Chapter 267 - Hypothesis: No Longer Lonely

Kaydan's eyes widened. His shock escalated, striking his sanity like a massive wave. He truly never imagined that the youth he would one day marry, who was currently panting in front of him, was an immortal human.

His heart raced. That absolute reality almost left him speechless.

"Are... are you and your other spouses also immortal humans?" Kaydan asked in shock, his voice trembling slightly as he wanted to confirm the truth he had just heard.

"Yes, you are right, Kaydan." Arvin answered honestly, looking straight into Kaydan's light green eyes.

With his breath still slightly ragged following the soul seal ritual, Arvin looked at his tenth spouse's face with an incredibly gentle gaze.

"So," he said softly, "are you willing to live with me and remain by my side in eternity forever, Kaydan?"

Hearing that question, Kaydan let out a long sigh, as if discarding the remnants of his shock. A sincere, faint smile began to bloom on his lips.

"It is far too late for you to ask that, after you turned me into an immortal human." Kaydan replied with a tone of resignation mixed with warmth.

The brown-skinned youth slowly stood up from his position. He stepped closer, then reached out both hands to gently touch and caress the side of his husband's face.

"But I am absolutely willing, My Light." Kaydan whispered with certainty, gazing into his husband's eyes with deep longing. "Forevermore, I will always be by your side."

Arvin smiled in relief after hearing such a firm answer from his spouse. His feelings became much calmer.

However, right after the emotional tension subsided, Arvin's mind suddenly recalled a string of writings he had once read from an ancient tome in the past. He suddenly wanted to prove a crazy hypothesis that had been settling in his mind based on the records of that discovery.

Without overthinking it, Arvin concentrated his mana. He took out a bottle of healing potion and a bottle of mana recovery potion from his dimensional storage space.

Kaydan gaped at what his husband was currently doing by taking out the two bottles of potion and merely watched in silence.

He opened both glass bottle caps quickly. However, instead of drinking them one by one, Arvin immediately downed the contents of both potion bottles simultaneously in a single gulp.

Thump!

Within mere seconds, the effect immediately slammed into his body. Arvin's heart beat violently, feeling as though it would explode within his chest cavity. An extraordinary burning sensation suddenly spread through all his veins, triggering an increasingly uncontrollable heartbeat and causing his entire body to tremble violently.

Is this what it feels like to drink that Elixir of Archmage? Arvin thought, wincing, as his hand immediately clutched his rumbling left chest. It turns out my hypothesis is correct. Drinking a healing potion and a mana recovery potion simultaneously inside the body will create a reaction that transforms them into an Elixir of Archmage.

Kaydan, who was still standing nearby, was instantly thrown into sheer panic upon seeing his husband suddenly clutch his chest with a violently trembling body and a face enduring pain.

"My Light, why are you suddenly trembling while clutching your chest like this? Are you alright?" Kaydan whispered in deep worry, immediately moving to support Arvin's body with both his arms so his husband would not fall to the floor.

"I... I must return immediately. I do not want to lose consciousness in this place." Arvin answered with a strained voice, trying with all his might to maintain his consciousness, which was beginning to sway from the extreme reaction inside his body.

Arvin looked at Kaydan with his remaining focus. "Could you step back a little from me, Kaydan?"

Hearing that urgent request, Kaydan was forced to release his hold on his husband's body, even though his expression still radiated immense worry. He stepped back slowly.

Once Kaydan had given enough distance, Arvin quickly forced his body to step back two paces, ensuring that the boundary area of his teleportation magic circle would not drag and bring his spouse along to the shelter house.

Arvin concentrated the remnants of his mana.

A magic circle with a golden luminescence appeared and spun brightly beneath his feet, illuminating the dim room.

Amidst the pain afflicting his body, Arvin forced himself to look at his spouse's face with a gentle gaze.

"I promise I will come get you as soon as possible. Wait for me here, my beloved Spouse." Arvin said in a quiet yet soothing voice, followed by a sincere smile etched on his pale face.

Kaydan nodded slowly, his eyes looking at his husband full of hope. "I will always await your arrival here, My Light."

Arvin nodded in understanding while continuing to show his smile, before he finally closed his eyes.

Zap!

In the blink of an eye, Arvin's body vanished from Kaydan's sight.

All that remained now was a bedchamber that returned to being silent and empty, just as it was before Arvin had sneaked into the place.

Kaydan stood in silence, staring at the empty spot on the floor where his husband had last stood. Slowly, his worry faded and was replaced by a new understanding. His mind could finally piece together the puzzle regarding Arvin's strange behavior while inside the treasury room earlier.

Hahaha. No wonder he calmly dropped his intention to take all the treasure from that room earlier. Kaydan thought, a small chuckle escaping his lips as he felt amazed. My husband can freely re-enter that treasury room to his heart's content whenever he wants by using his teleportation magic. He truly is an incredible man!

The gray-haired youth turned around, walked slowly toward the bed, and immediately laid himself down on the bed.

Kaydan crossed his hands over his chest, hugging his own body tightly, and then closed his eyes. He imagined that he was currently hugging Arvin's body tightly. Thanks to the newly formed soul bond, he no longer felt lonely living inside the palace.

I will patiently wait for you inside this room, My Light. Kaydan thought with overwhelming gratitude. Thank you so much for freeing me from this hell of slavery and for choosing me as your spouse. You truly are my brilliantly shining source of light in the darkness of my life.
