Chapter 276 - Chapter 276: Going With The Flow

Medford, a town with little in the way of nightlife, appeared tranquil and serene after midnight.

Under the moonlight, the powerful roar of a Rolls-Royce Phantom engine shattered this tranquility.

Before long, the car pulled up directly in front of Meemaw Connie's house.

Following that, a soft knock sounded on the door.

Illuminated by the moonlight, Collins stood there in a tasteful floral dress, her face adorned with exquisite light makeup. She had clearly dressed up specifically for this occasion.

The door opened, and against the light from inside, Mike appeared before the girl.

"Mike, I... I..." Collins, who had prepared her confession in advance, found herself stuttering nervously the moment she saw him.

After going to such great lengths, she found herself lacking the courage to confess. Feelings of annoyance and self-blame instantly swallowed the girl.

Having lost her nerve, Collins dared not look Mike in the eye and could only lower her head in shame.

"Did you have a smooth trip?"

Mike, who had already guessed what was happening, greeted the girl like an old friend: "Come in and sit down first..."

The girl's behavior this time could be described as both bold and crazy, but now wasn't the time to assign blame.

To be honest, Mike had been under a lot of pressure before, and only when the girl appeared did he truly relax.

"Oh, okay. Thanks~"

Collins, her confession plan having failed, mechanically followed Mike into the room.

At this point, the situation couldn't get any worse.

Having hit rock bottom, the girl calmed down completely, even finding time to reflect on the reasons for her failure.

Just then, Meemaw Connie and Paige, hearing the commotion outside, walked out of their rooms simultaneously.

Paige glanced at Collins, whose hair was slightly messy and expression flustered, in the living room, then turned back to her room.

Little girls generally mature earlier than boys.

Moreover, Paige had her own pride. Despite her usually easy-going appearance, she, like Young Sheldon, believed that humans and monkeys couldn't be true companions.

To explain, there is a natural barrier between super-high IQ geniuses and ordinary people.

Ordinary people simply cannot understand the world of geniuses.

Classified this way, Mike, Young Sheldon, and Paige, the three geniuses, naturally belonged to the same camp.

Therefore, Paige didn't care how many girls Mike dated; she knew that only she would be with him until the end.

This belongs to the confidence of a genius~

Under these circumstances, Paige, confident in her looks, understood that the only problem standing between her and Mike was time.

Paige needed to grow up quickly and become a big beauty.

This also explains why Paige was angry earlier when she heard Mike say she wouldn't grow tall.

On the other side, Meemaw Connie, also appearing in the living room, looked at the girl beside Mike, first with a bit of surprise, then revealed a knowing smile.

With her super good mentality, she loved watching drama the most.

"Mike, there are still steaks and red wine in the fridge, you can enjoy them with this young lady..." After greeting the two, Meemaw Connie gave Mike a look full of deep meaning before turning back to her room: "Sigh, getting old... easily sleepy... ears aren't working well either..."

Accompanying Meemaw Connie's departure were her mumblings.

Although it sounded like an old person lamenting the passage of time, Mike knew Meemaw Connie was implicitly reminding him that no one would disturb his "good deed" tonight.

"Do you need to eat something first?" After only the two of them were left in the living room, Mike asked the girl.

"No, I'm not... hungry..." Good upbringing made Collins want to be polite, but her stomach growled at just that moment, making the girl unable to continue her words.

A blush crept up the girl's cheeks.

"You haven't had dinner yet, have you?" Mike asked in surprise.

The girl had been focused on the confession earlier and rushed over in a hurry, indeed not having time to eat dinner.

Now, before she could even say her confession, accidents happened one after another.

Things seemed to be developing in a strange direction. Collins, realizing this, looked increasingly embarrassed.

Well, no need for her to answer, Mike understood everything from the girl's reaction.

"Have some snacks first, I'll go make you something to eat..."

There were nuts and cookies on the living room table. After instructing the girl, Mike took some ingredients from the fridge and went straight to the kitchen.

Before long, a simple dinner was ready, including a pan-fried steak and a glass of hot milk.

When Mike came out with the food, Collins seemed to have reorganized her mood.

Sitting dignifiedly on the sofa, the girl's expression returned to tranquility, radiating a unique charm.

"Thanks~"

After the food was placed in front of her, Collins thanked politely before enjoying this late dinner.

Have to say, people with good family education are different.

Even eating reveals elegance.

"Coming over alone at night like this, are you planning to elope with me?" After the girl had almost finished eating, Mike asked with some mischievousness.

He hadn't forgotten how much trouble this elegant girl had caused him earlier.

You know, if something really happened to Collins this time, Little Sean's family would definitely come looking for Mike.

"Cough, cough... I didn't~"

The sudden question almost choked Collins. After organizing the messed-up dinner plate in front of her, she turned to look at Mike and confessed: "I came here this time actually to tell you that I like you."

"You can not care about this, but I still want you to know..."

Maybe to leave no regrets, or maybe because Collins was about to go to college and thought the two wouldn't have a chance to meet again.

So, the girl poured out her heart all at once.

Then she stared at Mike uneasily, as if waiting for his verdict.

"Want some red wine?"

After a moment of silence, Mike took two glasses of red wine from the side, handed one to the girl to calm her down, and continued: "Actually, I'm not that picky about girls. As long as they are beautiful enough, I like them all. You happen to fit my aesthetics..."

This was purely scumbag speech.

Collins obviously understood what Mike meant, and her expression became extremely complicated.

Girls at the age of loving fantasies definitely hope to harvest a pure love.

And Mike's answer was very uncomfortable.

Good news: Mike seemed to have feelings for Collins too.

Bad news: Collins couldn't be the only one.

"Give me another glass of wine~" Collins, falling into entanglement again, downed the red wine in her hand in one gulp.

"Are you sure you want more?" Mike asked seriously.

In this situation, drinking more wine would imply something.

"Drink, why not drink!" Collins, who had only drunk one glass of red wine, seemed already tipsy.

The man has affection and the woman has intention. Mike wouldn't suffer a loss, so naturally, there was no reason to stop her.

With a few glasses of wine down, Collins became bolder, and her gaze staring at Mike's handsome face became more presumptuous.

She needed to vent now...

So, a drinking session slowly moved from the living room to Mike's room.

[Charisma +20] ... [Flexibility +3] ... [Dancing Experience +66] ...

Have to say, Collins lived up to being the cheerleader captain of her school. Not only was her beauty comparable to Regina and the other girls, but even her "kung fu" was no worse than Regina's.
