Sophia's mind was reeling as she stared at James, her eyes searching for any sign of deception. She couldn't shake the feeling that he was hiding something, that there was more to his story than he was letting on.
"I'm doing this for the kingdom," James repeated, his voice steady. "I want to see justice served."
But Sophia wasn't convinced. She knew that there was more to James's story, and she was determined to uncover the truth.
"I don't believe you," she said, her voice firm. "There's something you're not telling us, James. What is it?"
James's expression didn't change, but Sophia saw a flicker of hesitation in his eyes. He glanced at Prince Henry, then back at Sophia.
"I'm not sure this is the right time," he said, his voice low.
Prince Henry stepped forward, his eyes narrowed. "Tell us, James," he said, his voice commanding. "We need to know the truth."
James took a deep breath, his shoulders sagging slightly. "Alright," he said, his voice resigned. "But you have to understand, this is difficult for me to say."
Sophia's eyes were fixed on James, her heart pounding in her chest. What was he going to reveal?
"The Queen," James began, his voice shaking slightly. "She's not who you think she is, Your Highness."
Prince Henry frowned, confused. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice sharp.
James took another deep breath, his eyes locked on Prince Henry's. "The Queen is your mother, but she's not your biological mother, Your Highness. You're adopted."
The room fell silent, the only sound the echo of James's words.
Sophia's eyes widened in shock. Adopted? She couldn't believe it. Prince Henry's whole life had been a lie?
Prince Henry's face was white, his eyes stunned. "What are you talking about?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
James's expression was sympathetic. "I'm telling you the truth, Your Highness. The Queen and the King, they couldn't have children, so they adopted you. But the Queen, she was never meant to be Queen. She was a usurper, a power-hungry woman who would stop at nothing to get what she wanted."
Sophia's mind was reeling. This was too much to take in. Prince Henry's whole life had been a lie, and the Queen was not who they thought she was.
Prince Henry's eyes were filled with pain and confusion. "Who am I?" he asked, his voice cracking. "Who are my real parents?"
James's expression was somber. "I don't know, Your Highness. But I do know that the Queen will do everything in her power to keep the truth hidden. You're in danger, and we have to get you out of here, now."
