that the time was right, Zod telepathically told Martian Manhunter, "That's enough!"

Hearing this, Martian Manhunter immediately stopped holding back his strength, dodged Mon-El's attack by phasing, and then simply touched his forehead with a finger.

Instantly, Mon-El's eyes rolled back, he lost consciousness, and then fell from the sky.

Watching their prince defeated, the Daxamites were largely in despair.
