Chapter 128: Admiral-Level Raptorex
Beneath the Island of God, the Raptorex—already back in its dino form—lay crouched on the ground.
Buzz—BOOM!!
All at once, a terrifying aura erupted from its body.
A black-blue, tangible pressure shot straight into the sky. The clouds above darkened instantly, turning into a heavy, oppressive mass, as if doomsday had arrived.
"Roar~"
The Raptorex let out a thunderous roar as it slowly rose to its feet. Standing over forty meters tall, it looked like some ancient monstrosity from a primordial age. The aura of a top predator radiated from its body, making the air itself tremble.
Its body continued to grow larger and bulkier. Strands of ghostly blue light flickered across its form, like coils of black lightning winding around it.
Crack… crack…
Its teeth slowly lengthened, darkening in color, gleaming with a chilling luster like icy jade carved from a glacier—each one half a meter long.
Before long, the Raptorex had grown to an enormous hundred meters in length. Its overwhelming aura pressed the surrounding ground down into a massive crater.
"Roar~"
The Raptorex threw its head back and unleashed a piercing howl. The very air vibrated from the force.
Then its body twisted, shifting into a towering, hundred-meter ghost-blue giant. Its eyes shone as brightly as suns in the sky, and a faint blue glow rippled across its skin.
"So that's… what Old Bawang meant… Ba wang… heh heh!"
The Raptorex looked toward the direction of the Divine Palace and let out two simple, goofy chuckles, though the sound rumbled like rolling thunder.
Earlier, the Ba wang told him to call him "Old Ba wang," and he had kept that in mind. Now that his mind had advanced to a higher level, even if he wasn't as intelligent as Ba wang—who had the benefit of the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Sage—his current intelligence was already on par with, if not slightly above, an ordinary person.
Now he finally understood what that nickname was supposed to mean.
…
"Achoo…"
In a simple laboratory, Ba wang sneezed and rubbed his nose.
"Did I catch a cold?" he muttered in a low voice.
After dazing for a moment, he shook his head and went back to his research.
Inside the Divine Palace.
[Name]: Raptorex
[Type]: Carnivorous Dinosaur
[Abilities]: Apex Predator Body (perfect offense and defense, terrifying combat instincts, every part of the body can serve as a weapon), Shapeshifting (can switch between human form and dragon form), Blade Transformation (every part of the body can transform into a sharp blade), Advanced Armament Haki, Advanced Observation Haki · Future Sight (1 second).
[Strength]: Navy Headquarters — Peak Admiral Level!
"So it only reaches peak admiral level…"
Jiang Qize stared at the Raptorex's stats and murmured softly.
But when he saw that its Observation Haki had already awakened Future Sight, he was genuinely taken aback. After all, for a true powerhouse, being able to foresee one second into the future was more than enough to turn the tide of battle.
"I wonder how the Raptorex would compare to Garp in a fight."
He felt a spark of anticipation. At this point, the Raptorex could already be considered one of the strongest beings on the sea.
"Since the Raptorex isn't of much use here on Skypiea, I might as well send him down to the Blue Sea for a few years to make me some money."
A thought like that surfaced in Jiang Qize's mind.
Even though he still had several billion left, that money would disappear quickly—in the blink of an eye.
With only that amount, he wouldn't be able to recruit many powerful people.
So sending the Raptorex down seemed like the best option.
With the Raptorex's strength, no one on the sea could do anything to him unless he was surrounded. Otherwise, he could roam around causing chaos like Kaido.
And… he didn't have the ocean weakness either.
"It's decided, then."
A wide grin spread across his face.
This boost in the Raptorex's power also increased his own strength by a notch, and his three types of Haki grew even stronger as well.
