Chapter 351 - Northern Forest Exploration: Arion’s Resolve For Their Family

"Alrain!"

That sudden call spontaneously halted Alrain's steps. He turned his head back, looking at the reddish-yellow-haired youth who had called him.

"What's up, Arion?" Alrain asked in a calm and patient tone, giving his family member space to speak.

"If the east truly is the main nest of these monsters..." Arion paused his sentence for a moment, pointing at the giant wasp carcasses scattered around them. "...could you pick up and bring all the monster bodies you kill later?"

Hearing such a slightly troublesome request amidst a critical situation, Alrain did not show the slightest expression of objection. The green-haired youth already knew very well that Arion possessed extraordinary talent in the field of alchemy.

It all began when their beloved husband explicitly handed a magic book about alchemy specifically to Arion in the dining room.

For Alrain, anything supported by his husband was something he had to support as well. He had absolutely no desire to question the purpose behind Arion's request.

"Alright, I'll gather all of them for you." Alrain answered without the slightest hesitation. "Wait for me here with Davin and the seven adventurers. Don't go anywhere!"

"Okay!" Arion replied, his facial expression turning highly enthusiastic, his eyes sparkling with joy. "Thank you very much, Alrain!"

Alrain merely gave a slow nod while offering a faint smile. As a fellow spouse of Arvin Vedegra, he always fully supported the desires and the development of the ninth spouse's abilities.

Deeming there were no more messages Arion or Davin wished to convey, Alrain's facial expression turned serious once more. He focused his gaze toward the depths of the eastern forest.

Zoom!

In the blink of an eye, Alrain's body instantly darted through the dense trees toward the depths of the forest, heading to the place where those numerous suspicious movements had been detected.

Arion, Davin, and the seven adventurers could only stand transfixed, staring toward the east. The strong gust of wind left in the wake of Alrain's departure still swept across their faces, leaving behind dust and dry leaves fluttering in the air.

Following the green-haired youth's departure, Arion wasted no time. He immediately took a step, walking casually toward the pile of Giant Wasp carcasses that had just been slashed by Alrain.

Seeing that movement, Davin naturally did not stay idle. As the person assigned to guard the safety of his family member, he immediately followed Arion's footsteps from behind, his eyes remaining alert as he observed the surroundings.

"What are you trying to do, Arion?" Davin asked in a bewildered tone. "Why are you walking closer to those monster carcasses?"

"I want to take all of these monster bodies." Arion answered casually as he prepared to pick up the monster carcasses.

However, before Arion's fingers could touch the surface of one of the monsters' bodies, a loud and panicked shout shattered the silence.

"Wait! It's better if you never touch their blood!" Bren suddenly exclaimed, jogging over with a pale face, trying to stop the youth's reckless action. "If you directly touch their blood fluid, you will rot to death instantly! The blood of all those Giant Wasp monsters is filled with a venomous fluid that is highly lethal to human skin!"

Hearing such a loud warning shout from one of the adventurers, Arion's hand, which was already hovering in the air, abruptly stopped. He turned his head toward the thick, yellowish-green blood pooling on the ground.

However, his hesitation lasted for only a single second as he remembered his husband's words about the efficacy of the Elixir of Immortality he had once drunk, which made his body immune to any kind of poison in this world.

Instead of backing away, the reddish-yellow-haired youth turned to Bren. He offered a friendly smile to the adventurer who had kindly tried to keep him out of danger.

"I deeply appreciate your concern, Mr. Adventurer." Arion said in an exceptionally calm tone.

And right after uttering that sentence, Arion's right hand casually and without the slightest hesitation directly touched the venomous puddle of blood from one of the Giant Wasps. His fingers even rubbed the deadly, thick fluid.

At that very instant, Bren, Dennis, and the other five adventurers immediately widened their eyes until they nearly popped out of their sockets. Their breath hitched upon witnessing the suicidal scene unfolding right before their eyes.

"What are you doing?!" Dennis yelled in shock with a very loud voice. "Directly holding a monster's body covered in deadly blood with your bare hands? Are you tired of living and want to die?!"

Upon hearing the burly man's yell, Davin, who stood behind Arion, was spontaneously taken aback as well. He was truly shocked and his heart pounded fast, feeling extremely worried about the safety of his family member. He nearly pulled Arion's hand back.

However, before the panic could spread any further, Arion raised his right hand, which was now smeared with yellowish-green blood. There were no signs that he was experiencing any poisoning.

"It's fine." Arion replied, still with the same calmness and a smile that had not faded from his face. "I'm immune to any lethal poison that exists in this world."

Hearing such a completely nonsensical answer, the seven adventurers could only gape in disbelief. Their jaws felt as if they had dropped to the ground. Never had it crossed their minds even for a second that the charming yet cute reddish-yellow-haired youth currently standing in front of them was a human possessing absolute immunity to lethal poisons.

Especially when they saw with their very own eyes that the youth remained completely fine as the Giant Wasp's deadly venom continued to cling to the skin of his right hand.

Just what exactly are these three? They are truly monsters in human form! Bren screamed inwardly in horror, his common sense unable to process the series of illogical powers displayed by the three youths. And what is even crazier... all these human-shaped monsters are absolutely obedient to a man named Arvin Vedegra? Just how strong and terrifying is that person for these monsters to willingly bow to him?

On the other hand, Davin finally let out a long sigh full of relief when he saw Arion showing absolutely no symptoms of poisoning and remaining in perfectly fine condition. His worries evaporated instantly.

He finally believed that the Elixir of Immortality given by their husband indeed possessed the absolute efficacy to make a person's body immune to even god-tier poisons.

Arion turned his head back to the still-frozen adventurers.

"Is it alright if I take all of these monster carcasses for myself?" he asked politely, requesting permission to claim the spoils in front of the adventurers.

"I-It's no problem at all!" Dennis answered with a trembling voice, still feeling horrified by the youth's power. "That's purely the right of the three of you since it was your comrade who killed them. Besides, we also would not be able to directly touch or move those venomous monster bodies the way you just did."

After receiving the confirmation and approval from the burly man, Arion immediately and without any further hesitation began storing all the Giant Wasp carcasses lying on the ground, one by one, into his magic bag.

While collecting all the monster bodies, Arion thought of something regarding his abilities, which were solely limited to production.

I indeed cannot fight like Alrain, don't possess spatial manipulation magic like Davin, and am not as strong as the other spouses. Arion thought inwardly, unconsciously comparing himself to all his family members. But... it doesn't mean I cannot be useful to the family that has given me this protection and warmth!

His hand clenched tightly atop one of the hard shells of the Giant Wasps. His gaze turned incredibly sharp, filled with an unshakable resolve.

With my alchemy magic abilities, I will create various kinds of the most lethal venomous weapons to protect my husband and my family from any threat! he said, encouraging himself, full of conviction deeply rooted in his heart. If I cannot fight on the front lines, I will protect them all from the back lines in my own way!

The youth looked up at the dense foliage serving as the forest's natural canopy, imagining the face of the figure who had changed the course of his life.

My Star... I will definitely work hard to become a spouse who will never bring shame to your great name! For the sake of protecting you and your family, and also for our own family, I swear I will become the greatest alchemist in this world!

One by one, he finished storing all the monster carcasses into his magic bag. Arion stood up. His feelings were now overflowing. He was incredibly impatient to go home and train diligently to become a great alchemist just as his husband had once stated and believed.

Although Arion knew absolutely nothing about the storyline from the era of his previous life, nor what Arvin actually knew about him in that era, the youth still harbored one pure resolve: to become the greatest alchemist for the sake of his husband.

And the actual truth was, in the original storyline, Arion was one of the romantic targets who was highly genius and an expert in the field of alchemy magic, especially when it came to creating weapons of mass destruction.
