Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 - Lin Wuming's Shared Life

According to the agreed-upon plan, Lin Wuming moved into Yomikawa Aiho's apartment, temporarily becoming "part of the family."

Yomikawa Aiho's apartment was extremely clean and tidy, as she had a habit of relieving stress by organizing her room when she felt too pressured.

The series of related incidents triggered by Lin Wuming's fall had caused Yomikawa Aiho to accumulate considerable stress, which was reflected in the current clean and tidy state of the apartment.

"Your room is ready," Yomikawa Aiho said. "I even prepared a study room so you can study. You need to work hard for the entrance exam next month!"

"Thank you, but the exam shouldn't be a problem," Lin Wuming replied.

Yomikawa Aiho didn't doubt him. As Lin Wuming's current guardian, and being a teacher herself—albeit a physical education teacher—she naturally paid attention to Lin Wuming's academic performance.

Just as Lin Wuming claimed, passing the second-year junior high entrance exam posed no difficulty for him at all. In fact, Yomikawa Aiho had already realized that junior high-level courses—unless they were at the level of Tokiwadai Middle School—held no challenge for Lin Wuming.

If his age were ignored, letting him skip grades directly to high school wouldn't be an issue.

However, considering Lin Wuming's Level 3 Esper status, showing this level of academic ability was not surprising.

Academy City's superpower system inherently focuses on brain computational power. Here, smart people aren't necessarily High-Level Espers, but High-Level Espers are definitely not fools.

Just like the girls at Tokiwadai Middle School, although they are still just junior high girls, the courses they study have already reached a university level of difficulty.

One of the admission standards for Tokiwadai Middle School is being a Level 3 Esper or higher. Lin Wuming fit exactly on this qualifying line, so by comparison, he should also be able to handle university courses directly.

However, Yomikawa Aiho was merely a P.E. teacher, and she didn't obsess over academic results like other teachers, so she didn't oppose Lin Wuming's "lie flat" strategy.

Besides, Lin Wuming's injuries hadn't fully healed, so keeping the school curriculum light was probably better.

As for Lin Wuming, he was even more satisfied with his guardian.

In his eyes, Yomikawa Aiho, who didn't interfere with his "lying flat" leisure, was the most ideal guardian!

Transmigration aside, the greatest significance of returning to his youth for Lin Wuming was having a vast stretch of time he could freely spend.

In his "previous life," like most ordinary people, Lin Wuming was constantly competing from school right up until he graduated and started working in a company, never stopping the grind. He had neither the time nor the leisure to enjoy life. Whenever he looked back, he inevitably felt regret.

Now, things were great! The regrets of his childhood could finally be remedied in his "childhood"!

—Forget novels, anime, and game consoles. He had money and time now. He would pay off all his childhood debts in one go!

Moreover, the social atmosphere here didn't reject these things.

Even Yomikawa Aiho herself had bought a large pile of comics and game consoles. She, however, had become the one with the "childhood debt." She had no time to read the comics, and the game console hadn't been turned on even once, left to gather dust in an empty room.

Upon learning of Lin Wuming's wish, Yomikawa Aiho immediately offered up her entire collection, allowing Lin Wuming to play as much as he liked.

Lin Wuming's arms still hadn't fully recovered, but he could use his psychic ability to manipulate the controller. Because of this, he completely eliminated the risk of being "clumsy-handed." No matter the game, as long as he understood the controls and his mental reaction time was sufficient, he could beat it.

Thus, Lin Wuming found playing games immensely satisfying and smooth—if his injuries healed and he played games "with his own hands," he probably couldn't achieve this level of performance!

Similarly, not just for gaming but for other things in life, Lin Wuming no longer faced the problem of "the brain understands, but the hands don't."

His psychic ability was worthy of being called a "universal ability." No matter the task, as long as Lin Wuming's brain understood the execution steps, he could perfectly replicate them.

Therefore, Lin Wuming took over all the household chores.

Yomikawa Aiho didn't stop him. She saw that Lin Wuming didn't struggle with housework, that his efficiency was high, and that it also helped train his superpower. For her, a busy professional, having someone help manage her daily life was quite good—the only downside was that she couldn't relieve stress by organizing her room when she felt overly pressured anymore.

But she could vent her stress by playing games!

Yomikawa Aiho not only didn't stop Lin Wuming from indulging in games but enthusiastically joined in herself. She even found playing games with Lin Wuming very enjoyable!

Previously, although Yomikawa Aiho had bought a game console and a pile of games, she had never personally turned it on to play a single session.

Due to her busy work schedule and living alone, she simply couldn't muster the interest to play. She only habitually bought every new release—for her, buying it was the same as having played it.

Now, with Lin Wuming in the house, Yomikawa Aiho officially entered the world of electronic games under the guise of playing with him. Combined with Lin Wuming's high skill level and his knack for accompanying others during gameplay, Yomikawa Aiho became totally immersed, showing signs of neglecting food and sleep.

Thus, Lin Wuming, conversely, became the caregiver. Besides daily chores, he also took charge of all three meals—with the aid of his psychic ability, his "cooking" skill was freed from the limitations of his "hands," allowing him to perfectly replicate dishes from recipes and tutorials.

Yomikawa Aiho's own cooking skills weren't bad, but she specialized in the strange "rice cooker method," conquering the culinary world with a few rice cookers. The flavor was surprisingly good.

However, Lin Wuming always felt something was off without authentic stir-fry, so he simply took over the kitchen.

Now, all Yomikawa Aiho had to do was the procurement work: buying groceries and the cooking utensils and seasonings Lin Wuming needed.

At first, she felt a little guilty, but she quickly realized the convenience and usefulness of Lin Wuming and his psychic ability, and promptly "fell into depravity."

As for Lin Wuming, he was living in Yomikawa Aiho's home and didn't even have to pay rent. He wasn't so shameless as to take all this for granted, so he volunteered to do the housework, considering it a form of "equivalent exchange."
