Chapter 20: Naden Rich
A tall young man, about two meters in height, pale-skinned and dressed in a formal suit, strode into view with several subordinates trailing behind him.
"This dinosaur's not bad—looks fierce enough. It'll make a fine mount," Naden Rich said with a faint, satisfied smile.
"Boss, we'll grab it right now," one of his lackeys said eagerly, fawning over him.
"Mhm, go ahead."
Several of the lackeys drew their pistols from their belts and began walking toward the Mosasaur.
"Whose dinosaur is this? Step forward!"
Bang… bang…
The Mosasaur slowly turned its massive head toward them, glaring down from above. Two streams of hot air puffed from its dark nostrils.
One of the lackeys flinched and stumbled backward a few steps.
The others stared at him, and his face flushed red from embarrassment and anger.
"How dare you scare me!" he shouted furiously, raising his gun and aiming it straight at the Mosasaur's head.
Bang!!
A gunshot rang out.
Everyone nearby froze, eyes wide in shock.
Clang—
A spark flashed by the creature's enormous jaws—the bullet had ricocheted harmlessly away.
The lackey stood there stunned, unable to believe what he'd just seen.
"Rooaaar!"
The Mosasaur let out a thunderous roar.
A blur of blue shot past in an instant.
Splatter…
A spray of blood filled the air, scattering in all directions.
The nearby lackeys were drenched in it.
"Ahhh!"
"Ah—"
"Murder! Someone's been killed!"
The surrounding townsfolk screamed in terror, stumbling backward in panic.
"So strong…"
Naden Rich's eyes gleamed with interest.
"Go! Catch it for me!" he shouted to his men.
His lackeys exchanged terrified looks, too frightened to move, yet afraid to defy him.
Just then, two Marine soldiers rushed over.
"What are you doing…?" one of them demanded. But as soon as they saw the bloody corpse on the ground, their expressions darkened.
At that moment, Jiang Qize also stepped out.
When he saw that his Mosasaur had killed someone—and then noticed a delicate-looking young man staring at it with burning greed—he instantly understood what had happened.
"Quick! Get it! Now!" Naden Rich barked, shouting at his men, not caring in the slightest that Marines were present.
"And you two—help me catch that dinosaur!" he yelled, pointing at the two Marine soldiers.
The Marines exchanged a look, and one of them—a darker-skinned man—snorted coldly. "Who the hell do you think you are? Don't you know this is a Marine base?"
"You dare speak to me like that? Do you even know who I am? I'm a noble of a World Government–affiliated kingdom!" Naden Rich declared arrogantly.
Jiang Qize gave him a flat glance and curled his lip in disdain.
Just another parasite.
He pushed off lightly with both feet, his body rising effortlessly into the air before landing steadily on the Mosasaur's back.
"You're this dinosaur's master?"
Seeing his "future mount" already claimed, Naden Rich's eyes turned cold as he looked up at Jiang Qize.
Jiang Qize met his gaze indifferently.
He wasn't a pirate, so he couldn't even be bothered to argue—it was a waste of breath.
"Let's go."
He gave the Mosasaur a pat and spoke softly.
"Trying to leave? Kill him!" Naden Rich shouted angrily to his lackeys.
This time, the men didn't hesitate—they all raised their guns toward Jiang Qize.
"Rooaaar!"
A thunderous roar split the air, followed by the sound of something massive striking down from above.
The men's eyes widened in horror and regret.
Thud, thud, thud…
The Mosasaur's huge tail slammed into them like a hammer from the heavens, sending their bodies flying before they crashed violently to the ground—nearly reduced to pulp.
Naden Rich finally felt true fear. His pupils contracted sharply as he turned to run—
But a dark shadow dropped from above.
Boom!
The ground trembled, and when the dust settled, all that remained was a mess of blood and flesh.
The Mosasaur's massive form vanished down the street, leaving behind only two stunned Marines, frozen in place, unsure what to think.
