Karlotta was violently woken up by a loud bang and went to the main area to investigate. The gym she was staying in for the night was quite peaceful up until that moment. The workers were all in a panicked state while the glass doors locked for sone reason was being banged at continously by a horde of frantic people.
"What is going on" she thought as she let out a questioning glance at the reception slowly so that she wasn't alerting anyone.
People screeched and screamed louder than ever before a splatter sound came followed by silence. Karlotta very reasonavly was now confused and also terrified.
The entire gym was now full of people running around in terror resembling the start of an apocalypse maybe because it was one.
Anyway karlotta was among the crowd of people scared out of her wits then before she ran to the furthest part of the gym towards the showers.
She was very much unprepared for this. She was really just a young girl with no life experienxe whatsover just a bit of intellect useless when she couldn't properly think or even breathe for that matter.
She was now holding onto the bag with the items from home onto dear life. She was silently sobbing tears not from pain, greif, anger or joy but violent tears fell from her eyes. As they say tears are the most condensed form of any emotion maybe they were the most condensed form of her inability to think. Who knows
As she was crying she remembered something from the sight that she had just witnessed just a few moments prior. The people outside just died with a splatter no violent fighting or attacks whatsoever they just combusted.
Karli now less scared started to analyze things more. The people closest to the doors too started to slowly pop off one at the time. Their and the other victims blood, muccus, saliva and somewhat organ remains spreading from the inward out without anything intruding from outside they just met their ends.
Karlotta truly at this moment thought that she had thought of something so she slowly pieced unshattered shards or the glass that was truth together.
What she found was that theyre was some kind of gas that was causing all of this not anything she had ever heard about but things seemed convincing enough.
"SAVE ME PLEASE"
Karli heard approaching the showers with more splatter . She quickly thought of something before she took the shawl she had received just a few days before and wetted it just enough so that she wouldn't be "poisoned" by the gas then proceeded to wear it as a kind of mask pulling it around her face as much as hse could.
She thought she was a genius. Anyway this seemed to work vecause even though sone people came in running and crying with snot, blood, tears and fear all over their faces none of them survived for the exception of karlotta.
Her plan seemed to have worked.
"Thank god I don't know what would have happened if i didn't"
The dampness of her makeshift mask now set in. Her senses tingled though she wore the task her eyes were completely naked being able to witness the whole thing. They narrowed down.
And she smelt a horrible smell maybe it was there maybe it was her own mind creating that pungent foul odour.
She gagged continously wishing to vomit. Everthing and anything that sge had ate and also things she didn't felt like they were about to erupt from her stomache like a volcano but it didn't. Primal instincual fear made her keep that mask on.
She was still like a stathe with a beating heart that wished to cry tears of blood. But the sobbing before had now stopped for her fear of being detected by the "gas" was stronger than her flow of tears.
Everything around her seemed distant. If a soneone somewhere was to see her on tv. She would've been known as a amazing actor and the show as a run-in-the-mill apocalypse story with a slightly new twist with the apocalyptic part.
Karlotta felt dead at this point in time. She didn't know whether she was alive, dreaming, or lost in reality. The world that was normal yesterday was now different today.
She was now back to sobbing because she was a useless girl with no plan and no forseeable future ahead and she knew that.
