Chapter 16 - 16

Sometime later...

It was one thing for her to cheat on him and for them to separate, but it turned out that she saw him ask her to come back.

He was having real financial problems; his stock price plummeted due to an exodus of investors from a rival company.

This put pressure on him, but he couldn't pay the investors, nor his own bills.

He made an appointment with his wife.

"Let's go back," he requested.

Tsuki and Shizuko started buying Lanny Horowitz's shares, causing his stock price to fall.

Given that he was in debt and had experienced some financial difficulties, they kept their investments and businesses separate from hers.

- What he said was that she was using the excuse of simply staying by his side, but unlike him, she was jealous for no reason. This woman was his new business partner, the one he traveled with, the one he always went out with for business, which made his wife jealous and insecure.

Her name was Valeria Horowitz, a wealthy businesswoman and socialite who, after a long history of partnership with her husband, was recently accused of murdering him.

The couple had an arsenal at home, ranging from pistols to assault rifles.

It was on one of those days that something happened.

Her husband was found dead; it was a luxury condominium complex for wealthy businesspeople, so when the police were called to investigate, after a complaint was filed, it was the condominium's doctor who called them.

As for Hadley and his wife Valeria, they were taken to the police station because both their son, Lanny, who had been tested for gunpowder residue, died, and her 66-year-old husband, who was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, were found murdered on the floor of their own bathroom. His ex-wife and son were the focus of the investigation.

The detectives began by investigating the condominium doctor, who responded to the call.

It seemed that Morris had received a calling.

"You know, I don't know how this happened," the doctor said.

They were also questioning the son.

"What happened?" the detective asked.

My mother is screaming, I heard she wouldn't stop moving.

The detective questioned him. – Does your father own guns?

"I think so," the boy said.

What happened to find him like this? – A detective asked him.

When we went to the kitchen, looking into the bedroom, she seemed hysterically out of control.

"I think he's dead," he said, leaving everyone there as confused as they all were.

"His calmness is unusual," a police officer said.

When they called the company, they said that when they asked...

"Does he have a will?" a detective asked.

Then, the detectives had the revelation.

The detectives accessed the data, where they saw that yes, there were insurance policies, and it was with the company Delphos, which was responsible for the insurance. – One of them said.

Let's speak with someone from the Delphos company.

Continuing their drive towards the Delphos tower, they were greeted by an attendant in the building's lobby.

"Can I help you?" she asked.

"We came to talk about Horowitz's insurance," he said.

- Yes, wait. – She typed and spoke towards the phone.

"You can go up," she said.

At that time, speaking directly with Tsuki in his office.

"They killed themselves so quickly," Tsuki said, looking through reports and documents and accessing her computer.

The police officers arrived at his room; one was a bald man and the other was shorter, with red hair, wearing cheap suits and worn shoes.

In the midst of all this, they went to investigate what was happening... Tsuki's insurance company called him, and as a consultant, he was asked to sign the document to release the insurance money, and he became involved in the investigation.

"Yes, he has multiple life insurance policies, with his son as the beneficiary, half a million dollars, cars and houses, the sole beneficiary was his son," Tsuki said.

So, this put him in the crosshairs of the investigation as a suspect, since the only ones who were in the house were the three of them: father, ex-wife, and son.

"Since I'm the one who decides if the money is released, I'll go with you," Tsuki said.

So, they returned to the police station, accompanied by Tsuki.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that he had lost his license due to alcohol abuse, so the son was visited by his father 6 years ago.

Next, they went to speak with the son, who had been called in that afternoon for questioning.

"I have an insurance policy, but there's a clause, too, I know he put more than one policy in his partner's name," he said.

"I transferred $200,000 to my girlfriend without her knowledge; I only found out after I got out of prison," he said.

The woman in question was also called; she was a fiery redhead with a slender, burning body.

Contrary to what her son says, they didn't have a romantic relationship, so they dumped her.

- It depends on the situation; it depends on who else gives him money.

"He sold weapons because he was paranoid; in any case, none of them committed the crime because they had weapons at home," the woman in question said.

He had a lot to gain from his father Larry's death, but he had no incriminating evidence.

Because she was about to testify about what happened that night, the focus was about to shift from a 45-year love affair.

So, speaking with the judge and the prosecutor, they obtained a warrant to search the house, which they turned upside down at that moment, finding numerous pieces of evidence.

The focus was on his ex-wife; the police were lucky when they found her ex-husband's diary, which revealed she was keeping a close eye on their relationship.

He keeps provoking me, playing games with me, September 4, 2022, trying to pretend he didn't spend the day with Francine, the end of their 45-year relationship, her refusal to take a gunpowder residue test and give a guilty and indicted statement for intentional homicide.

Valeria was being arrested; she killed her husband. At the 2013 trial, the lawyers tried to incriminate her son, but without success. The defense argued that the trajectory of the bullets suggested a taller shooter.

It was impossible, but prosecutors said the evidence and the packed suitcases in the police video.

So, on the day of the murder, Larry was preparing a trip to another state with Francine, and that was the last straw for Dona.

After emptying her own gun, she takes Larry's gun and leaves him on the ground to die.

What we have here is a wounded woman, love, hate, and obsession. You're not going anywhere if you're not mine; you won't be anyone else's.

About that.

"Hey, how are you?" Tsuki asked, turning to the now orphaned man.

Shizuko was by his side, plotting against the man.

Not good at all, I lost my mother and my father.

Managing to buy the company's shares from both of them when they went to auction, only leaving their son drunk when it came time to sign documents, as happened when they went to talk to him after leaving the courthouse.

All of this was because Tsuki was issuing orders and donating funds so that his company could be involved in maintaining the city's security, in which he was involved in a scheme with the justice system to manage and control the city's security service.

As if that weren't enough, he was being approached by a mediator and representative of Um-Mu and the dark dimension of Akropolis, who were interested in them being able to engage in a relationship with their master.

At that time, saying goodbye to Shizuko, who went towards her own company.

"I'm going to invest in streaming," she said, leaving.

Then, being led and guided to Luther's building.

"These are strange ruins, discovered in a building belonging to one of my laboratories," he said, leading him toward the underground level.

At that point, he secured the support of another businessman who had an interest in managing security, turning it into a private operation under the control of the company Delphos.

A supporter who had an interest in maintaining control of his own city.

"The support is mutual, Tsuki," Alexander said.

"I intend to show it to others," Luther said.

Luther said with interest, "It's going to be a great tourist attraction, a historical mystery."

"Let's get down to business. You help me with the consortium and the company auctions so I can be in charge of construction and maintenance when the government consortia come in for highway maintenance. I'll support you in maintaining security, against Chapek," Luther said.

"I have everything for you," Luther said.

"Why me?" Tsuki Miki asked.

- It looks like something, like something you've seen before. – Luther said.

"I intended to choose you as my partner; I'd like to know what you discovered in some caves," Luther said.

"Money from tourism is always welcome in the city's regions," Luther said.

Next, they climbed back up the path, and as they walked through a narrow corridor, in the center of which was a circular stone staircase, and in the middle a long hole, through which he saw a side entrance to corridors, and what appeared to be stalactites and stalagmites.

To his right, there was an immense image; it was that of a dragon, or a bat...

Inscriptions carved everywhere, drawings made in rock and stones, like a monument, there was a large dragon with scaly wings, and several other sculptures depicting a battle of monsters on a rock.

What was at its center was a man, and around him were various monsters, and the human image resembled...

"With you..." Luther said.

Showing a transformation into sculpted stone, the various forms of monsters surround it.

"They worship a dragon," said Tsuki Miki.

A man transforming into a dragon, and black smoke emanating from the center of the dark black hole, resembling an abyss.

"Well," said Tsuki Miki. "Familiar."
