Chapter 378 - Chapter 378 The Chosen One

Homelander stood up and stretched.

Watching Skynet prepare to turn and leave to handle other matters, he suddenly called out to stop her.

"Wait a moment, Skynet."

"How about... you stay for a glass of milk before leaving?"

Homelander gave a wicked smile, his gaze sweeping up and down over Skynet.

"To be honest, that Mary persona you had earlier... was quite good."

Upon hearing Homelander's compliment, Skynet's eyes became increasingly intense.

She gave a charming smile and once again transformed into the appearance of Mary, the cool-tempered, intellectual, and elegant female scientist.

"As you say, sir. Scientific research is very hard work..." Skynet said, licking her lips.

"Mary does indeed need some milk to replenish her nutrients..."

Two hours later.

Skynet had already left, and the bedroom was filled with the faint scent of photinia flowers.

"This woman is indeed capable."

Homelander lay on the bed, shirtless, feeling refreshed.

Those two rounds just now were only a warm-up; the next two rounds were what he had been looking forward to for a long time.

"System, check my account balance."

Notification! Current special popularity value balance: 416,005.

Looking at this long string of numbers, Homelander raised his eyebrows in satisfaction.

"Back up to 400,000... It seems that whether it's a devoted boyfriend or a tragic hero, the returns are quite substantial."

Homelander sighed with satisfaction.

"Well then, the next step is the harvest season."

"System, give me a double draw from the superhero blind box."

Command confirmed, deducting 200,000 points of special popularity value.

Blind box drawing in progress...

The system's CG animation flashed through his mind, with two vortexes spinning rapidly.

One appeared a deep, dark black, as if it could swallow even light; the other was an interweaving of colorful, brilliant hues.

The black vortex stopped first.

The light faded, and then a piece of fabric, smooth as flowing water and featuring strange brown patterns, slowly drifted down from mid-air into Homelander's palm.

"Congratulations to the host! You have obtained a special item: Invisibility Cloak!"

"Item Origin: One of the three Deathly Hallows. Rumored to be a corner torn by the God of Death himself from his own cloak."

"Equipment Trait One: Shadow Concealment. Upon wearing it, the host will completely conceal their figure, scent, thermal radiation, heartbeat, and all other physical characteristics."

"Equipment Trait Two: magic Aversion. Immune to magic and mystical detection; you will not be marked, nor will your concealment be dispelled by any magic or curse."

"Equipment Trait Three: God of Death's Protection. When wearing this cloak, the host will gain extremely high resistance to death-related powers."

"Equipment Trait Four: Indestructible."

Invisibility—this ability sounds quite ordinary.

In this Marvel Universe where demons dance, there are at least eighty or a hundred superheroes and mutants who can turn invisible.

Even the old relics at S.H.I.E.L.D. have optical camouflage technology.

But this is not the run-of-the-mill technological optical invisibility or genetic mutation found in this World.

This is a Deathly Hallow.

Its greatest strength lies not in invisibility, but in its ability to block detection; this thing is simply an artifact for sneaking into bases.

But compared to the stealth function, Homelander was more focused on the "God of Death's Protection" equipment trait.

Death... this term refers to one of the ceilings of Marvel, a T0-level existence.

Homelander was well aware of his current strength; if he were to truly encounter a manifested deity of that level, the God of Death, he might not even have a chance to resist.

Although he didn't think that cold woman would be bored enough to come and cause him trouble, this kind of attribute involving rule-based attacks is always the most precious.

Just as Homelander was preparing to put the cloak into his magic pocket, the system's notification sound rang out again.

"Notification! Material of this item detected; it can be fused with the material of the host's system uniform."

"Fusion requires deducting 10,000 special popularity value."

"Do you wish to fuse?"

"Fuse." Homelander chose yes without hesitation.

Of course he would fuse it; otherwise, every time he wanted to use it, he would have to pull out a piece of cloth and drape it over himself, which was neither cool nor practical.

"Command confirmed. Deducting 5,000 points of special popularity value. Fusion beginning..."

The next moment, the cloak turned into a streak of black light and merged into Homelander's chest.

Homelander moved his mind.

"Activate concealment."

In an instant, his figure standing in front of the full-length mirror disappeared directly from the mirror.

It wasn't just a visual disappearance; even the heat radiating from his body, his power radiation, and so on, were completely masked at this moment.

Even he himself, with his super hearing, could not hear the sound of his own heartbeat.

Homelander satisfiedly deactivated the invisibility state, and his figure reappeared in the mirror.

Then, he cast his gaze toward the other colorful vortex that was still spinning.

With a thought, the vortex shattered with a boom, turning into stars filling the sky.

A card emitting a ghostly green light drifted slowly down before Homelander's eyes.

On the front of the card, a young man wearing a black hooded cloak was depicted.

He had short blond hair, a resolute face, and was holding a long sword emitting a green light in both hands.

The background was the vast, boundless Universe and a gigantic Death Star.

"Congratulations to the host! You have obtained a special character summoning card: Luke Skywalker."

"Character Introduction: The Chosen One of the Light Side of the Force, the most powerful Jedi Knight in the Milky Way Galaxy."

"Core Ability One: Force Mastery. Can freely manipulate the Force to perform telekinesis, Force Push, Force Choke, Force Precognition, Force Levitation, Force Lightning, Force Healing, Force Sight, Force Mind Control, etc. Can sense energy fluctuations of life forms in the Universe."

"Core Ability Two: Jedi Swordsmanship. Proficient in all seven forms of lightsaber combat, with the fifth form (Djem So/Shien) and seventh form (Juyo/Vaapad) being the most skillfully applied; his swordsmanship attainment is at its peak."

"Equipment: Skywalker's Lightsaber. Personally crafted by Luke, it can cut through most materials and reflect some energy weapons."

"Summoning Restrictions: Duration of 2 hours per summon, with a 24-hour cooldown. Once the character is manifested, they will unconditionally execute all of the host's orders. They will maintain absolute loyalty to the host."

Looking at the information introduced by the system, Homelander's mouth opened into an "O" shape.

"What the f*ck..."

Luke Skywalker?!

Is it that Star Wars cheat character who redeemed Darth Vader and rebuilt the Jedi Order?!

"Ha! This is getting interesting."

Homelander held the card, the corners of his mouth curling upward.

"Summon Luke Skywalker."

With a peculiar sound effect, a Star Gate tore open in the void, revealing an unknown space emitting white mist.

A figure cloaked in a wide, black hooded cape stepped out from the white mist.

After standing still, he pulled back his hood, revealing a handsome face with clear, deep eyes that exuded a calmness and wisdom beyond his years.

Even though he was just standing there quietly, his whole being radiated the aura of a master that made people willingly submit.
