The steady sound of a monitor could be heard in the background, the rustle of some sort of fabric or sheets, and a voice, calm but urgent. Every bone in my body ached like I had just been hit by a bus. My eyes fluttered open. A lady dressed in white approached the bed I rested on. "How are you feeling sweetie?" she inquired in a light voice. Very confused I gave her a brief thumbs up. She proceeded on checking something behind the bed. My eyes finally began to focus. Looking into his deep brown eyes, I couldn't help but wonder. Do I know him? Or better yet, does he know me? "Hang in there..." said the handsome man as he squeezed my hand, "Hang in there, Emi..." I'm trying...

Then the world turned black.
