Chapter 134: Capone Bege's Battle
"This is Bessy Family territory. Didn't you know that? Get lost!"
A man with a painted face lowered his head and looked down on the short figure before him, shouting with disdain.
Capone Bege raised his head, blew out a puff of smoke, and the corner of his mouth lifted slightly. A cold glint flashed through his eyes as he looked at them.
His hands rose from his pockets, fingers posed like pistols aimed at the two men.
A tiny door opened at his fingertip, revealing a small gunman inside.
Bang! Bang!
Two gunshots rang out.
"Pff! Pff!"
The two painted-face men stared wide-eyed, disbelief frozen in their gaze. A bloody hole marked each forehead, blood slowly trickling down.
They toppled backward.
Thud. Thud.
"Enemy attack—!"
"Enemy attack—!"
Lights inside the castle flicked on instantly. Shouts echoed as footsteps pounded forward from within.
"Goodbye."
Capone Bege looked at the rushing figures and let his smile deepen.
A moment later, doors all over his body swung open, revealing rows of cannons and armed men.
His subordinates, always on standby within him, immediately opened fire.
Whirr—
Shells shot out, expanding rapidly into full size as they flew, then rained down upon the castle.
Boom! Boom! Boom—
Explosions roared through the night. The once-quiet darkness was torn apart by flashing firelight.
"Ahhh—!"
"Run!"
"My leg—! Someone help me!"
Screams burst from inside as chaos spread.
Meanwhile, the men inside Capone Bege surged out and began gunning down those who fled.
Bang! Bang! Bang—
Gunfire and cannonfire blended with continuous cries of agony.
The residents along the street were terrified. Not a single window opened—everyone hurried to turn out their lights, afraid to be noticed.
"Rrroar—!"
Suddenly a tiger's roar cut through the noise. A massive shadow sprang from the castle wall, landing heavily on the ground.
Boom!
The impact shook the street.
Moonlight washed over the beast, revealing its massive shape.
It was a striped yellow tiger—three meters tall, six meters long. Its four enormous claws dug into the ground, cracking the tiles beneath, shimmering with a cold, lethal gleam in the moonlight.
Its huge tiger eyes locked onto the small figure of Capone Bege, brimming with fury.
"Capone Bege, you must be tired of living—how dare you come after my Bessy Family!"
The giant tiger spoke in a deep, buzzing voice, roaring in anger.
Capone Bege snapped his fingers. All his men instantly stopped. The corner of his mouth curled upward.
"futusi. So you're a Devil Fruit user too."
Capone Bege let out a defiant laugh.
"You're not bad yourself. No wonder you could kill your own father and brothers." futusi growled.
"Tsk. A shame. If you weren't one of the Bessy Family, maybe you could've lived."
"You think you can wipe out the Bessy Family? Don't make me laugh. Tonight… you'll die here!"
"Rrroar—!"
With a furious roar, futusi lunged, jaws wide, pouncing straight at Capone Bege.
"A measly cat-cat fruit."
Capone Bege's voice turned icy. A savage light flashed in his eyes as his body suddenly expanded.
"Rrraugh—!"
A far more domineering roar exploded out.
His form shifted into a massive therizinosaur, his body shimmering with the glow of the Fortress-Fortress Fruit.
Which meant his skin was now as hard as castle walls.
Though the therizinosaur was an herbivore, a dinosaur was still a dinosaur. In his hands, it was a predator. His enormous scythe-like claws were the perfect weapons.
Just as the giant tiger was about to reach him, a thick, powerful tail whipped out violently and struck the beast.
Boom!!
The air itself trembled with the impact. The giant tiger was sent hurtling backward, crashing into the Bessy Family's own men and crushing a swath of them beneath its weight.
